Absorption-Reflection-Transmission Power Coefficient Guiding Gradient Distribution of Magnetic MXene in Layered Composites for Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

The morphological distribution of absorbent in composites is equally important with absorbents for the overall electromagnetic properties,but it is often ***,a comprehensive consideration including electromagnetic component regulation,layered arrangement structure,and gradient concentration distribution was used to optimize impedance matching and enhance electromagnetic *** the microscale,the incorporation of magnetic Ni nanoparticles into MXene nanosheets(Ni@MXene)endows suitable intrinsic permittivity and *** the macroscale,the layered arrangement of Ni@MXene increases the effective interaction area with electromagnetic waves,inducing multiple reflection/scattering *** this basis,according to the analysis of absorption,reflection,and transmission(A-R-T)power coefficients of layered composites,the gradient concentration distribution was constructed to realize the impedance matching at low-concentration surface layer,electromagnetic loss at middle concentration interlayer and microwave reflection at high-concentration bottom ***,the layered gradient composite(LG5-10-15)achieves complete absorption coverage of X-band at thickness of 2.00-2.20 mm with RL_(min) of-68.67 dB at 9.85 GHz in 2.05 mm,which is 199.0%,12.6%,and 50.6%higher than non-layered,layered and layered descending gradient composites,***,this work confirms the importance of layered gradient structure in improving absorption performance and broadens the design of high-performance microwave absorption materials.

Studies to enhance the management of electrical energy have gained considerable momentum in recent years. The question of how much energy will be needed in households is a pressing issue as it allows the management plan of the available resources at the power grids and consumer levels. A non-intrusive inference process can be adopted to predict the amount of energy required by appliances. In this study, an inference process of appliance consumption based on temporal and environmental factors used as a soft sensor is proposed. First, a study of the correlation between the electrical and environmental variables is presented. Then, a resampling process is applied to the initial data set to generate three other subsets of data. All the subsets were evaluated to deduce the adequate granularity for the prediction of the energy demand. Then, a cloud-assisted deep neural network model is designed to forecast short-term energy consumption in a residential area while preserving user privacy. The solution is applied to the consumption data of four appliances elected from a set of real household power data. The experiment results show that the proposed framework is effective for estimating consumption with convincing accuracy.

Blockchain-Enabled Secure, Fair and Scalable Data Sharing in Zero-Trust Edge-End Environment

In edge computing, the Zero-Trust Security Model (ZTSM), as a key enabling technology for next-generation networks, plays a crucial role in providing authentication for addressing data sharing concerns, such as frequent data breaches, data misuse, and cyberattacks. However, due to the complexity and diversity of edge environments, ZTSM struggles to meet the security requirements of data sharing frameworks solely through enhanced authentication. Consequently, such frameworks with ZTSM still face challenges in ensuring data integrity, evaluating various node behaviors, and coping with the increasing complexity of node attributes. To address these issues, we propose a blockchain-enabled secure, fair and scalable data sharing framework in a zero-trust edge-end environment in this paper. Specifically, we first propose a Merkle forest-based data storage model for the classified storage of loosely coupled data, consequently enhancing the scalability of the model. Then, we design a node behavior-based reputation assessment mechanism to ensure fairness during data sharing. Moreover, a data sharing protocol supervised by smart contract is proposed, working with the aforementioned storage and assessment schemes, to ensure the security of data sharing. Finally, comprehensive security analysis validates the security, fairness and scalability of the proposed framework. Extensive experimental results show that, as transaction volume grows, the time cost of data traversal in the storage model becomes progressively more efficient. Additionally, when the size of the smart contract is increased tenfold, the maximum time cost of the data sharing protocol rises by only 4.98 times. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

The considerable hazard posed by periprosthetic joint infections underlines the urgent need for the rapid advancement of in-situ drug delivery systems within joint ***,the pursuit of sustained antibacterial efficacy remains a formidable *** this context,we proposed a novel strategy that leverages swelling and erosion mechanisms to facilitate drug release of drug-loaded ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene(UHMWPE),thereby ensuring its long-lasting antibacterial *** oxide(PEO),a hydrophilic polymer with fast hydrating ability and high swelling capacity,was incorporated in UHMWPE alongside the antibacterial tea polyphenol(epigallocatechin gallate,EGCG as representative).The swelling of PEO enhanced water infiltration into the matrix,while the erosion of PEO balanced the release of the encapsulated EGCG,resulting in a steady *** behavior was supported by the EGCG release profiles and the corresponding fitted release kinetic *** demonstrated by segmented antibacterial assessments,the antibacterial efficiency was enhanced 2to 3 times in the PEO/EGCG/UHMWPE composite compared to that of EGCG/***,the PEO/EGCG/UHMWPE composite exhibited favorable biocompatibility and mechanical performance,making it a potential candidate for the development of drug-releasing joint implants to combat prosthetic bacterial infections.

RGB-Based Category-Level Object Pose Estimation via Depth Recovery and Adaptive Refinement

Category-level pose estimation methods have received widespread attention as they can be generalized to intra-class unseen objects. Although RGB-D-based category-level methods have made significant progress, reliance on depth image limits practical application. RGB-based methods offer a more practical and cost-effective solution. However, current RGB-based methods struggle with object geometry perception, leading to inaccurate pose estimation. We propose depth recovery and adaptive refinement for category-level object pose estimation from a single RGB image. We leverage DINOv2 to reconstruct the coarse scene-level depth from the input RGB image and propose an adaptive refinement network based on an encoder-decoder architecture to dynamically improve the predicted coarse depth and reduce its gap from the ground truth. We introduce a 2D–3D consistency loss to ensure correspondence between the point cloud obtained from depth projection and the objects in the 2D image. This consistency supervision enables the model to maintain alignment between the depth image and the point cloud. Finally, we extract features from the refined point cloud and feed them into two confidence-aware rotation regression branches and a translation and size prediction residual branch for end-to-end training. Decoupling the rotation matrix provides a more direct representation, which facilitates parameter optimization and gradient propagation. Extensive experiments on the REAL275 and CAMERA25 datasets demonstrate the superior performance of our method. Real-world estimation and robotic grasping experiments demonstrate our model robustness to occlusion, clutter environments, and low-textured objects. Energy Oriented Three-Tier Computation Offloading Scheme in Maritime Edge Computing Network

With the development of maritime continuing to grow, large-scale maritime wireless devices (MWDs) are being deployed for various maritime applications. The rapid development of maritime Internet of Things (IoT) and growing demand for these applications have led to an increasing number of computation-intensive and resource-sensitive tasks. Considering the limited computing capacity and energy of MWDs, it is challenging to transmit and process massive maritime computing tasks in an energy efficient manner. In this paper, we propose a three-tier maritime edge computing system in which low earth orbit (LEO) satellite and offshore base station (OBS) support to provide communication and computing services for MWDs. The system optimizes association variable, task partitioning, transmission power, and computing resource allocation to reduce system energy consumption under latency constraints. The optimization problem is formulated as a mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) optimization problem. We decompose the original problem into four subproblems and design algorithms to solve them. Firstly, the association variable optimization subproblem is solved by slack variable method. Then, we adopt quadratic transformation and design a difference of convex algorithm to solve transmission power optimization subproblem. Further, task partitioning subproblem is solved by obtaining upper and lower bounds of offloading task size by strict deduction, and then solved by the standard convex method. Finally, Lagrangian dual method is utilized to deal with joint computing resource optimization subproblem of LEO satellite and OBS. In simulation results, the proposed algorithm saves 39.3% of system energy consumption compared to benchmark schemes. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

In mobile systems, memory can be compressed page-by-page to save space. This approach is widely adopted because memory data is accessed by page. However, this paper shows that the system response speed is significantly limited by page-grained compression. In this paper, we observe that approximately a quarter of anonymous memory pages are highly correlated, even though the association is implicit. Inspired by this, we propose Archer, an association-rule-aware memory compression framework in mobile systems. Archer demonstrates that memory in mobile devices should be compressed using flexible granularity, rather than relying solely on traditional page compression. To further integrate association-rule mining techniques into system design, we redesign the LRU mechanism and propose an adaptive memory compression region. Experimental results show that the average app launching speed is 1.55x faster when enabling Archer, and the average photographic speed and frame rate increase by 1.42x and 1.31x, respectively, compared to the state-of-the-art. © 2025 FAST. While promising results have been achieved in weakly-supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS), limited supervision from image-level tags inevitably induces discriminative reliance and spurious relations between target classes and background regions. Thus, Class Activation Map (CAM) usually tends to activate discriminative object regions and falsely includes lots of class-related backgrounds. Without pixel-level supervisions, it could be very difficult to enlarge the foreground activation and suppress those false activation of background regions. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Cross Language Image Matching with Automatic Context Discovery (CLIMS++), based on the recently introduced Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) model, for WSSS. The core idea of our framework is to introduce natural language supervision to activate more complete object regions and suppress class-related background regions in CAM. In particular, we design object, background region, and text label matching losses to guide the model to excite more reasonable object regions of each category. In addition, we propose to automatically find spurious relations between foreground categories and backgrounds, through which a background suppression loss is designed to suppress the activation of class-related backgrounds. The above designs enable the proposed CLIMS++ to generate a more complete and compact activation map for the target objects. Extensive experiments on PASCAL VOC 2012 and MS COCO 2014 datasets show that our CLIMS++ significantly outperforms the previous state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.
