In a heterogeneous wireless environment, there are many different radio access technologies (RATs), such as Wi-Fi and 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, which each have a different degree of coverage and processing power to meet various service requirements. A mobile user may have access to various access networks in such a situation. On the PC of each user, numerous programs with varied Quality of Service (QoS) requirements can operate simultaneously. It would be advantageous for a multi-interface terminal to use two or more interfaces simultaneously in order to improve performance. However, using multiple networks at once could use up more energy than just using one interface. Therefore, energy use must to be taken into account when analyzing the Flow/Interface Relationship (FIA). This paper presents a novel method for choosing the ideal FIA that achieves the best trade-off between all the characteristics taken into account, dubbed Smart Tabu Search (STS). STS considers user preferences, network circumstances, network expenses, application QoS specifications, and battery life of mobile devices. We use simulations and testbed experiments to validate our concept. Professionals are now able to diagnose and monitor patients remotely because to the growing use of healthcare monitoring devices. One of the most frequent occurrences that affects the reliability of information transmission in any network is congestion, which is defined as the unchecked increase in traffic relative to network capacity. With the use of a mesh network, wireless sensors, and some of the most significant models for vital signs, the article aims to provide a realistic simulation environment for a healthcare system. The simulator environment is a helpful tool for assessing the dependability and effectiveness of the healthcare system in a realistic setting. Sustainability is a key factor in the context of smart cities. In smart cities, promoting sustainable energy is one strategy for achieving sustainability and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Different energy sources are needed to meet the need for affordable and dependable electrical energy, where the environmental impact typically outweighs the cost of generation. In order to increase sustainability in the electrical industry, smart cities are examined in this article. The methodological strategy for this involved conducting a systematic literature review utilizing the PRISMA procedure. 154 journal articles were examined in-depth for this review. Energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy and urban planning were the themes that the results were organized into. The results of the study showed that: (a) there is a global academic publication landscape for research on smart cities and energy sustainability;(b) publications are unbalanced when comparing the results of studies on the energy use intensity of different continents to those on the energy sustain ability of smart cities;and (c) there is a strong focus on technology-related issues related to energy sustainability, efficiency, and renewables topics in the literature, but much less attention is given to these issues. Urban and energy authorities are informed by the insights produced, and scholars are given ideas for future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

Many nations are trying to develop smart cities. In these cities, all appliances will be connected through a communication network, the main challenge is building a system that will be flexible and efficient at the same time. In this study a mobile application was developed to control home appliances through ESP32 controller. The mobile application was developed in such a way that the user can use fingerprint, voice control, and switch buttons control. The mobile application was tested on several phones from a different manufacturer and it performs greatly based on the performance criteria specified in this work. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

As communication technologies and equipment evolve, smart assets become smarter. The agricultural industry is also evolving in line with the implementation of modern communication protocols, intelligent sensors, and equipment. This evolution is enabling large-scale agricultural production processes to operate independently, thus, securing the food supply chain for an ever-growing population. Data processing for such a system with multiple heterogeneous sources requires proper management for effective agricultural operations. Recognizing the advantages of machine learning (ML) in performing large-scale data processing, researchers are investigating the implementation of ML to design an effective intelligent agricultural architecture. The aim of this article is to provide a thorough analysis of the state-of-the-art in smart agriculture, open challenges, and guidelines for the development of further enhanced smart agriculture systems. Specifically, we describe how ML is used to create intelligent agricultural systems supported by state-of-the-art technology. © 2020 IEEE.

Machine learning has the ability to dramatically improve sustainable systems by anticipating needs, maximizing resource use, raising output, and lowering waste. An overview of earlier studies on the incorporation of machine learning into sustainable systems is presented together with a case study of how machine learning was used to lower energy use in a residential structure. The results show that machine learning may be used to increase energy efficiency and save a lot of money. Wearable technology has added a whole new dimension to the already vast field of personal electronics. The mobile phone gave devices their true individuality. Because so many services are designed around mobile phones, the market has opened up for a brand-new personalized experience utilizing wearable technologies. Fabric sensors may now be combined with wearable microcontrollers like the flora and lily pad to monitor stretch, pressure, bend, and even the direction that the body is being braced. The connections between them are based on conductive threads that follow the curve of the fabric. We'll examine how different teams used their in-depth understanding of wearable technologies to accomplish their goals in this study. © 2023 IEEE.

With the increase in computer use for the last 10 years, it increases the size of cyber-attacks as well. Since most computers are connected to the network, they may suffer cyber-attacks. Because of these cyber threats, Cyber Security is becoming a really important area in the information technology area. Cyber Security is an area which is mainly responsible for dealing with cyber-attacks by hackers. The improvements and advancements in the information technology area allow cyber criminals to do really complicated and dangerous cyber-attacks. Cyber-attack methods that are being used today are much more effective than the ones in the past. Because of that, there is always a war between cyber security specialists and cyber attackers or hackers. Cyber security analysts, on the other hand, try to come up with new solutions to the methods developed by cyber criminals or hackers. The competition between them continuously advances and improves cyber security technologies every day. The improvements can be either in cyber security or cybercrime side. These days, traditional cyber security solutions are enough to fight against cyber-attacks, but can these solutions be further developed? This is the question everyone in the cyber security area is trying to answer. Of course, yes. Thanks to ai, which is one of the most popular technologies in the information technology area, it is used in many areas ranging from e-commerce, advertising, human resource & recruiting, video games, transportation, surveillance systems etc. ai has been used in cyber security over the last years. Although it also has negative effects, we are going to mostly talk about its positive sides in this article. We are going to go deep into how and why ai is used in cyber security, how ai improves and enhances the current traditional cyber security methods. Then, we will also talk about which ai techniques play an important role in the cyber security area. © 2023 IEEE.

In the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (ai) and robotics, autonomous object manipulation has emerged as a pivotal research domain, finding applications in sectors as diverse as manufacturing and healthcare. While significant strides have been made in object identification, trajectory planning, and manipulation tasks, these advancements often fall short in real-world, dynamic settings, revealing a critical research gap in algorithmic adaptability and computational efficiency. This paper addresses the gap by applying YOLOv4, a state-of-the-art object detection ai algorithm, within the context of the RoboCup Autonomous Robot Manipulation (ARM) Challenge - a competitive platform designed to simulate real-world complexities in autonomous systems. The research objectives are twofold: firstly, the performance of YOLOv4 in object detection and classification under dynamically changing conditions is rigorously evaluated, employing varied training strategies in both simulated and real-world scenarios. Secondly, the robustness and adaptability of the algorithm in object manipulation tasks are scrutinized and facilitated by the real-world dynamics inherent to the competition. Empirical results demonstrate the algorithm's high accuracy, efficiency, and robustness in dynamic environments, substantiating its broader applicability in the development of autonomous systems. © 2023 IEEE.

This work introduces an optimal control policy aiming to stabilize an Euler-Lagrange system of unknown dynamics, while simultaneously satisfying predefined response criteria. The proposed methodology unfolds in two stages. In the initial phase, a neural network is trained online via an iterative process to capture the system's dynamics. Subsequently, in the second phase, by utilizing the acquired dynamics, a successive approximation algorithm is employed to derive a nearly optimal control law while taking into consideration prescribed performance specifications such as convergence speed and steady state error. Validation of our method is achieved through a simulated paradigm, confirming the success of both the identification process and the minimization of the adopted integral cost. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent decades, recommendation systems are used in a variety of applications like social connections, movies, music, and venues. The existing algorithms has certain limitations like data sparsity, cold start problem, and poor scalability to degrade the movie recommendation performance. To address the aforementioned concerns, a new matrix factorization-based collaborative filtering algorithm is developed to enhance movie recommendation performance. In a neural collaborative filtering algorithm, an adaptive moment variance reduction gradient optimizer is applied in low-rank matrix factorization for representing the users and items in a low dimensional latent space to obtain effective movie recommendation performance. In this paper, the proposed algorithm performance is evaluated on three benchmark datasets;movielens 100K, 1M, and 10M datasets. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm obtained the difference of 0.08 and 0.056 roots mean square error value in movielens 1M and 10M datasets, which are better compared to the existing collaborative filtering-based deep learning algorithm. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The research field of collective behaviors takes inspiration from natural self-organizing systems like honeybees, fish schools, social insects, bird flocks, and other social animals. These behaviors can be transformed into robots by replicating the same set of rules as found in the natural swarms. The deployment of aerial swarm robotics has become significant due to their multiple applications in surveillance, agriculture, and military. These applications lead to the development of aerial swarm robotic platforms to solve real-world problems. For example, a swarm of low-tech, cost-effective small UAVs can engage a high-tech target effectively. Similarly, a swarm of UAVs can perform surveillance and rescue missions in disastrous areas and build an emergency communication network through multiple UAV swarms. The critical part of swarm technology is multiple swarm intelligence algorithms that have been proposed and tested by various simulation platforms such as V-rep, Gazebo and MATLAB. Very few of them have been deployed on hardware to solve real scenarios that include formation control, navigation, pattern formation, and a few sub-swarm generation algorithms. Team connectivity is one of the essential aspects of a swarm network that emerges the collective intelligence of the group and ensures the readiness of the algorithm to deploy and solve real-world problems. Many researchers proposed the team connectivity algorithms in a single swarm network but still left the connectivity gap between the sub-swarms during a mission. This research work contributes toward designing a swarm intelligence algorithm to improve the connectivity techniques and team connectivity between the swarm agents and the sub-swarm groups. © 2023 IEEE.
