In this paper, we consider encoding strategies for the Z-channel with noiseless feedback. We analyze the combinatorial setting where the maximum number of errors inflicted by an adversary is proportional to the number of transmissions, which goes to infinity. Without feedback, it is known that the rate of optimal asymmetric-error-correcting codes for the error fraction τ ≥ 1/4 vanishes as the blocklength grows. In modern and interconnected world, information is accumulatively stored digitally, making the process of exchanging, gathering and querying the information much easier. Continuously, it has introduced new challenges about how to ensure its consistency and reliability due to the sheer volume of data. A blockchain-based information system can provide an incorruptible record of history, enabling better auditing and data management practices. The paper describes how to combine an Exonum blockchain and a Neo4j graph database into a system that can provide a verifiable audit trail of data integrity and its modifications for information stored in a graph database.

Tensor completion via gaussian process based initialization

In this paper, we consider the tensor completion problem representing the solution in the tensor train (TT) format. It is assumed that tensor is high-dimensional, and tensor values are generated by an unknown smooth function. The assumption allows us to develop an efficient initialization scheme based on Gaussian Process Regression and TT-cross approximation technique. The proposed approach can be used in conjunction with any optimization algorithm that is usually utilized in tensor completion problems. We empirically justify that in this case the reconstruction error improves compared to the tensor completion with random initialization. We study conformations of the Gaussian polymer chains in d-dimensional space in the presence of an external field with the harmonic potential. We apply a path integral approach to derive an explicit expression for the probability distribution function of the gyration radius. Metals in the diffuse, ionized gas at the boundary between the Milky Way’s interstellar medium (ISM) and circumgalactic medium (CGM), known as the disk-halo interface (DHI), are valuable tracers of the feedback processes that drive the Galactic fountain. However, metallicity measurements in this region are challenging due to obscuration by the Milky Way ISM and uncertain ionization corrections that affect the total hydrogen column density. In this work, we constrain the ionization corrections to neutral hydrogen column densities using precisely measured electron column densities from the dispersion measure of pulsars that lie in the same globular clusters as UV-bright targets with high-resolution absorption spectroscopy. We address the blending of absorption lines with the ISM by jointly fitting Voigt profiles to all absorption components. We present our metallicity estimates for the DHI of the Milky Way based on detailed photoionization modeling to the absorption from ionized metal lines and ionization-corrected total hydrogen columns. Generally, the gas clouds show a large scatter in metallicity, ranging between 0.04 − 3.2 Z, implying that the DHI consists of a mixture of gaseous structures having multiple origins. We estimate the inflow and outflow timescales of the DHI ionized clouds to be 6 − 35 Myr. We report the detection of an infalling cloud with super-solar metallicity that suggests a Galactic fountain mechanism, whereas at least one low-metallicity outflowing cloud (Z © 2024, CC BY.

eSports is a developing multidisciplinary research area. At present, there is a lack of relevant data collected from real eSports athletes and lack of platforms which could be used for the data collection and further analysis. In this paper, we present a sensing system for enabling the data collection from professional athletes. Also, we report on the case study about collecting and analyzing the gaze data from Monolith professional eSports team specializing in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) discipline. We perform a comparative study on assessing the gaze of amateur players and professional athletes. The results of our work are vital for ensuring eSports data collection and the following analysis in the scope of scouting or assessing the eSports players and athletes.

Guo, Kopparty, and Sudan introduced the notion of lifted Reed-Solomon codes in the context of locally correctable codes. We continue the study of lifted codes with the application for so-called t-disjoint-repair-group property (t-DRGP) codes. A code is said to have the t-DRGP if every symbol in a codeword from the code has t mutually disjoint recovering sets of coordinates in the codeword. In some parameter regimes, our proposed t-DRGP codes based on lifted codes have lower redundancy than previously known t-DRGP codes.

eSports industry has greatly progressed within the last decade in terms of audience and fund rising, broadcasting, networking and hardware. Since the number and quality of professional team has evolved too, there is a reasonable need in improving skills and training process of professional eSports athletes. In this work, we demonstrate a system able to collect heterogeneous data (physiological, environmental, video, telemetry) and guarantying synchronization with 10 ms accuracy. In particular, we demonstrate how to synchronize various sensors and ensure post synchronization, i.e. logged video, a so-called demo file, with the sensors data. Our experimental results achieved on the CS:GO game discipline show up to 3 ms accuracy of the time synchronization of the gaming computer.

The diversification is a classic approach to reduce investor risks. Blockchain and smart contracts allow tokenizing heterogeneous assets into a commodity and open a new tool for it. The authors describe how to apply the approach to the various finance cases from peer-to-peer lending to real estate and leases, and theoretically estimate minimum token package size to ensure the given reliability parameter.
