An effective parallelization of finite volume computations for heat transfer application using unstructured triangular meshes and mesh partitioning algorithms are presented. The mesh partitioning software (METIS) is employed to create nearly load balanced subdomains and to minimize the interprocessor communications. Efficient data structures are developed to handle the neighboring element information at the interfaces of all subdomains and a simple strategy to overlap the computations to communications has been implemented for improving the performance of the program. The explicit time integration method is used and the results for the rectangular domain and L-shaped domain have been presented. The code (PHEAT2D) is written in Fortran90 and MPI for message passing is used. The algorithm is tested on distributed memory MIMD machine, PARAM OPENFRAME.

The development of the manufacturing industry reflects the productivity in a country or region to a certain extent. The informatization plays an increasingly important role in manufacturing. At present, there is still a phenomenon of insufficient transparency and low security performance in the manufacturing industry, which hinders the further development of the manufacturing industry. This paper proposes an intelligent manufacturing information security sharing model based on blockchain technology. The blockchain system can store product information and transaction information in the blocks which can achieve traceability of product information. The information is strengthened in real time, and the consensus mechanism and encryption algorithm are used to ensure that the product cannot be tampered. This information-sharing mechanism has promoted the development of smart manufacturing to a certain extent. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

The current Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) key delivery API relies on HTTPS for secure communication. It is vulnerable to quantum computer threats due to its use of public key cryptography. To mitigate insider attacks, leveraging quantum computing threats within the security boundary and encrypting communication between the application and the KMS is essential. This paper focuses on simulating a 2-node QKD topology using the DARPAN Application. Additionally, we conduct tests on QKD KMS APIs with the Postman tool to ensure consistent retrieval of shared keys at both communication endpoints. Through our simulations and tests, we aim to validate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed approach in securely managing cryptographic keys within the QKD-network.

Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is a secure communication method that uses quantum mechanics to exchange secret keys. Currently, the QKD process uses a static error correction method, which can lead to inaccuracies and inefficient resource use. The project aims to develop a new QKD error correction method that adapts dynamically based on real-time Quantum Bit Error Rate (QBER) measurements and Software Defined Networking (SDN) principles. Two specific error correction mechanisms, the 2D Parity check and the Cascade Protocol, will be used to match the QBER value. The investigation will be conducted using the DARPAN application, providing a quantum-enabled environment.

This study presents a conceptual paper on developing a model of cyberterrorists’ rhetorical structure. The objectives of the study are to identify the type of rhetoric’s in cyber terrorists’ communication, analyze how the cyber terrorists utilize appeal to audience, stylistic devices and argumentation in their communication and to propose a model of cyber terrorists’ rhetorical structure. A rhetorical analysis is conducted by examining recent cyberterrorists sites in popular media. Several categories are utilized;Appeal to the audience;Stylistic devices and Argumentation model. Fuzzy rule-based systems suffer from the so-called curse of dimensionality when applied to high complexity datasets, which consist of a large number of variables and/or examples. Fuzzy rule-based multiclassification systems have shown to be a good approach to deal with this kind of problems. In this contribution, we would like to take one step forward and extend this approach with random oracles with the aim that this fast and generic method induces more diversity and in this way improves the performance of the system. We will conduct exhaustive experiments considering 29 UCI and KEEL datasets with high complexity (considering both a number of attributes as well as a number of examples). The results obtained are promising and show that random oracles fuzzy rule-based multiclassification systems can be competitive with random oracles multiclassification systems using state-of-the-art base classifiers, when dealing with high complexity datasets.

Recent studies on magnetization dynamics induced by spin-orbit torque have revealed a weak dependence of the critical current for magnetization switching on the damping constant of a ferromagnetic free layer. This study, however, reveals that the damping constant nevertheless plays a key role in magnetization switching induced by spin-orbit torque. An undesirable switching, returning to an initial state, named as back switching, occurs in a ferromagnet with an easy axis parallel to the current direction. Numerical and theoretical analyses reveal that back switching is strongly suppressed when the damping constant of the ferromagnet is large. © 2020, CC-BY.

kNN is a fundamental query in various location based services such as POI recommendation and ride planning. There is an increasing demand to scale such services by querying over a data federation, where the entire dataset is distributedly held by multiple data providers (a.k.a., silos), and each silo keeps its data partition private. However, it is challenging to provide secure kNN queries over a large-scale data federation. Prior secure kNN queries can be are highly inefficient if performed cross silos because they involve excessive secure distance operations, which can be two or three orders of magnitude slower than the corresponding plaintext operations. In this work, we propose a novel threshold based framework for efficient kNN queries over a spatial data federation. The key idea is to rewrite excessive secure distance computations as light-weight secure operations. We further propose an adaptive threshold algorithm to reduce the secure communication rounds and accelerate the query processing. Extensive evaluations on both synthetic and real-world datasets show that compared with the state-of-the-art secure kNN querying methods, our solutions reduce the time cost by up to 104.1 times and communication cost by three orders of magnitude.

Global operation and system control are important issues in massively parallel systems. The paper discusses virtual control networks (VCNs), which are substitutes for the current dedicated control networks. First we introduce a new mechanism called Virtual Control Channel (VCC) used to conduct control information over data network links. The network nodes have control finite state machines (CFSMs) and a VCN is composed of CFSMs. The VCC performs the role of a connection wire between CFSMs. The mechanisms are applied to the RWC-1 machine. The simulation results reveal that reduction and broadcasting operations are efficiently executed on VCNs by exploiting the tree structure.
