Cognitive radio is used for enhancement of spectrum *** many works have been accomplished on the power allocation of cognitive radio,limited efforts have considered evolutionary *** this paper,we study this problem in the cognitive radio networks where interference constraints are defined for protection of quality of service（QoS）for both primary and secondary *** defined as functions of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio（SINR） are matched for each secondary user which meets Nash’s *** general,the region of utilities that meets the constraints is *** is possible to make simplifications,generate a convex region,and then use common convex optimization approaches to obtain a ***,Particle Swarm Optimization（PSO）does not need such simplifications and thus its results are superior to those of the convex optimization *** is an evolutionary algorithm based on social intelligence,utilized in many optimization *** is a global optimizations algorithm that does not require the objective function be differentiable as required in classic optimization methods.

This paper studies the real-time adaptive and repetitive control problem using the Desired Compensation Learning Law (DCLL) that has the advantage of robustness under the presence of unknown parameters with low memory requirement. The control structure of DCLL consists of a feedforward compensator that is designed by a linear combination of shape functions that is adaptable to parameter variations;hence the selection of appropriate shape functions plays an important role in the adaptive ability and accuracy of DCLL. In this study, the B-spline shape function is proposed to be used under the slowly updating scheme and the obtained results show that the robustness and accuracy of the tracking can be greatly improved even under payload variation and torque limits.

The paper analyzed and model of a fault tolerant electromechanical controlled worm gear driven fuel shut off valve for aerospace application. The analysis is mainly on design a reduced order fractional controller. This is for controlling the velocity of worm gear so that the friction torque due to uneven rotational speed can be avoided. Because with the friction and stiction and backlash the valve system performance is reduced and more and more unstable this leads the system to failure. The proposed controller can provide robustness against the uncertain loading torque and system parameter.

In this paper, the modules for the conceptual design of an innovative e-learning platform using satellite communications for teaching control systems theory courses are presented. All necessary tools and mechanisms are provided enabling real time text, and audio/video based communication between tutors and learners. The end-user driven services include: virtual classroom, offline operation, sharing of applications, private/ public chatting, audio/video streaming. A concise description of the pilot architecture which depends on the DVB-RCS standard is presented justifying further the choice of the proposed platform. Simulation results concerning the teaching of fundamental issues in Networked control Theory within the proposed architecture are provided. Connections with hybrid configurations such as wireless terrestrial broad-band technologies (DVB-RCS/WiMAX, DVB-RCS/Wi-Fi) are further justified.

We apply recent results on robust global asymptotic stabilization of the attitude of a single rigid body to the problem of synchronizing the attitude of a network of rigid bodies using graph-local information. The proposed synchronization scheme relies on a hysteretic hybrid feedback based on the unit quaternion representation of rigid body attitude to achieve a global synchronization result that is robust to measurement noise. While the hysteretic feedback manages a trade-off between robustness to measurement noise and unwinding, the scheme necessitates the communication of a single binary logic variable between neighboring rigid bodies. © 2010 AACC.

This paper presents a registration framework for curve skeleton of 3D models. The algorithm matches two skeletons and deforms a source skeleton to the other target skeleton, so that each node aligns with its closest point on the target skeleton in a non-rigid manner. Transformations defined on each individual skeletal node is optimized to minimize a weighted combination of three errors: the Data Error, Smoothness error, and Length-Preserving Error. The registration can apply to a set of non-isomorphic skeletons robustly and generate a compatible deforming sequence, desirable for many geometric processing tasks. We demonstrate effectiveness of our skeleton matching framework on various 3D models. ©2010 IEEE.

From field-scale measurements to global climate simulations and remote sensing, the growing body of very large and long time series Earth science data are increasingly difficult to analyze, visualize, and interpret. Data mining, information theoretic, and machine learning techniques—such as cluster analysis, singular value decomposition, block entropy, Fourier and wavelet analysis, phase-space reconstruction, and artificial neural networks—are being applied to problems of segmentation, feature extraction, change detection, model-data comparison, and model validation. The size and complexity of Earth science data exceed the limits of most analysis tools and the capacities of desktop computers. New scalable analysis and visualization tools, running on parallel cluster computers and supercomputers, are required to analyze data of this magnitude. This workshop will demonstrate how data mining techniques are applied in the Earth sciences and describe innovative computer science methods that support analysis and discovery in the Earth sciences.

This paper addresses the computation of the L2-induced gain for switched linear systems. The main contribution of the paper is to completely characterize the induced gain of a switched system though a differential inequalities on a finitely parametrized common storage function, one equation for each system being switched. The motivation for computing the induced gain of a switched system is the application of robust stability tools to the analysis of hybrid systems. © 2010 AACC.

Recent demand and interest in wireless, mobile-based healthcare has driven significant interest towards developing alternative biopotential electrodes for patient physiological monitoring. The conventional wet adhesive Ag/AgCl electrodes used almost universally in clinical applications today provide an excellent signal but are cumbersome and irritating for mobile use. While electrodes that operate without gels, adhesives and even skin contact have been known for many decades, they have yet to achieve any acceptance for medical use. In addition, detailed knowledge and comparisons between different electrodes are not well known in the literature. In this paper, we explore the use of dry/noncontact electrodes for clinical use by first explaining the electrical models for dry, insulated and noncontact electrodes and show the performance limits, along with measured data. The theory and data show that the common practice of minimizing electrode resistance may not always be necessary and actually lead to increased noise depending on coupling capacitance. Theoretical analysis is followed by an extensive review of the latest dry electrode developments in the literature. The paper concludes with highlighting some of the novel systems that dry electrode technology has enabled for cardiac and neural monitoring followed by a discussion of the current challenges and a roadmap going forward. © 2008 IEEE.
