In this paper, we provide a review of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) and explore the applications of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL), and Multi-Agent Credit Assignment Problem (MCA) in CPSs. Our primary focus is on mapping specific domains, including job scheduling, energy management, and smart transport systems, to MAS and applying MARL and MCA techniques to solve the problems. To evaluate the effectiveness of our proposed method, we applied it to the job scheduling problem, using two parameters, CPU and bandwidth, and tested its performance for four different tasks: Face Detection and Window Blind Control (FDWC), Finger Touch and Gate Control (FTGC), Weather Check and Thermostat Control (WCTC), and Temperature Check and Start Fan (TCSF). The results indicate that prioritizing tasks significantly improves the performance of the proposed method. We conclude that MAS, MARL, and MCA are powerful tools for solving problems in CPSs and IoT. Mapping these problems to MAS can help overcome the challenges associated with CPSs and IoT, and improve system performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Twin boundaries have been exploited to stabilize ultrafine grains and improve mechanical properties of *** production of the twin boundaries and nanotwins is however prohibitively challenging in carbide *** a scanning transmission electron microscope as a unique platform for atomic-scale structure engineering,we demonstrate that twin platelets could be produced in carbides by engineering antisite *** antisite defects at metal sites in various layered ternary carbides are collectively and controllably generated,and the metal elements are homogenized by electron irradiation,which transforms a twin-like lamellae into nanotwin *** chemical homogenization,α-Ti_(3)AlC_(2) transforms to unconventionalβ-Ti_(3)AiC_(2).The chemical homogeneity and the width of the twin platelets can be tuned by dose and energy of bombarding *** homogenized nanotwins can boost hardness by~45%.Our results provide a new way to produce ultrathin(<5 nm)nanotwin platelets in scientifically and technologically important carbide materials and showcase feasibility of defect engineering by an angstrom-sized electron probe.

While waveguide-based light concentrators offer significant advantages,their application has not been considered an interesting option for assisting multijunction or other two-terminal tandem solar *** this study,we present a simple yet effective approach to enhancing the output power of transfer-printed multijunction InGaP/GaAs solar *** utilizing a simply combinable waveguide concentrator featuring a coplanar waveguide with BaSO4 Mie scattering elements,we enable the simultaneous absorption of directly illuminated solar flux and indirectly waveguided *** deployment of cells is optimized for front-surface photon collection in monofacial *** systematic comparisons across various waveguide parameters,supported by both experimental and theoretical quantifications,we demonstrate a remarkable improvement in the maximum output power of a 26%-efficient cell,achieving an enhancement of~93%with the integration of the optimal scattering ***,a series of supplementary tests are conducted to explore the effective waveguide size,validate enhancements in arrayed cell module performance,and assess the drawbacks associated with rear *** findings provide a comprehensive understanding of our proposed approach towards advancing multi-junction photovoltaics.

In vehicular edge computing, task offloading optimization is crucial for balancing computational demands with minimizing delays and costs. However, the dynamic nature of the vehicular environment, including vehicle mobility, network topology, and available computing resources, poses significant challenges. This paper presents a task offloading scheme that enables vehicles to dynamically decide between local task execution and offloading to nearby vehicles, edge servers, or the cloud. Our objective is to optimize task offloading by minimizing cost and delay. We integrate graph convolutional networks with deep reinforcement learning to optimize task offloading decisions and achieve our goal. The Graph Convolutional Network is integrated with Deep Reinforcement Learning to enhance network representation and decision efficiency of agent. The optimization problem is formally formulated within the framework of a Markov Decision Process. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of proposed scheme, which achieves cost-efficiency by maximizing resource utilization, minimizing costs, and optimizing task offloading while reducing task rejection. © 2024 IEEE.

The inclusion-exclusion principle together with Legendre type theorems for number of distinct restricted partitions weighted by the parity of their length are used to give several recurrence relations for restricted partition numbers as well as for overpartition numbers. In the case of overpartitions, POD partitions and 3-color partitions, we give combinatorial proofs for the Legendre type theorems and arrive to combinatorial proofs for the recurrence relations. © 2025, Politechnica University of Bucharest. As-hot-rolled medium-entropy alloys(MEAs)with unevenly distributed grain sizes of face-centered cubic grains exhibit better yield strength without uniform elongation loss compared to cold-rolled and an-nealed *** operation of dynamic recrystallization(DRX)during several hot rolling passes leads to a wide range of grain sizes from submicrons to tens of micrometers due to the grain growth after nucleation:early recrystallized grains are coarser than recently recrystallized *** only the grain size but internal dislocation density of the recently recrystallized grain is *** the tensile deformation of the hot-rolled MEAs at-196 ℃,dislocation pile-ups in the relatively soft and fine DRX grains enhance yield stress and hetero-deformation-induced strain *** to the enhanced yield stress of the as-hot-rolled MEAs,stress-induced martensitic transformation easily ***,partially DRXed MEAs hot-rolled at 800 ℃ have lower yield stress than fully DRXed ones,hot-rolled at 900 and 1000 ℃.This is attributed to the softening effect of the stress-induced body-centered cubic martensitic transformation in unrecrystallized coarse grains prior to the yielding,which lowers the yield stress of the partially DRXed *** yielding,the martensitic transformation facilitates strain hard-ening and early necking is *** study presents a fresh outlook on the uneven distribution of grain sizes by hot rolling beneficial to mechanical responses of uniform elongation of~45%despite the as-rolled states with an advantage of simplified thermo-mechanical processes.

Photocatalytic degradation of organic dyes under sunlight using a mononuclear Zn complex-embedded-functionalized porous material

In this study, mesoporous materials (MCM-41 and MCM-48) were synthesized and functionalized with an acid group through a post-synthetic modification method. A mononuclear Zn complex [Zn(dmp)Cl2] (dmp = neocuprine) was also prepared and incorporated into a functionalized mesoporous material. Extensive characterization of the material married was carried out using techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) to evaluate the characteristics of modified materials. The characterization results revealed that the post-synthetic modification did not alter the phase purity, crystallinity, or morphology of the mesoporous materials while confirming the successful grafting of the desired sulphonic acid functionality and Zn complex. The Zn complex-grafted-functionalized mesoporous materials were then assessed for their photo-degradation using methylene blue (MB) and rhodamine B (RB). The results demonstrated exceptional photo-degradation efficiency of the modified materials under sunlight. Within 15 min, 10 mg/ml of dye concentration, and adsorbent dosage 0.15 mg/ml and 0.1 mg/ml, degradation efficiencies of 99% and 92%, were achieved for MB using M-48-S-Zn1 and M-41-S-Zn1, respectively. Similarly, 91% and 78% degradation rates were achieved within 30 min for RB using the same materials. The modified mesoporous materials exhibited a remarkable degradation performance even in challenging environments, including highly acidic, basic, and salt-concentrated conditions. This highlights the versatility and robustness of the modified materials in different environmental scenarios. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The design of a new adaptive version of the multiple dependent state(AMDS)sampling plan is presented based on the time truncated life test under the Weibull *** achieved the proposed sampling plan by applying the concept of the double sampling plan and existing multiple dependent state sampling plans.A warning sign for acceptance number was proposed to increase the probability of current lot *** optimal plan parameters were determined simultaneously with nonlinear optimization problems under the producer’s risk and consumer’s risk.A simulation study was presented to support the proposed sampling plan.A comparison between the proposed and existing sampling plans,namely multiple dependent state(MDS)sampling plans and a modified multiple dependent state(MMDS)sampling plan,was considered under the average sampling number and operating characteristic curve *** addition,the use of two real datasets demonstrated the practicality and usefulness of the proposed sampling *** results indicated that the proposed plan is more flexible and efficient in terms of the average sample number compared to the existing MDS and MMDS sampling plans.

A plastic optical fiber amplifier coated with CsPbBr3 nanocrystals and pumped by an 800-nm Ti:Sapphire laser exhibited two-photon-excited amplified spontaneous emission with a 7.4-mJ/cm2 threshold and >10-dB optical gain in the green spectral range (520-540 nm) when incorporating a continuous-wave broadband signal. © 2024 IEEE.
