Many real-world problems can be represented as graph-based learning problems. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for learning spatial and attentional convolution neural networks on arbitrary graphs. Different from previous convolutional neural networks on graphs, we first design a motif-matching guided subgraph normalization method to capture neighborhood information. Then we implement subgraph-level self-attentional layers to learn different importances from different subgraphs to solve graph classification problems. Analogous to image-based attentional convolution networks that operate on locally connected and weighted regions of the input, we also extend graph normalization from one-dimensional node sequence to two-dimensional node grid by leveraging motif-matching, and design self-attentional layers without requiring any kinds of cost depending on prior knowledge of the graph structure. Our results on both bioinformatics and social network datasets show that we can significantly improve graph classification benchmarks over traditional graph kernel and existing deep models. Cyber forensics analysis is the procedure to find crucial evidence with respect to a crime from a digital media. Malware forensics and Network security plays a crucial role in the current scenario where malware attacks are a common problem. A malicious software which can be commonly termed as a malware would cause interruption to a computer operation and may collect necessary information or illegally access private systems. A malware may either take the form of a script, code, spyware and many other kinds of malicious programs. Reverse engineering principles are applied in this domain to analyze malware. It is the comprehensive process of breaking software to figure out how it works. This paper proposes an advanced and resource friendly malware forensics analysis procedure which uses the principles of static analysis to figure out the exact purpose of an executable file. Portable executable format can be explored with higher accuracy using the proposed method.

This study investigates the electrocoagulation/permanganate (EC/PM) process as a pre-treatment, followed by UV-activated peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and electro-peroxone (EP) treatments. This sequence is designed to effectively mineralize organic matter. Notably, PM was integrated into the EC process for the first time to enhance removal efficiency. The iron sludge generated from the EC/PM process (sludge-derived electrocoagulation;SDEC) was repurposed as a cost-effective source of iron oxide in the PMS/SDEC/UV treatment. Treatment optimization was achieved by adjusting the main operating parameters. A comprehensive analysis was conducted to assess the biodegradability and toxicity of the leachate post-treatment, including measurements of COD, BOD, TOC, ammonia levels, average oxidation state, biodegradability, organic carbon content, and spectroscopic methods. The results demonstrated substantial removal efficiencies across the treatment stages, with 98.9 % for COD, 94.9 % for BOD, 96.4 % for TOC, and 97.7 % for ammonia. Spectroscopic changes indicated that the leachate was broken down into smaller, more oxidized, and highly acidic molecules with an increased aliphatic structure while effectively eliminating aromatic compounds. The BOD5/COD ratio improved to 0.55, indicating that the treated leachate is suitable for biological treatment processes with significantly reduced toxicity. Overall, the sequence of treatment processes yielded promising results. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Disaster situations require resilient ICT systems in order to provide as good as possible communication conditions in such catastrophic circumstances. The resiliency verification of ICT systems is however difficult, because reproducing large-scale disaster conditions in production networks is impossible without affecting their users. In this paper we present an emulation-based approach for evaluating the resiliency of ICT systems in disaster situations. This is achieved by reproducing disaster-like conditions in a emulated environment running on a large-scale test bed on which actual network protocols and applications are executed in real time. The experimental results presented in the paper demonstrate how the effects of both the emulated disasters and those of the recovery technologies we subsequently deploy can be quantified objectively. This methodology can be used to improve the resilience of the systems under test.

PC-RGNN: Point cloud completion and graph neural network for 3D object detection

LiDAR-based 3D object detection is an important task for autonomous driving and current approaches suffer from sparse and partial point clouds of distant and occluded objects. In this paper, we propose a novel two-stage approach, namely PC-RGNN, dealing with such challenges by two specific solutions. On the one hand, we introduce a point cloud completion module to recover high-quality proposals of dense points and entire views with original structures preserved. On the other hand, a graph neural network module is designed, which comprehensively captures relations among points through a local-global attention mechanism as well as multi-scale graph based context aggregation, substantially strengthening encoded features. Extensive experiments on the KITTI benchmark show that the proposed approach outperforms the previous state-of-the-art baselines by remarkable margins, highlighting its effectiveness. Crowd counting for static images is one of the typical application fields of image processing. it is essential to direct crowd analysis for public security purposes under the background of a rapidly growing social environment. Crowd counting for static images involves crucial challenges such as occlusions, scale variations, scene perspective distortions and diverse crowd distributions. It has now become an independent research hotspot. This paper investigates the literature of crowd counting tasks, summarizes the evolution of counting approaches, compares and analyzes traditional methods and current trends of CNN estimation-based counting, and then evaluates common datasets for crowd counting tasks. Conclusions concerning summarizations and prospects are made.

Current tools for self-management of chronic obstructive respiratory diseases (CORD) are difficult to use, not individualized and requiring laborious analysis by health professionals, discouraging their use in healthcare. There is an opportunity for cost-effective and easy-to-disseminate advanced technological solutions directed to patients and attractive to different stakeholders. The strategy of AIRDOC is to develop and integrate self-monitoring and self-managing tools, making use of the smartphone's presence in everyday life. AIRDOC intends to innovate on: i) technologies for remote monitoring of respiratory function and computerized lung auscultation;ii) coaching solutions, integrating psychoeducation, gamification and disease management support systems;and iii) management of personal health data, focusing on security, privacy and interoperability. Although superstores can help visually impaired customers with their in-store shopping, they cannot help them identify the products after the customers take them home. We designed a QR-Label and realized an on-demand printing system for superstores. Visually impaired customers can listen to product information at home through their mobile phone by using it to scan the QR-Label placed on each of the purchased packages. © 2013 IEEE.

The impact of hardware impairments play an crucial role in any practical communication systems, yet they are generally omitted when investigating the performance of distributed massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. In particularly, for millimeter-Wave (mm-Wave) bands, no study has been addressed yet. To overcome this limitation, in this paper a mm-Wave distributed massive multi-user (MU) MIMO system based-hybrid beamforming structure, in which the residual hardware impairments have been incorporated in the transmitter processing, is presented. At each base station (BS), a zero-forcing (ZF) baseband processing is designed over the effective channel to efficiently remove the multi-user (MU) interference. The results show that, relative to the co-located mm-Wave massive MIMO with the same antenna configurations, mm-Wave distributed MIMO achieves a significantly higher performance while reducing the impingement of hardware practical defects.

Spin-based non-volatile memory bit cells have been proposed for applications ranging from logic-in-memory computing to quantum computing. This paper deals with the toggle spin torque magnetic random-access memory (TST-MRAM) bit cell by micromagnetic simulations. The concept of voltage-controlled magnetic anisotropy (VCMA) is utilized to model and simulate the designed cells. In this paper, the TST magnetization precession is studied in a nanopillar spin-valve. The magnetization switching is considered under an external magnetic field, and it is simulated with the micromagnetic simulation (MMS) toolkit to evaluate the designed TST-MRAM bit cell parameters. The present work utilizes different material interfaces (i.e., HM-CoFeB-NM-MgO) to minimize the switching error rates during the MRAM design process. The interfacial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy-based TST-MRAM bit cell obtains less polarization factor, more anisotropic constant, and less saturated magnetization than classical magnetic RAM models. The factors related to the designed bit cell are explained theoretically and graphically in this work. Finally, the parameters have been evaluated for the proposed TST-MRAM bit cell and will take part in the design process. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.
