This paper studies fault-tolerant control of the spacecraft attitude control system with prescribed performance under the coexistence of actuator faults, disturbances and uncertainties. First, a flexible appointed-time prescribed performance function (FAPPF) is proposed, which can significantly improve prescribed performance control robustness to unknown initial errors and avoid repeated and cumbersome parameter adjustments. Secondly, an equivalent fusion error is designed based on FAPPF, and terminal sliding mode is introduced to design a fault-tolerant controller, so that the attitude and angular rate meet the prescribed performance constraints at the same time. Further, the improved gray wolf optimization algorithm (IGWO) is introduced for online tolerant allocation of actuator control, which satisfies saturation and fault constraints while reducing energy consumption. Finally, numerical simulation proves the controller’s superiority and robustness.

Reactive power is local and needs to be consumed locally;therefore, this paper investigates a sub-regional local market for reactive auxiliary services, where the power trading agency is responsible for receiving and aggregating the operating cost bids and opportunity loss bids from power generating companies. The power dispatch agency aims to minimize each local market's reactive power procurement costs, thereby minimizing reactive power generation subject to system constraints and voltage support. In this paper, a sub-regional reactive auxiliary services market clearing model with distributed energy participation is proposed and tested on an IEEE 24 bus system with each region as a node. The results show that the reactive market mechanism provided in this paper can incentivize extensive participation of new energy units and maintain sufficient reactive reserves and that the market power of individual units can be controlled within reasonable limits. © 2022 IEEE.

Net load forecasting is crucial for energy planning and facilitating informed decision-making regarding trade and load distributions. However, evaluating forecasting models' performance against benchmark models remains challenging, thereby impeding experts' trust in the model's performance. In this context, there is a demand for technological interventions that allow scientists to compare models across various timeframes and solar penetration levels. This paper introduces a visual analytics-based application designed to compare the performance of deep-learning-based net load forecasting models with other models for probabilistic net load forecasting. This application employs carefully selected visual analytic interventions, enabling users to discern differences in model performance across different solar penetration levels, dataset resolutions, and hours of the day over multiple months. We also present observations made using our application through a case study, demonstrating the effectiveness of visualizations in aiding scientists in making informed decisions and enhancing trust in net load forecasting models.

This paper establishes an age-structured Tuberculosis(TB)model to investigate the joint impacts of information and immigration of population on the spread of TB ***,we show that the model is point dissipative,and the semi-flow generated by the model has the property of asymptotic smoothness,and then study the existence and global stability of positive steady state by the direct Lyapunov ***,by using Matlab software,we verify the theoretical results,and further explore the influence of information(including information coverage and disease-related memory delay)and immigration on the final size of TB *** simulation results show that both information coverage and immigration are positive correlated with the final size of disease,and disease-related memory delay can affect the arrival time of positive steady state,which implies us that improving information coverage,enlarging disease-related memory,and reducing the immigration of population(especially latent and infected individuals)can effectively control the progression of TB disease.

With the wide application of wireless LAN, the real-time and differentiated services of IEEE 802.11 MAC are becoming more and more important. IEEE 802.11 uses CSMA/CA mechanism in MAC layer to coordinate access, but it does not meet the different requirements of different users for QoS. Considering the different requirements of different priority users for QoS, a solution is proposed for this problem. The core idea of this strategy is: in a multi rate network, according to the priority of nodes in the network, through adaptive optimization of relevant parameters, the probability of high priority nodes accessing the channel can be improved, and its throughput can be improved accordingly;The channel access probability of nodes with lower priority is reduced accordingly, and the throughput is reduced accordingly. Therefore, this policy can expand the throughput of each priority and realize the service differentiation function. © 2022 IEEE.

Cubesats have emerged as a cost-effective solution for a wide range of space-based applications, making them increasingly popular for both research and commercial missions. However, ensuring Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance is crucial for the success of CubeSat missions. To maximize the chances of mission success, EMC considerations should be integrated into the early design phases of the CubeSat and carefully tested and verified throughout the development process. This paper provides an overview of the EMC aspects related to CubeSats, including the challenges that developers and researchers face when dealing with EMC, and propose a Low cost Line Impedance Stabilization Network that can be used for EMC pre-compliance testing of subsystems before integration.

Accurate net load forecasting is vital for energy planning, aiding decisions on trade and load distribution. However, assessing the performance of forecasting models across diverse input variables, like temperature and humidity, remains challenging, particularly for eliciting a high degree of trust in the model outcomes. In this context, there is a growing need for data-driven technological interventions to aid scientists in comprehending how models react to both noisy and clean input variables, thus shedding light on complex behaviors and fostering confidence in the outcomes. In this paper, we present Forte, a visual analytics-based application to explore deep probabilistic net load forecasting models across various input variables and understand the error rates for different scenarios. With carefully designed visual interventions, this web-based interface empowers scientists to derive insights about model performance by simulating diverse scenarios, facilitating an informed decision-making process. We discuss observations made using Forte and demonstrate the effectiveness of visualization techniques to provide valuable insights into the correlation between weather inputs and net load forecasts, ultimately advancing grid capabilities by improving trust in forecasting models.

There is a necessary combustion facility called the flare stack to ensure production safety in every petrochemical plant, smelter, and refinery all over the world. Because of the incomplete combustion of flare gas, the flare stack discharges a large amount of smoke into the atmosphere and make it dirty. The air pollution is becoming more and more serious caused worldwide concern. Hence, there is in desperate need of an efficient and available smoke detection method to protect the atmosphere. To this end, we present a novel self-attention weight transformer (SAWT) that can detect accurately smoke, then guarantee full combustion of the flare stack. First, we are concerned about the weight relationship between channels and draw on the self-attention mechanism in the MobileViT block structure to adaptively adjust channel-wise feature weight. Second, we leverage short connections to thoroughly learn and fuse local and global features. Results of experiments on a real smoke dataset reveal that the proposed SAWT achieves superior performance to the popular deep CNNs and state-of-the-art smoke detection algorithms. © 2024 SPIE.

Until now, only the PID has been used to control DC/DC converters for a Nanosatellite's Electrical Power System (EPS), thus, the goal of this work is to investigate the feasibility of other methods. This paper focuses on a comparative study of SMC and LQR for the regulation of a Buck converter used in EPS. A study is done to evaluate their efficiency, using MATLAB/Simulink, in response to various fluctuations in voltage source, reference voltage and resistive load. To estimate the system's states and filter the noise in the measurements, a Kalman filter is utilized. In terms of recovery time, settling time and under/overshoots, SMC outperforms the other controllers, however, the control input suffers from the chattering effect and high magnitude peaks. The SMC recovery time to a change in the load is 0.677ms, while LQR takes 1.583ms to recover. PID, on the other hand, is slower with a recovery time of 3.068ms. SMC also presents the lowest steady state error which is less than 0.01%, whereas LQR and PID have an error less than 0.36% and 0.56%, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Fine particles associated with haze pollution threaten the health of over 400 million people in China. Owing to excellent non-destructive fingerprint recognition characteristics, Raman and surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) are often used to analyze the composition of fine particles to determine their physical and chemical properties as well as reaction mechanisms. However, there is no comprehensive Raman spectral library of fine particles. Furthermore, various studies that used SERS for fine-particle composition analysis showed that the uniqueness of the SERS substrates and different excitation wavelengths can produce a different spectrum for the same fine-particle component. To overcome this limitation, we conducted SERS experiments with a portable Raman spectrometer using two common SERS substrates(silver(Ag) foil and gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)) and a 785 nm laser. Herein, we introduced three main particle component types(sulfate-nitrate-ammonium(SNA), organic material, and soot) with a total of 39 chemical substances. We scanned the solid Raman, liquid Raman, and SERS spectra of these substances and constructed a fine-particle reference library containing 105 spectra. Spectral results indicated that for soot and SNA, the differences in characteristic peaks mainly originated from the solid-liquid phase transition;Ag foil had little effect on this difference, while the Au NPs caused a significant red shift in the peak positions of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Moreover, with various characteristic peak positions in the three types of spectra, we could quickly and correctly distinguish substances. We hope that this spectral library will aid in the future identification of fine particles.
