Operando X-ray micro-computed tomography(µCT)provides an opportunity to observe the evolution of Li structures inside pouch *** is an essential step to quantitatively analyzingµCT datasets but is challenging to achieve on operando Li-metal battery datasets due to the low X-ray attenuation of the Li metal and the sheer size of the ***,we report a computational approach,batteryNET,to train an Iterative Residual U-Net-based network to detect Li *** resulting semantic segmentation shows singular Li-related component changes,addressing diverse morphologies in the *** addition,visualizations of the dead Li are provided,including calculations about the volume and effective thickness of electrodes,deposited Li,and redeposited *** also report discoveries about the spatial relationships between these *** approach focuses on a method for analyzing battery performance,which brings insight that significantly benefits future Li-metal battery design and a semantic segmentation transferrable to other datasets.

Additives in the electrolytes of Li-S batteries aim to increase overall capacity,improve Li ion conductivity,enhance cyclability,and mitigate the shuttle effect,which is one of the major issues of this ***,the use of water as an additive in the commonly used electrolyte,1.0 M LiTFSI/1.0%(w/w) LiNO_(3) and a 1:1 mixture of 1,3-dioxolane(DOL) and 1,2-dimethoxyethane(DME) was *** used Co_(2)Mn_(0.5)Al_(0.5)O_(4)(CMA) as an electrocatalyst anchored on an activated carbon(AC) electrode with added sulfur via a melt-diffusion *** structural analysis of CMA via Rietveld refinement showed interatomic spaces that can promote ionic conductivity,facilitating Li^(+) ion *** tests determined 1600 ppm as the optimal water concentration,significantly reducing the shuttle ***-mortem XPS analysis focused on the lithium metal anode revealed the formation of Li_(2)O layers in dry samples and LiOH in wet *** capacity was observed in wet samples,which can be attributed to the superior ionic conductivity of LiOH at the electrode/electrolyte interface,surpassing that of Li_(2)O by 12 ***,Operando FTIR experiments provided real-time insights into electrolyte degradation and SEI formation,elucidating the activity mechanisms of water and Li_(2)CO_(3) over the *** work presents results that could aid future advancements in Li-S battery technology,offering possibilities to mitigate its challenges with inexpensive and scalable additives.

Biofuel from microalgae is a promising alternative that can substitute fossil fuels because they are renewable and eco-friendly. The growth of microalgae is influenced by numerous culture parameters, and temperature is considered one of the vital growth factors among them. In this study, we developed a computational growth model related to irradiance related temperature for an outdoor operated Horizontal Loop Tubular Photobioreactor (HLTP) for a specific geographic location. The effects of direct and diffuse solar radiation on the Photobioreactor (PBR) temperature are considered in this model. The meteorological data associated with the geographic location has been collected for the simulation. We simulated the model by COMSOL Multiphysics and ob-served a temperature fluctuation between 24.85 ∘C and 38.45 ∘C throughout the PBR domain. The significant issue of temperature control is also suggested from this study. Over the simulated period, a uniform cell growth has been observed. The hydrodynamic behaviors of the suspension flow inside the reactor, radial and axial temperature distribution are also analyzed in this study. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Edge enabled Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) platform is of great significance to accelerate the development of smart industry. However, with the dramatic increase in real-time IIoT applications, it is a great challenge to support fast response time, low latency, and efficient bandwidth utilization. To address this issue, time sensitive network (TSN) is recently researched to realize low latency communication via deterministic scheduling. To the best of our knowledge, the combinability of multiple flows, which can significantly affect the scheduling performance, has never been systematically analyzed before. In this article, we first analyze the combinability problem. Then, a noncollision theory based deterministic scheduling (NDS) method is proposed to achieve ultralow latency communication for the time-sensitive flows. Moreover, to improve bandwidth utilization, a dynamic queue scheduling (DQS) method is presented for the best-effort flows. Experiment results demonstrate that NDS/DQS can well support deterministic ultralow latency services and guarantee efficient bandwidth utilization. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Despite the huge accumulation of scientific literature,it is inefficient and laborious to manually search it for useful information to investigate structure-activity ***,we propose an efficient text-mining framework for the discovery of credible and valuable domain knowledge from abstracts of scientific literature focusing on Nickel-based single crystal ***,the credibility of abstracts is quantified in terms of source timeliness,publication authority and author’s academic ***,eight entity types and domain dictionaries describing Nickel-based single crystal superalloys are predefined to realize the named entity recognition from the abstracts,achieving an accuracy of 85.10%.Thirdly,by formulating 12 naming rules for the alloy brands derived from the recognized entities,we extract the target entities and refine them as domain knowledge through the credibility *** this,we also map out the academic cooperative“Author-Literature-Institute”network,characterize the generations of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys,as well as obtain the fractions of the most important chemical elements in *** extracted rich and diverse knowledge of Nickel-based single crystal superalloys provides important insights toward understanding the structure-activity relationships for Nickel-based single crystal superalloys and is expected to accelerate the design and discovery of novel superalloys.

The identification and categorization of soiling using artificial intelligence is essential for improving solar photovoltaic (PV) system efficiency. It is possible to use focused and effective cleaning techniques on solar panels by classifying and comprehending the particular types of pollutants. This research proposes a modified convolutional neural network (CNN) approach to efficiently classify soiling on solar PV panels. In contrast to the conventional method, the suggested CNN model is created using simple images rather than images plus time series data. As a result, processing speed is increased. Additionally, the suggested model achieved 96.91 percent accuracy. This success establishes our suggested methodology as a ground-breaking development in soiling type detection, providing improved accuracy and a unique strategy in contrast to current approaches. The trained and tested model is deployed on the web using the Flask. Flask is a powerful and flexible microweb framework for Python, Finally, a comparison is made between the existing method and the proposed method. © 2024 IEEE.

We present two algorithms in the Quantum CONGEST-CLIQUE model of distributed computation that succeed with high probability;one for producing an approximately optimal Steiner Tree, and one for producing an exact directed minimum spanning tree, each of which uses O(n1/4) rounds of communication and Õ(n9/4) messages, achieving a lower asymptotic round and message complexity than any known algorithms in the classical CONGEST-CLIQUE model. At a high level, we achieve these results by combining classical algorithmic frameworks with quantum subroutines. Additionally, we characterize the constants and logarithmic factors involved in our algorithms as well as related classical algorithms, otherwise obscured by O notation, revealing that advances are needed to render both the quantum and classical algorithms practical. © 2023 IEEE.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) is a crucial task in various domains such as healthcare, smart homes, and fitness tracking, where real-time, accurate detection of human activities is required. In this work, we propose a hybrid model combining a Cascaded AutoEncoder (CAE) for feature extraction with a Random Forest (RF) classifier for human activity recognition. The model was evaluated against 9 existing models, including CNN, LSTM, GRU, ResNet, and MobileNet, using various metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F1-score, and inference time. The proposed model achieved a superior accuracy of 93.87%, outperforming models like ResNet (90.11%) and MobileNet (91.23%). Additionally, the model showed competitive precision (92.45%), recall (92.89%), and Fl-score (92.50%), along with an efficient inference time of 21.3 ms, making it suitable for real-time applications. The low memory usage (185 MB) further supports its deployability in resource-constrained environments. These results demonstrate that the hybrid CAE + RF model offers an optimal balance between high classification performance and computational efficiency, making it a powerful solution for HAR tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, stochastic predictive computing networks are exploited to investigate the dynamics of the SIS with vaccination impact based epidemic model (SISV-EM) represented by nonlinear systems of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) by exploitation of artificial neural networks (ANNs) with the backpropagated Levenberg-Marquardt technique (BLMT) i.e., (ANNs-BLMT) to approximate the solution behavior. The stochastic nonlinear SISV-EM is governed with three classes: susceptible, infectious, and vaccinated populations. The referenced or target datasets for ANNs-BLMT are constructed by employing Euler-Maruyama (EM) scheme for solving stochastic differential systems in case of sufficiently various nonlinear SISV-EM scenarios by varying the percentage of vaccination for newly born, the coefficient of transmission, the natural mortality rates, the infectious rates of recovery, the rate at which vaccinated people lose their immunity, the rate of death caused by disease, the proportion of vaccinated against susceptible and the white noise in the environment. Based on arbitrary training, testing, and validation samples from the referenced dataset, the ANNs-BLMT provides an approximate solution for the stochastic nonlinear SISV-EM, with significant correlations to the referenced results. Exhaustive simulation-based results using error histograms, mean square errors, and regression analyses further demonstrate that the proposed ANNs-BLMT is efficient, consistent, and accurate for solving SISV-EM. © 2023 International Association for mathematics and computers in Simulation (IMACS)
