A flexible antenna embedded in a polydimethy lsiloxane structure and integrated with an Artificial Magnetic Conductor plane is presented. The conducting elements of the antenna is fully-implemented using Eutectic Gallium Indium liquid metal except for its ground plane. Its dual band operation which is designed based on the operating principles of a patch antenna modified with slots and slits enabled its operation in the 2.45 GHz and 5.8 GHz bands. The integration of the antenna and AMC plane fully made using liquid metal embedded in PDMS enabled a highly flexible antenna, besides potentially enabling the addition of tunable characteristics to the structure. Simulations and measurements of the antenna performance indicated good agreements, with bandw idths of 80 MHz and 460 MHz in the lower band and upper band and between 4 and 5 dBi of gain.

We report sensors for detection of ethyl alcohol, a prominent volatile organic compound (VOC). Single walled carbon nanotubes were selected as main sensing backbone. As efficiency of sensor is dependent upon the choice of sensing materials, the performances of conducting polymer and porphyrin based sensors were compared. Chemiresistive sensing modality was adopted to observe the performance of sensors. It has been found that porphyrin based sensor shows higher affinity towards ethyl alcohol.

For the last few decades semiconductor industry has been following Moore Law effectively, which has resulted in significant miniaturization of transistors and chip logic circuitry, and the development of 3D integration technology. While due to the large size and extremely thin of chip and interposer, increasingly attention has been payed to the warpage, which was regarded not only decide the assembly process, but also affect the reliability of the package. In this study, the warpage of high power processor chip, TSV interposer and substrate was investigated during the whole reflow process by shadow moiré. The warpage of interposer and substrate was found similar around the peak reflow temperature, and quite different with the warpage of chip. Thus the assembly process started with packaging interposer and substrate first and good bonding quality was found from failure analysis.

We have performed high field magnetoabsorption spectroscopy on silicon doped with a variety of single and double donor species. The magnetic field provides access to an experimental magnetic length, and the quadratic Zeeman effect, in particular, may be used to extract the wave-function radius without reliance on previously determined effective mass parameters. We were, therefore, able to determine the limits of validity for the standard one-band anisotropic effective mass model. We also provide improved parameters and use them for an independent check on the accuracy of effective mass theory. Finally, we show that the optically accessible excited-state wave functions have the attractive property that interactions with neighbors are far more forgiving of position errors than (say) the ground state.

We report a flexible and high-performance TCE/substrate platform by introducing electro-spun Ag nanofiber (AgNF) and glass-fabric reinforced hybrimer (GFRHybrimer) with high transparency and robustness. A single-line network of AgNF, which already has a conductive path without junction, can provide high transparency and low sheet resistance, simultaneously. Moreover, GFRHybrimer matrix enhances the thermal stability of the AgNF TCE and mechanical durability of the composite film with smooth surface topography. To confirm the reliability and durability, we fabricated OLED on the AgNF/GFRHybrimer composite film and demonstrated the availability of the composite film for the next generation opto-electronics.
