With the continuous development of Io T, a number of sensors establish on the roadside to monitor traffic conditions in real time. The continuously traffic data generated by these sensors makes traffic management feasible. However, loss of data may occur due to inevitable sensor failure, impeding traffic managers to understand traffic dynamics clearly. In this situation, it is becoming a necessity to predict missing traffic flow accurately for effective traffic management. Furthermore, the traffic sensor data are often distributed and stored by different agencies,which inhibits the multi-party sensor data sharing significantly due to privacy concerns. Therefore, it has become a major obstacle to balance the tradeoff between data sharing and vehicle privacy. In light of these challenges, we propose a privacyaware and accurate missing traffic flow prediction approach based on time-aware Locality-Sensitive Hashing technique. At last, we deploy a set of experiments based on a real traffic dataset. Experimental reports demonstrate the feasibility of our proposal in terms of traffic flow prediction accuracy and efficiency while guaranteeing sensor data privacy.

This research aims to identify factors that affect the technological transition of firms toward industry 4.0 technologies (I4Ts) focusing on firm capabilities and policy impact using relatedness and complexity measures. For the analysis, a unique dataset of Korean manufacturing firms’ patent and their financial and market information was used. Following the Principle of Relatedness, which is a recently shaped empirical principle in the field of economic complexity, economic geography, and regional studies, we build a technology space and then trace each firm’s footprint on the space. Using the technology space of firms, we can identify firms that successfully develop a new industry 4.0 technology and examine whether their accumulated capabilities in their previous technology domains positively affect their technological diversification and which factors play a critical role in their transition towards industry 4.0. In addition, by combining data on whether the firms received government support on R&D activities, we further analyzed the role of government policy in supporting firms’ knowledge activity in new industry 4.0 technologies. We found that firms with higher related technologies and more government support are more likely to enter new I4Ts. We expect our research to inform policymakers who aim to diversify firms’ technological capabilities into I4Ts. © 2022, CC BY.

In addition to the Warburg effect, which increases the availability of energy and biosynthetic building blocks in WSSV-infected shrimp, WSSV also induces both lipolysis at the viral genome replication stage (12 hpi) to provide material and energy for the virus replication, and lipogenesis at the viral late stage (24 hpi) to complete virus morphogenesis by supplying particular species of long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs). Here, we further show that WSSV causes a reduction in lipid droplets (LDs) in hemocytes at the viral genome replication stage, and an increase in LDs in the nuclei of WSSV-infected hemocytes at the viral late stage. In the hepatopancreas, lipolysis is triggered by WSSV infection, and this leads to fatty acids being released into the hemolymph. β-oxidation inhibition experiment reveals that the fatty acids generated by WSSV-induced lipolysis can be diverted into β-oxidation for energy production. At the viral late stage, WSSV infection leads to lipogenesis in both the stomach and hepatopancreas, suggesting that fatty acids are in high demand at this stage for virion morphogenesis. Our results demonstrate that WSSV modulates lipid metabolism specifically at different stages to facilitate its replication. © 2023, The Author(s).

On background of cooperative air combat, state estimation of aerial maneuvering target with multi-sensor cooperative reconnaissance is discussed in this paper. Multiple moving platforms equipped with different kinds of detectors construct heterogeneous mobile sensor networks. Graph theory is adopted to describe the communication topology of the networks. In consideration of detection range limit, the number of sensors participating in the detection changes over time. An interactive multiple model algorithm（IMM） is utilized for target motion modeling. The local observation information is processed by Cubature Information Filter（CIF）. A weighted average consensus-based state estimation method for heterogeneous mobile sensor networks with varying nodes is put forward to fuse information from different sensors and obtain a consistent and precise tracking result. Moreover, the stability analysis of proposed method is provided detailed. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Single-beam super-resolution microscopy, also known as superlinear microscopy, exploits the nonlinear response of fluorescent probes in confocal microscopy. The technique requires no complex purpose-built system, light field modulation, or beam shaping. Here, we present a strategy to enhance this technique's spatial resolution by modulating excitation intensity during image acquisition. This modulation induces dynamic optical nonlinearity in upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs), resulting in variations of higher spatial-frequency information in the obtained images. The high-order information can be extracted with a proposed weighted finite difference imaging algorithm from raw fluorescence images, to generate an image with a higher resolution than superlinear microscopy images. We apply this approach to resolve two adjacent nanoparticles within a diffraction-limited area, improving the resolution to 130 nm. This work suggests a new scope for developing dynamic nonlinear fluorescent probes in super-resolution nanoscopy. © 2022, CC BY.

This paper investigates the formation stabilization control problem of a group of networked nonholonomic unicycle agents with a static leader. A distributed observer is presented for each agent to estimate the position and orientation of leader. A feedback controller is then constructed to make the agents form the desired geometric shape centered at the leader. The control protocol consists of the observer and the feedback controller. With this protocol, each agent computes the control signals only using its own state and its neighbors' information. Based on Lyapunov method and Barbalat lemma, stability analysis shows that all the unicycle agents globally asymptotically make into the desired shape centered at the position of leader, and that their orientations tend to the orientation of leader, provided that the communication graph has a spanning tree with at least one root agent knowing the information of leader. Finally, a numerical simulation is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control law.

On-edge multi-task transfer learning: Model and practice with data-driven task allocation

On edge devices, data scarcity occurs as a common problem where transfer learning serves as a widely-suggested remedy. Nevertheless, transfer learning imposes heavy computation burden to the resource-constrained edge devices. Existing task allocation works usually assume all submitted tasks are equally important, leading to inefficient resource allocation at a task level when directly applied in Multi-task Transfer Learning (MTL). To address these issues, we first reveal that it is crucial to measure the impact of tasks on overall decision performance improvement and quantify task importance. We then show that task allocation with task importance for MTL (TATIM) is a variant of NP-complete Knapsack problem, where the complicated computation to solve this problem needs to be conducted repeatedly under varying contexts. To solve TATIM with high computational efficiency, we propose a data-driven Cooperative Task Allocation (DCTA) approach. Finally, we evaluate the performance of DCTA by not only a trace-driven simulation, but also a new comprehensive real-world AIOps case study which bridges model and practice via a new architecture and main components design within AIOps system. Extensive experiments show that our DCTA reduces 3.24 times of processing time, and saves 48.4% energy consumption compared with the state-of-the-art when solving TATIM. Objective:To evaluate the basic appearance and variation of the venous sinuses and veins in healthy ***:Prospectively-recruited healthy volunteers completed a questionnaire and underwent magnetic resonance imaging plus contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance venography(CE-MRV)to measure their sinus *** variations of cerebral venous sinuses were ***:Fifty-eight individuals were *** mean diameter of the left transverse sinus(LTS)(5.37±1.35 mm)was significantly smaller than that of the right transverse sinus(RTS)(6.65±1.57 mm)(P<0.001),and the average discrepancy was 19.2%.RTS dominance was noted in 55.1%of *** superior sagittal sinus(SSS)anatomical variations were *** A was the most common and was present in 43 participants(74.1%).The SSS preferentially drained into the RTS in 32 patients(55.2%),and arachnoid granulation was observed in the transverse sinus(TS)and SSS in *** to our reclassification combined with Osborn’s previous research,we found that the SSS commonly drained into the RTS and that the straight sinus(StS)branched into both ***:A 19%difference between the LTS and RTS provides a threshold for TS lateral dominance instead of a TS *** and radiologists should not ignore the influence of acquired pathology when the SSS drains in a non-RTS-dominant *** variations of the torcular herophili are frequent;the most commonly observed was the StS branching into both TSs,with the SSS draining into the RTS.

Mesoporous silica was synthesized using biosurfactant templates to tailor the mesoporosity and catalytic activity in waste cooking oil conversion to liquid hydrocarbon. Facile maceration of Sapindus rarak fruit produced extract with amphiphilic properties. The effect of saponin biosurfactant in controlling mesoporosity was determined by varying silica to extract at 1:0.5, 1:1, and 1:2 w/w ratios. The silica formed sponge-like morphology with 3D intraparticle disordered mesopores. The mesoporosity reaches optimum with 6.08 nm pore size, 541 m²/g surface area, and 0.57 cc/g pore volume. High mesoporosity in silica enhances waste cooking oil conversion during deoxygenation reaction, achieving 80.60 % hydrocarbon selectivity and reducing carbon coke. © 2024 The Authors
