We have developed the self-propelled capsule endoscope. Although it is the same size as a conventional capsule endoscope, with a diameter of 11 mm and a length of 31 mm, it can travel inside the gastrointestinal tract. A running mechanism that uses vibrations allows it to run without any protrusions on the outer shell. Therefore, there is no risk of harming the inside of the body. This is a noteworthy feature of this capsule. Experiments have confirmed that this capsule can travel in the intestines of living dogs. Because the power supply to this capsule needs to continue stably for over an hour, we developed a wireless power supply method to the internal capsule. Conventional wireless power supply with a fixed power transmission coil had the problem that power supply would be interrupted if the capsule moved. Therefore, we investigated stabilizing the power supply by moving the power transmission coil in X-Y to follow the capsule in response to increases and decreases in the power supply. We were able to confirm the feasibility through experiments. This technology can be expected to perform endoscopic examinations with less burden on both patients and doctors, and can also be applied to power supply to medical devices inside the body.

In repeat-pass interferometric synthetic aperture radar (In-SAR), the coherence loss derived from temporal decorrelation can be modeled using an exponential decay function. Many researches have investigated the relationships between decay parameters over various land-cover types for C-band SAR satellites. Although ALOS PALSAR provides many L-band SAR images, its revisit time was insufficient for understanding the rapid exponential drop in temporal decorrelation. Due to the lack of an appropriate archived dataset, analyzing the decay parameters for L-band SAR was a challenging task. In this study, we processed four-year interferometric pairs derived from ALOS-2 PALSAR-2 full-aperture ScanSAR images. This dataset has a 14 day minimum temporal interval. We selected Nairobi, Kenya, in the middle of the East African rift, as the study area and investigated how decay functions differ over multiple land-cover types. In addition, we compared decay models for Sentinel-1 interferograms. This study demonstrates that the decay parameters of L-band coherence completely differs across forest types, whereas C-band coherence is low coherence regardless of forest type.

A 0.9–1.4-GHz Q-Enhanced CMOS Tunable Bandpass Filter With Constant Fractional Bandwidth and Two Transmission Zeros

A tunable differential $Q$ -enhanced bandpass filter covering 0.9–1.4 GHz with constant fractional bandwidth (FBW) is proposed using 40-nm CMOS technology in this letter. The proposed filter is constructed by two resonators which consist of ON-chip integrated inductors and varactors. The inductors of the two resonators are placed close to each other to form the mainline magnetic coupling of the filter. Besides the mainline coupling, the source port and load port are connected directly by capacitors, forming the source-to-load coupling. With the proposed structure, two transmission zeros (TZs) can be obtained, which can greatly increase the stopband rejection. Meanwhile, nMOS cross-coupled pairs are used as the $Q$ -enhanced cells to reduce the insertion loss (IL) and further improve the filter selectivity. A filter prototype based on 40-nm CMOS process is fabricated to validate the proposed structure. The center frequency (CF) of the proposed filter can be tuned from 0.9 to 1.4 GHz while keeping the FBW constant at 8%.

The paper presents a study on the performance of system of monitoring the activity of a person in the office. The widespread adoption of cloud storage enables users to remotely access resources through a self-service model. Utilizing pay-per-use storage services provided by cloud service providers (CSPs) requires users to commit financially to their resources. This paper introduces a Secure Cloud Storage (SCS) framework, offering a secure architecture for cloud storage using a consortium blockchain network to address trust issues. This framework substitutes the third-party auditor with peers of a consortium blockchain network, which handles the role of data storage and verification. Storage space is divided into uncommitted and committed segments. Uncommitted storage is used for storing unverified documents, while committed storage is reserved for documents that have been validated through a consensus mechanism. In contrast, committed storage is des-ignated for the storage of committed documents. Documents validated by a consensus threshold of peer nodes are moved from uncommitted to committed storage. The implementation of the SCS framework is conducted using Hyperledger Fabric, a modular blockchain platform optimized for permissioned networks. The security analysis demonstrates that SCS effectively protects cloud storage against attacks, including unauthorized access attacks, data integrity attacks, and malicious server attacks, while maintaining data integrity and auditability. The performance evaluation shows that document upload and retrieval times, block acceptance, execution times, and latency are all improved compared to state-of-the-art cloud storage techniques.

Federated learning (FL) has received widespread attention in the field of autonomous driving due to its advantages in preventing privacy leakage. However, there are still hidden dangers in privacy leakage and data transmission security. This paper proposes a two-stage message-driven frequency hopping orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (TMDFH-OFDM) strategy and make it serve the uplink transmission process of FL for autonomous vehicles (AVs). In order to avoid inaccurate training results which caused by targeted jamming in the communication channel, the method of using scrambled transmission data to select communication frequency twice is proposed. The aperiodic nature of the transmitted data makes the AVs communication frequency unpredictable, so the attacker cannot send effective malicious jamming. In order to keep the privacy information from being leaked, the AVs' transmission data is divided into three parts, two of which are hidden into the frequency hopping pattern. This strategy makes it impossible for attackers to obtain complete user data from the channel. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show the proposed method can effectively improve the concealment and security of vehicles' transmitted signals in the process of FL and possesses significant research value. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

Recently link weight prediction has attracted an increasing research interest due to its merits in quantifying the strength between nodes within a graph. Nonetheless, current link weight prediction methods focus solely on graph topology, disregarding node feature information embedded in graphs. In real-world applications, we often collect heterogeneous graph data where multiple types of nodes linked by multiple types of edges are available for analysis, and it is essential and challenging to quantify the proximity of different types of nodes. To solve this challenge, we present a new model for Heterogeneous Graph Link Weight Prediction (HLWP for short). In HLWP, message passing in heterogeneous graph neural networks is described as a meta structure, which can be effectively designed by Differentiable Neural Architecture Search (DARTS) algorithms. Thus, HLWP can enhance the message passing in heterogeneous graphs by DARTS. In addition, HLWP employs a perturbation-based algorithm to enhance stability and precision. Through empirical experiments conducted on three real-world datasets, we demonstrate that HLWP achieves accurate predictions of link weights. Our results highlight the superiority of HLWP over existing methods for link weight prediction and baseline GNN models in terms of accurately predicting link weights within heterogeneous graphs.

Control of nonlinear systems is a challenging task that often requires linearization, which limits the operating envelope. Moreover, designing a controller for such nonlinear systems requires complex tuning rules and expert system knowledge. Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) has been used as a controller for nonlinear systems. However, its applicability is hindered by the Sim2Real gap, an issue where the DRL agent trained in simulation does not transfer to reality. In this work, we propose using DRL for the control of nonlinear systems across the Sim2Real gap by utilizing a detailed dynamic model of the nonlinear system. To demonstrate the proposed methodology, we use a tower crane as the nonlinear system of interest. The control policy of the DRL agent is learned rather than explicitly programmed. To highlight the effectiveness of the proposed DRL-based controller, the results are compared with the PI controller. The experimental results presented demonstrate the successful Sim2Real transfer and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This paper describes the implementation and evaluation of an RC polyphase filter (RCPF) and circuitry for measuring its frequency characteristics. The integrated circuit is fabricated on a 0.6 µm CMOS process and its supply voltage is 5 V. The integrated circuit includes a filter under test (FUT), a four-phase square wave generator, several analog switches and differential amplifiers to amplify the high-impedance signals of the RCPF. This FUT is a third-order complex RCPF whose passband is 8 − 40 MHz. This paper describes the design of these circuits in detail. This integrated circuit can select two measurement methods by means of external control signals. The first method uses a four-phase square wave. The frequency characteristics are measured by using an on-chip four-phase square wave generator driven by an external clock generator and by a spectrum analyzer tuned to the fundamental frequency. The second method uses an external network analyzer. Furthermore, this integrated circuit is equipped with a calibration circuit to measure the frequency characteristics of the circuitry except FUT by passing through the input / output signals of the FUT. As a result, the frequency characteristics of the FUT itself can be accurately measured. The effectiveness is confirmed through evaluation of the fabricated integrated circuit. © 2025 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.
