Aiming at the prediction of truck travel time in open pit mines, we established a prediction model based on long short-term memory(LSTM). This model fully accounts for 11 factors, including the nature of trucks, weather, road conditions, and driver's behaviors, as well as the influence of neighbor road segments in the route on the current predicted road segment. The experiment shows that the error of the LSTM prediction model is significantly reduced compared with SVR and BP models. In addition, the maximum absolute mean error under different conditions is less than 12 seconds. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Fundus Image Quality Assessment and Enhancement: a Systematic Review

As an affordable and convenient eye scan, fundus photography holds the potential for preventing vision impairment, especially in resource-limited regions. However, fundus image degradation is common under intricate imaging environments, impacting following diagnosis and treatment. Consequently, image quality assessment (IQA) and enhancement (IQE) are essential for ensuring the clinical value and reliability of fundus images. While existing reviews offer some overview of this field, a comprehensive analysis of the interplay between IQA and IQE, along with their clinical deployment challenges, is lacking. This paper addresses this gap by providing a thorough review of fundus IQA and IQE algorithms, research advancements, and practical applications. We outline the fundamentals of the fundus photography imaging system and the associated interferences, and then systematically summarize the paradigms in fundus IQA and IQE. Furthermore, we discuss the practical challenges and solutions in deploying IQA and IQE, as well as offer insights into potential future research directions. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. Cloud storage services offer flexible, convenient solutions for business and personal users to store data. Traditionally, Third Party Auditors (TPAs) are introduced to ensure data integrity for public auditing. However, TPAs may also be untrusted for forging the auditing results or colluding with cloud storage servers to deceive users. In this paper, we propose a novel Blockchain-based Public Auditing Outsourcing system without TPAs (BPAO), in which the computationally expensive operations in public auditing are outsourced through blockchain to the cloud servers without risking users' privacy. Our security analysis indicates that BPAO achieves soundness and robustness. The experimental results show that BPAO is computationally efficient for cloud storage user. © 2021 IEEE.

Addressing the statistical challenge of computing the multivariate normal (MVN) probability in high dimensions holds significant potential for enhancing various applications. For example, the critical task of detecting confidence regions where a process probability surpasses a specific threshold is essential in diverse applications, such as pinpointing tumor locations in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan images, determining hydraulic parameters in groundwater flow issues, and forecasting regional wind power to optimize wind turbine placement, among numerous others. One common way to compute high-dimensional MVN probabilities is the Separation-of-Variables (SOV) algorithm. This algorithm is known for its high computational complexity of O(n 3 ) and space complexity of O(n 2 ), mainly due to a Cholesky factorization operation for an n×n covariance matrix, where n represents the dimensionality of the MVN problem. This work proposes a high-performance computing framework that allows scaling the SOV algorithm and, subsequently, the confidence region detection algorithm. The framework leverages parallel linear algebra algorithms with a task-based programming model to achieve performance scalability in computing process probabilities, especially on large-scale systems. In addition, we enhance our implementation by incorporating Tile Low-Rank (TLR) approximation techniques to reduce algorithmic complexity without compromising the necessary accuracy. To evaluate the performance and accuracy of our framework, we conduct assessments using simulated data and a wind speed dataset. Our proposed implementation effectively handles high-dimensional multivariate normal (MVN) probability computations on shared and distributed-memory systems using finite precision arithmetics and TLR approximation computation. Performance results show a significant speedup of up to 20X in solving the MVN problem using TLR approximation compared to the reference dense solution without sacrificin

Information is the key to success in every domain; this statement also applies to cryptocurrencies and blockchain domains. Beginning with Bitcoin back in 2009, which the anonymous Japanese Satoshi Nakamoto launched, blockchain technology emerged. This technology has revolutionized and continues to do so in digital transactions. In addition, this technology led to the further development of other cryptocurrencies that are active at these moments on the market. One class of cryptocurrencies obtained differently from classical bitcoin is those obtained due to web-based mining. The most known coins of this type are Monero, Dash, or Electroneum. This paper aims to analyze the web-based mining process of Monero and the whole process’s security. In addition, we want to explore the performance of the mining processes used in the user’s web browser. Moreover, finally, we aim to research the profitability of coins obtained due to web-browser mining, having as an object of study the cryptocurrency Monero.

We optimized the design and operating conditions of our superconducting neutron detector to improve spatial resolution. We obtained the best spatial resolution of 10 μm when a Gd Siemens star pattern was mounted in close contact with the detector. Although there is a trade-off between a spatial resolution and an easiness of replacing samples, we built our superconducting neutron imaging system for measuring in both the room-temperature samples with a proper collimation ratio L/D for achieving a reasonable spatial resolution and a cryogenic temperature with the best spatial resolution for certain purposes. In this study, we obtained neutron transmission images of various samples when they were cooled down with the superconducting neutron detector. We compared the effect of a different sample-detector distance on a spatial resolution when the samples were placed either at cryogenic temperature or at room temperature. We also confirmed that our CB-KID sensor was able to observe the neutron transmission coefficient over wider energies of pulsed neutrons. We found the appearance of clear Bragg dips by the measurements of natural FeS2 single crystals and succeeded in mapping the distribution of differently-oriented crystals by choosing several Bragg dips of the FeS2 crystals to compose the transmission images. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Microwave photonic receivers are a promising candidate in breaking the bandwidth limitation of traditional radio-frequency(RF)*** further balance the performance superiority with the requirements regarding size,weight,and power consumption(SWa P),the implementation of integrated microwave photonic microsystems has been considered an upgrade ***,up to now,to the best of our knowledge,chip-scale fully integrated microwave photonic receivers have not been reported due to the limitation of material *** this paper,we report a fully integrated hybrid microwave photonic receiver(FIH-MWPR)obtained by comprising the indium phosphide(In P)laser chip and the monolithic silicon-on-insulator(SOI)photonic circuit into the same substrate based on the low-coupling-loss micro-optics *** from the integration of all optoelectronic components,the packaged FIH-MWPR exhibits a compact volume of 6 cmand low power consumption of 1.2 *** FIH-MWPR supports a wide operation bandwidth from 2 to 18 ***,its RF-link performance to down-convert the RF signals to the intermediate frequency is experimentally characterized by measuring the link gain,the noise figure,and the spurious-free dynamic range metrics across the whole operation frequency ***,we have utilized it as a de-chirp receiver to process the broadband linear frequencymodulated(LFM)radar echo signals at different frequency bands(S-,C-,X-,and Ku-bands)and successfully demonstrated its high-resolution-ranging *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first realization of a chip-scale broadband fully integrated microwave photonic receiver,which is expected to be an important step in demonstrating the feasibility of all-integrated microwave photonic microsystems oriented to miniaturized application scenarios.
