Emotion recognition is vital in the human computer interaction because it improves interaction. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved method for emotion recognition regarding the Hybrid Autoencoder-Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model and the newly developed hybrid approach of the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) for hyperparameters tuning. In this case, Autoencoder can reduce input data dimensionality for input data and find the features relevant for the model’s work. In addition, LSTM is able to work with temporal structures of sequential inputs like speech and videos. The contribution of this research lies in the novel combination method of ACO-WOA which aims at tweaking hyperparameters of Autoencoder-LSTM model. Global aspect of ACO and WOA thereby improve the search efficiency and the accuracy of the proposed emotion recognition system and its generalization capacity. In context with the benchmark dataset for the experimentations of emotion recognition, it has established the efficiency of the proposed model in terms of the conventional methods. Recall rates in recognitive intended various emotions and different modalities were also higher in the hybrid Autoencoder-LSTM model. The optimization algorithms like the ACO-WOA also supported in reducing the computational cost which arose due to hyperparameters tuning. The implementation of this paper is done through Python Software. This implementation shows a high accuracy of 94.12% and 95.94% for audio datasets and image datasets respectively when compared with other deep learning models of Conv LSTM and VGG16. Therefore, the research shows that the presented hybrid approach can be a useful solution for successfully employing emotion recognition for enhancing the creation of the empathetic AI systems and for improving user interactions within various fields including healthcare, entertainment, and customer support. © (2025), (science and Information Organization). In this paper, we introduce a new dataset for air conditioner refrigerant leak smoke detection, called ACRL-10K. The dataset is designed to develop algorithms for detecting refrigerant leak smoke faults during air conditioner recycling. It contains a total of 10, 724 images covering three common scenarios of air conditioner refrigerant leak: loading port, refrigerant extraction, and disassembly. All images are sourced from 656 video segments of real air conditioner recycling scenarios, captured by surveillance cameras deployed on an environmental company's recycling production line. The annotations for the refrigerant leak smoke in the images are performed by industry experts to ensure high accuracy and consistency. To the best of our knowledge, ACRL-10K is the first dataset specifically designed for refrigerant leak smoke detection. Based on the ACRL-10K dataset, we present the performance of mainstream object detectors, including the YOLO series, as a baseline to conduct the following work: 1) preliminarily summarize the challenges of using the dataset for refrigerant leak smoke detection;2) show the detection results of benchmark methods;and 3) make a comparison to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the baseline algorithms. In practice, the ACRL-10K dataset would hopefully advance research and applications in refrigerant leak early warning during air conditioner dismantling and recycling processes. © 2025 IEEE.

We have developed the self-propelled capsule endoscope. Although it is the same size as a conventional capsule endoscope, with a diameter of 11 mm and a length of 31 mm, it can travel inside the gastrointestinal tract. A running mechanism that uses vibrations allows it to run without any protrusions on the outer shell. Therefore, there is no risk of harming the inside of the body. This is a noteworthy feature of this capsule. Experiments have confirmed that this capsule can travel in the intestines of living dogs. Because the power supply to this capsule needs to continue stably for over an hour, we developed a wireless power supply method to the internal capsule. Conventional wireless power supply with a fixed power transmission coil had the problem that power supply would be interrupted if the capsule moved. Therefore, we investigated stabilizing the power supply by moving the power transmission coil in X-Y to follow the capsule in response to increases and decreases in the power supply. We were able to confirm the feasibility through experiments. This technology can be expected to perform endoscopic examinations with less burden on both patients and doctors, and can also be applied to power supply to medical devices inside the body. © 2024 IEEE.

Improve Harris Hawkes optimizer algorithm via Laplace crossover

Nowadays, the speed of solving optimization problems by increasing various issues and the number of variables is critical. The Harris Hawk optimization method is a brand-new, intelligent system that resolves optimization issues by mathematically simulating the natural behavior of hawks. In this study, the Harris Hawks optimization method and the Laplace crossover operator are merged, and a new enhanced Harris Hawks algorithm (LX-HHO) based on the Laplace optimization algorithm is suggested. The purpose of improving this algorithm is to increase the convergence speed while maintaining good accuracy in achieving the optimal solution. The results of the proposed method on the test functions demonstrate that the algorithm has achieved faster convergence than the original version of the Harris Hawks algorithm and other meta-heuristic algorithms. This is due to the algorithm's accuracy in obtaining the best answer in these functions and to a reduction in the evaluation of the optimization function. Also, comparing and evaluating the proposed algorithm with other algorithms by Friedman and MAE test shows the superiority of the LX-HHO algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Objectives/Scope: X-ray Micro-computer Tomography (μ-CT) has been widely adopted in earth science and petroleum engineering due to its non-destructive characteristic. Meanwhile, this three-dimensional-imaging method can be integrated with computer simulation to investigate petrophysical properties of reservoir rocks at pore scales. However, the application of μ-CT is limited by the trade-off between field of view and resolution, and it is challenging to indicate the pore structure of rocks, especially for shale or carbonate rocks. To address this issue, deep-learning-based super-resolution techniques have rapidly developed in the past few years. Methodology: In this study, a super-resolution algorithm based on the state-of-the-art (STOA) diffusion model is proposed to generate super-resolved CT images for carbonate rocks. The proposed method adapts denoising diffusion probabilistic models to conditional image generation and performs super-resolution through a stochastic denoising process. Cascaded diffusion model is utilized to increase the training speed and generate high fidelity CT images. This method exhibits superior performance in the resolution-enhancement of CT images at various magnification factors (with a large scaling factor of up to 16) without the occurrence of image-noise and image-blurring issue, and the super-resolved CT images performs well for the calculation of petrophysical properties of carbonate rocks. Results: This algorithm is applied to the carbonate rock and the performance of the diffusion model is evaluated by quantitative extraction and qualitative visualization. In addition, this method is compared with other methods, such as GAN, Variational Autoencoder, and Super-Resolution Convolutional Neural Networks (SRCNN). The results indicate that the built model shows excellent potential in enhancing the resolution of heterogeneous carbonate rocks. Wireless power transfer (WPT) has emerged to enhance the robustness of the energy harvesting Internet of Things (EH-IoT), whereas beamforming has been leveraged to significantly boost the efficiency of far-field WPT. Nevertheless, potential negative impacts due to high electromagnetic fields (EMF) exposure for radiation-susceptible users have not been thoroughly considered in the design of WPT for EH-IoT with IoT application-level requirements (e.g., coverage). In this article, we explore the health-aware beamforming and IoT selection problem under the EH and human safety constraints. First, we formulate a new optimization problem Health-Aware Beamforming and IoT Selection (HABIS) and prove the NP-hardness. Second, we design an approximation algorithm, named Minimum Radiation Exposure and Maximum IoT Coverage (MREMIC), to exploit the EH-health dependency (EHHD) graph for properly addressing the trade-off between EH efficiency and potential EMF radiation exposure to human bodies. We also discover the optimal health-aware beamforming to minimize the total radiation energy absorption of humans. Simulation results show that MREMIC can effectively charge IoT devices and significantly outperforms existing EH approaches by more than 200% regarding human safety. © 2002-2012 IEEE.
