In this paper, we introduce discrete Calabi flow to the graphics research community and present a novel conformal mesh parameterization algorithm. Calabi energy has a succinct and explicit format. Its corresponding flow is conformal and convergent under certain conditions. Our method is based on the Calabi energy and Calabi flow with solid theoretical and mathematical base. We demonstrate our approach on dozens of models and compare it with other related flow based methods, such as the well-known Ricci flow and conformal equivalence of triangle meshes (CETM). Our experiments show that the performance of our algorithm is comparably the same with other methods. The discrete Calabi flow in our method provides another perspective on conformal flow and conformal parameterization. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

In this work, the result of the initial attempt to propose an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) digital security and interoperability standard to support the mobility among ASEAN countries is presented. Literature reviews on existing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) related digital technologies of six ASEAN member countries are conducted. Several concerns related to creating/implementing the ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard are discussed including the technology accessing concern, the data security and privacy concern, and the data interoperability and availability concern. The proposed solution toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard is then presented. To evaluate the proposed solution, a survey has been conducted on representatives of nine ASEAN countries on four main issues including the security standards and requirements, the interoperability standard and requirements, the certifications, and the implementation challenges. According to the survey and the discussion, seven recommendations were proposed toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard. First, each country collects and maintains the data of its own citizens and also provides a method to authenticate and access the data by authorized requests. Second, QR code standard or ASEAN QR code standard must be agreed upon so that it can be authenticated and verified by ASEAN countries. Third, health risk assessment must be agreed upon to be used. Forth, the security standard, the data, the data format and the exchange protocol must be agreed upon at the ASEAN policy level while adoption of international standards as an implementation guideline will ease of the process and neutralize different requirements from various countries. Fifth, any accountability of incidents must be agreed upon at the ASEAN policy level. Sixth, certification might be extended to certification of risk assessment for organizations, products or

It is for the first time that quantum simulation for high-energy physics (HEP) is studied in the U.S. decadal particle-physics community planning, and in fact until recently, this was not considered a mainstream topic in the community. This fact speaks of a remarkable rate of growth of this subfield over the past few years, stimulated by the impressive advancements in quantum information sciences (QIS) and associated technologies over the past decade, and the significant investment in this area by the government and private sectors in the U.S. and other countries. High-energy physicists have quickly identified problems of importance to our understanding of nature at the most fundamental level, from tiniest distances to cosmological extents, that are intractable with classical computers but may benefit from quantum advantage. They have initiated, and continue to carry out, a vigorous program in theory, algorithm, and hardware co-design for simulations of relevance to the HEP mission. This Roadmap is an attempt to bring this exciting and yet challenging area of research to the spotlight, and to elaborate on what the promises, requirements, challenges, and potential solutions are over the next decade and beyond.

INTRODUCTION Understanding the neurometabolic changes associated with amyloid-β (Aβ) deposition is important for early Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but their spatial relationships remained unexplored due to technical limitations. METHODS We investigated the relationship between Aβ deposition and neuronal and glial metabolites using high-resolution 3D magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) (8-min scan, 2 × 3 × 3 mm 3 resolution) and Aβ-positron emission tomography (Aβ-PET) imaging. N-acetylaspartate, myo-inositol, and creatine maps were obtained from 174 participants: 39 controls, 65 mild cognitive impairment (MCI), and 70 AD patients. RESULTS N-Acetylaspartate levels were negatively correlated with Aβ, while myo-inositol levels were positively correlated globally. Regional associations with Aβ include N-acetylaspartate reductions in frontal cortex, anterior cingulate cortex, and precuneus, and myo-inositol increases in precuneus, lateral temporal, and lateral parietal cortices. Combined MRSI and PET biomarkers achieved the highest diagnostic accuracy for MCI and AD
. DISCUSSION Hybrid high-resolution 3D MRSI and Aβ-PET imaging provides valuable insights into Aβ’s impact on neurometabolic changes, improving early AD diagnosis. Highlights Hybrid 3D magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging–positron emission tomography (MRSI-PET) imaging reveals Aβ deposition impact on neurometabolism in Alzheimer's disease (AD). N-acetylaspartate (NAA) as a neuronal metabolic marker is negatively associated with Aβ globally and locally. Myo-inositol (mI) as a glial metabolic marker is positively associated with Aβ globally and locally. Combining 3D magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) and PET biomarkers improves diagnostic accuracy for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and AD.
