Physical systems with symmetry arise abundantly in applications, and are endowed with interesting mathematical structures. The present paper focusses on linear reciprocal and input-output Hamiltonian systems. Their characterization is studied from an input-output as well as from a state point of view. Geometrically, it turns out that they both define Lagrangian subspaces with corresponding generating functionals. Furthermore, the relations with time reversibility are analyzed. The system classes under consideration are expected to admit scalable control laws, and to be important building blocks in design. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The insistence of this paper is to design Fractional order-proportional Integral Derivative (FO-PID) and Integral order -Proportional Integral Derivative (IO-PID) controllers for trajectory tracking control of Twin rotor Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) system (TRMS). The aim of these designed controllers is to move the main and tail actuator at the desired angles accurately to fulfill the demanding attributes so that TRMS should stabilize while hovering. The controller parameters of both the controllers are optimized using fmincon function as well as Multiobjective genetic algorithm. Both the controller are tested in real time and their performance are compared for control of yaw and pitch angles of TRMS. Manual disturbances are given at after 40 seconds of first given disturbance, and the designed controllers are highly capable in diminishing quickly the effect of manual perturbations given to the main and tail rotor of TRMS. From experiment it is observed from comparative performance that FO-PID controller tuned using multiobjective genetic algorithm give best performance in term of time taken to stabilization after the given disturbance. © 2020 The Authors. In pursuit-evasion the objective of the pursuer is to capture the evader. In this work, the faster pursuer is modeled to have limited range and therefore optimal strategies for the pursuer and evader change. Depending upon the range limits of the pursuer the evader may evade capture by the pursuer. This paper describes the optimal strategies and nuances that appear for point-capture or when the pursuer is endowed with a non-zero capture radius.

With the vigorous development of electricity spot market and the rapid transformation of energy structure in China, market risks have significantly increased, making the risk early warning mechanism an essential tool for guaranteeing the safe operation of the market. This paper proposes a data-driven risk identification and comprehensive risk level early warning model for the electricity spot market. Firstly, based on the characteristics of the market, Latin hypercube sampling is utilized to construct a diverse set of scenarios which simulate the market operations. Multiple risk indicators are established, and risks are quantified through a market clearing model. Subsequently, the matter-element extension cloud model (MEECM) improved by the cloud entropy optimization algorithm is employed to classify the risks into five levels, ranging from I to V, for each time period. Finally, multiple deep neural networks are constructed to accurately predict single risk indicators for a single time period, and the MEECM is utilized to achieve an overall operational risk rating and early warning for the market. The results of case study demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model in risk early warning.

There are many models of memristors, but there are no reports on exponential memristors. In this paper, a three- dimension memristor Rucklidge system with exponential memristor is proposed by introducing exponential function and constructing exponential memristor. The dynamic behavior of the system is analyzed by means of Lyapunov exponent and bifurcation diagram. The complex attractor coexistence and amplitude modulation characteristics of the system are found. The internal variable of memristor is introduced into the second two-dimensional equation as a feedback term, and a conditional symmetric system is constructed for the three-dimensional memristor system, which can realize the polarity control of output signal. By discussing the dynamic characteristics of exponential memristor chaotic system and the control mechanism of amplitude modulation, bias and conditional symmetry, the complex dynamic characteristics of exponential function memristor are revealed, which lays a foundation for its application in the field of secure communication. © 2023 IEEE.

Continuous-variable (CV) teleportation is a fundamental protocol in quantum information science. A number of experiments have been designed to simulate ideal teleportation under realistic conditions. In this paper, we detail an analytical approach for determining optimal input states for quantifying the performance of CV unidirectional and bidirectional teleportation. The metric that we consider for quantifying performance is the energy-constrained channel fidelity between ideal teleportation and its experimental implementation, and along with this, our focus is on determining optimal input states for distinguishing the ideal process from the experimental one. We prove that, under certain energy constraints, the optimal input state in unidirectional as well as bidirectional teleportation is a finite entangled superposition of twin-Fock states saturating the energy constraint. Moreover, we also prove that, under the same constraints, the optimal states are unique; that is, there is no other optimal finite entangled superposition of twin-Fock states.

In this paper, we investigate the problem of reference tracking for a class of linear systems subject to actuator saturation and propose a performance-based model recovery anti-windup strategy. We adopt the classic model recovery anti-windup framework and regard the states or one of the outputs of the anti-windup compensator as the tracking error, by which the difference between the unconstrained system and the saturated system is quantified. Then, instead of employing the commonly used $\mathcal{L}_{2}$ gain, we present the prescribed performance functions (PPFs) to characterize the real-time tracking error such that the system performance can be captured more specifically. In particular, to avoid singular issues arising from the occurrence of saturation, we modify the existing PPFs with an auxiliary system when saturation occurs. Based on these modified performance functions, we follow a modified prescribed performance control approach and design the remaining output of the anti-windup compensator. Such a design procedure is constructive, making it more promising for extension to nonlinear systems. Theoretical results establish the boundedness of all signals in the closed-loop system. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of our design strategy.

Efficient Contextformer: Spatio-Channel Window Attention for Fast Context Modeling in Learned Image Compression

Entropy estimation is essential for the performance of learned image compression. It has been demonstrated that a transformer-based entropy model is of critical importance for achieving a high compression ratio, however, at the expense of a significant computational effort. In this work, we introduce the Efficient Contextformer (eContextformer) - a computationally efficient transformer-based autoregressive context model for learned image compression. The eContextformer efficiently fuses the patch-wise, checkered, and channel-wise grouping techniques for parallel context modeling, and introduces a shifted window spatio-channel attention mechanism. We explore better training strategies and architectural designs and introduce additional complexity optimizations. During decoding, the proposed optimization techniques dynamically scale the attention span and cache the previous attention computations, drastically reducing the model and runtime complexity. Compared to the non-parallel approach, our proposal has ∼145x lower model complexity and ∼210x faster decoding speed, and achieves higher average bit savings on Kodak, CLIC2020, and Tecnick datasets. Additionally, the low complexity of our context model enables online rate-distortion algorithms, which further improve the compression performance. We achieve up to 17% bitrate savings over the intra coding of Versatile Video Coding (VVC) Test Model (VTM) 16.2 and surpass various learning-based compression models. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

In current granular clustering algorithms, numeric representatives were selected by users or an ordinary strategy, which seemed simple; meanwhile, weight settings for granular data could not adequately express their structural characteristics. Aiming at these problems, in this study, a new scheme called a granular weighted kernel fuzzy clustering (GWKFC) algorithm is put forward. We propose the representative selection and granularity generation (RSGG) algorithm enlightened by the density peak clustering (DPC) algorithm. We build interval and triangular granular data on the strength of numeric representatives obtained by RSGG under the principle of justifiable granularity (PJG), in which we establish some combinations of functions and boundary constraints and prove their properties. Furthermore, we present a novel distance formula via the kernel function for granular data and design new weights to affect the coverage and specificity of granular data. In addition, based upon these factors, we come up with the GWKFC algorithm of granular clustering, and its performance with different granularity is assessed. To sum up, a macro framework involving granular modeling, granular clustering, and assessment has been set up. Lastly, the GWKFC algorithm and ten other granular clustering algorithms are compared by experiments on some artificial and UCI datasets together with datasets with large data or those of high dimensionality. It is found that the GWKFC algorithm can provide better granular clustering results by contrast with other algorithms. The originality is embodied as follows. First, we improve the previous density radius and present the RSGG algorithm to acquire numeric representatives. Second, we propose a new strategy to determine granular data boundaries and further obtain novel weights enlightened by the idea of volume.
