Prevalence of psychoactive substance use and related factors in men who have unprotected sex with men in Zhejiang Province

Objective To understand the prevalence of psychoactive substance use and related factors in men who have unprotected sex with men in Zhejiang Province. Methods Men who have unprotected sex with men were recruited by snowball sampling through men who have sex with men (MSM) social organization in Zhejiang to conduct a cross-sectional investigation from January 2022 to December 2023. The sample size was estimated to be 1 169 individuals. The information about their socio-demographic information, sexual behaviors, psychoactive substance use, and HIV testing were collected through on-site questionnaire survey. Logistic regression analysis model was used to analyze related factors about psychoactive substance use in this population. Results A total of 1 914 men who have unprotected sex with men were included in the study, the average age of the study subjects was (31.43±10.46) years, and most of them were aged ≤35 years (70.8%, 1 356/1 914). Those with education level of high school or below accounted for 50.1% (960/1 914) and those who were not married accounted for 63.5% (1 216/1 914). Psychoactive substance use in the past 3 months was reported in 19.7% (377/1 914) of the subjects. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the factors associated with psychoactive substance use in the past 3 months included age 26-35 years (aOR=1.65, 95%CI: 1.24-2.19), ≥2 sexual partners in the past 3 months (aOR=2.33, 95%CI: 1.82-2.97), std diagnosed in the past 3 months (aOR=2.62, 95%CI: 1.45-4.74), and awareness of the HIV infection status of sexual partners (aOR=2.83, 95%CI: 2.12-3.78). Conclusions The prevalence of psychoactive substance use in men who have unprotected sex with men was high in Zhejiang. Background:HIV epidemic among men who have sex with men(MSM)remains a major public health concern in *** a growing body of research on transgender women worldwide,little is known about Chinese transgender women within *** sought to estimate HIV incidence and distinguish risk factors of HIV acquisition among them from that among cisgener(non-transgender)MSM(cis-MSM).Methods:We conducted an open cohort study among Chinese MSM,including those who were identifed as transgender in Shanghai and *** were initially recruited by local community-based organizations from January to June,2016,and were followed up approximately every 6 months until June *** each visit,a structured questionnaire was used to gather information on demographics,sexual risk behaviors,and HIV *** incidence was calculated as the number of seroconversions divided by total number of person-years of follow-up among HIV-negatives at *** factors of HIV acquisition were assessed by univariate and multivariate Cox regression models with time-dependent ***:A total of 1056 participants contributed 1260.53 person-years(PYs)of follow-up,33 HIV seroconversions occurred during the follow-up period,yielding an estimated HIV incidence of 2.62(95%CI 1.80–3.68)per 100 *** incidence among transgender women was 4.42 per 100 PYs,which was signifcantly higher than that of 1.35 per 100 PYs among cis-MSM,demonstrating a threefold higher odds of HIV infection than *** transgender women,those lived locally≤2 years(adjusted hazard ratio[aHR]=1.76,95%CI 1.13–2.76)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=4.22,95%CI 1.82–9.79)were more likely to acquire *** cis-MSM,factors associated with HIV acquisition were frequency of anal sex≥3 times in past one month(aHR=4.19,95%CI 1.06–16.47)and unprotected anal sex last time(aHR=5.33,95%CI 1.52–18.73).Conclusions:Compared to cis-MSM,transgender women were at higher risk of HIV acquisition,highlighting an urgent

Analysis of HIV antibody positivity and influencing factors among new type drug users at aids surveillance posts in Zhejiang Province from 2017 to 2023

Objective To analyze the HIV antibody positivity of new type drug users in drug abuse monitoring sites in Zhejiang Province from 2017 to 2023 and its influencing factors. Methods From 2017 to 2023, a continuous cross-sectional survey was carried out in HIV monitoring posts among new type drug users in Zhejiang Province,the sample size was 400 people per site of 9 drug abuse surveillance sites in 7 cities. Questionnaires were conducted to investigate their social demographic information, related behavioral information, aids awareness, and acceptance of intervention measures, and blood was collected for HIV and syphilis antibody detection, with new type drugs users in the monitoring population as the research object. SPSS 22.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Results A total of 13 955 new drug users were surveyed, and the number of new drug users was 2 518, 2 292, 2 526, 2 119, 2 161, 1 064 and 1 275 from 2017 to 2023, respectively, the HIV antibody positive rate of new type drugs users was 0.44%, 1.09%, 2.06%, 1.09%, 1.39%, 1.50%, 2.90%, respectively, and the HIV antibody positive standardized rate showed an increasing trend (all P<0.001). The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that marital status: unmarried/divorced/widowed (aOR=3.92, 95%CI: 2.46-6.25), provincial household registration (aOR=3.54, 95%CI: 2.34-5.35), high school education or above (aOR=5.42, 95%CI: 3.68-7.98), sexual activity within the last 1 year after drug use (aOR=1.84, 95%CI: 1.19-2.84), and knowledge that the use of new drugs increases the risk of HIV infection (aOR=2.27, 95%CI: 1.17-4.39) were associated with increased HIV antibody favorable rates among new type drugs users. Conclusions During 2017-2023, the HIV antibody-positive rate of new type drug users in Zhejiang Province showed an upward trend. Application of the back-calculation method for estimating new HIV infections in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, 2010-2023

Objective New HIV infections serve as a crucial indicator for assessing the dynamic changes in the HIV epidemic. This study aims to estimate the number of new HIV infections in Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture of Yunnan Province (Dehong), using a back-calculation method that integrates diagnosis delay approaches and Bayesian theory. Additionally, it compares the differences between these two estimation methods. Methods Data were obtained from the Chinese Information System for Disease control and prevention. Based on CD4⁺ T lymphocytes (CD4) counts depletion model, the first CD4 count prior to antiretroviral therapy of HIV-infected individuals diagnosed in Dehong from 2010 to 2023 was utilized to retroactively determine the infection date of HIV-infected individuals and ascertain the annual number of new HIV infections who had been diagnosed. Subsequently, the diagnosis delay distribution method and Bayesian theory were leveraged to assess the diagnosis probability of newly infected individuals, thereby projecting the number of new HIV infections in the region over the specified period. Results During 2010-2023, a total of 5 693 individuals aged 15 and above, excluding mother-to-child transmission, were diagnosed with HIV in Dehong. After excluding 364 cases due to missing CD4 count results or abnormal first CD4 counts (≥2 000 cells/μl), 5 329 HIV-infected individuals were included in the final analysis. Through CD4 counts back-calculation from 2010 to 2023, the annual number of new infections diagnosed was 479, 427, 337, 305, 256, 219, 194, 193, 131, 166, 120, 71, 42 and 47. When using the diagnosis delay distribution method and life table analysis, the cumulative diagnosis probability rose from 0.301 within one year to 0.913 within 14 years, leading to a reduction in the number of estimated new infections from 577 in 2010 to 168 in 2023, with a total estimate of 4 412 (95%CI:4 350-4 480). Exploration of an Efficient Simultaneous Molecular Detection Method of HIV,HCV,and Syphilis from a Single Dried Blood Spot
