System architecture for high-performance permissioned blockchains

Blockchain(BC),as an emerging distributed database technology with advanced security and reliability,has attracted much attention from experts who devoted to efinance,intellectual property protection,the internet of things(IoT)and so ***,the inefficient transaction processing speed,which hinders the BC’s widespread,has not been well tackled *** this paper,we propose a novel architecture,called Dual-Channel Parallel Broadcast model(DCPB),which could address such a problem to a greater extent by using three methods which are dual communication channels,parallel pipeline processing and block broadcast *** the dual-channel model,one channel processes transactions,and the other engages in the execution of *** parallel pipeline processing allows the system to operate *** block generation strategy improves the efficiency and speed of *** experiments have been applied to BeihangChain,a simplified prototype for BC system,illustrates that its transaction processing speed could be improved to 16K transaction per second which could well support many real-world scenarios such as BC-based energy trading system and Micro-film copyright trading system in CCTV.

The development of transforming Belulang grass (Eleusine indica) fiber into high-value-added products has not been explored. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) is a promising natural material that has been widely used in several sectors. This study is focused on the MCC isolation from Belulang grass fibers using alkalization, bleaching, and acid hydrolysis. The effects of these treatments on the chemical composition, surface morphology, crystallinity, and thermal stability of the fibers were evaluated using various techniques. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis confirmed the removal of lignin and hemicellulose content through treatments like alkalization and acid hydrolysis. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed a transformation in the fiber surface from a bundled structure to individual rods with average lengths of 15.64 μm after acid hydrolysis. Acid hydrolysis significantly increased the cellulose content by 119.2 %, while simultaneously reducing hemicellulose and lignin contents by 72.6 % and 84.1 %, respectively. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis demonstrated a remarkable increase in crystallinity index from 51.87 % to 75.76 % following hydrolysis. Moreover, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) confirmed the enhanced thermal stability of MCC, with a decomposition temperature reaching up to 366.53 °C. These findings suggest that MCC derived from Belulang grass has the potential to be a sustainable alternative to synthetic materials for reinforcing biocomposites. © 2024 Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember

This article proposes an electrode channel combination method for optimisation steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) towards a high-performance brain-computer interface (BCI). In SSVEP-based BCIs, the channels which lie in the area near the occipital and parietal lobes are always selected to improve the classification accuracy. Although the electrode channels which are selected in occipital and parietal lobes have significantly improved the accuracy and reduced the calculating time of algorithm, the effect of electrode channel combination for each subject have not been systematically explored. This study conducts a comparison of BCI performance between two subjects in different electrode channel combinations. The results show significant difference between two subjects when selecting different electrode channel combinations using unsupervised target identification methods. The results suggest that different electrode channels should be selected for different subjects in SSVEP-based BCIs. © 2019 Institution of engineering and Technology. All rights reserved.

The traditional pressure sensors are mostly based on piezoresistive, piezoelectric effect, and strain gauge, which are easily affected by ambient temperature. The structure of some sensors is rather complex to effectively acquire the signal or measure distribution force. Therefore, a pressure sensor based on the planar coil and elastic element was designed to solve this problem. The newly designed sensor has a spiral planar coil made by a printed circuit board and a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) thin film as the elastic element. The conductive layer is attached on the upper surface of PDMS to realise the eddy current effect. Meanwhile, a simulation model was established to find the relationship between deformation displacement and the pressure of the elastic element. By generating the experimental curves of the deformation displacement of the elastic element and the output frequency of the eddy current sensor, the pressure measurement on the surface of the elastic element can be identified. The preliminary experimental results showed that the eddy current pressure sensor based on the plane coil has good linearity and repeatability, and it can realise large area distributed pressure measurement, which is also suitable for accurate measurement of distribution force. © 2019 Institution of engineering and Technology. Finite-time time-varying group formation (FT-TVGF) tracking control problems for high-order multi-agent systems (MASs) are studied in this paper. Different from previous work, the approaches proposed in this paper combine group formation tracking control with finite-time control, not only that, the agents in each group can achieve time-varying sub-formations and the relative configuration between different groups can be adjusted simultaneously. First, all agents are divided into three types, including the virtual leader, the group leader, and the follower. The virtual leader is added to plan the trajectory of MASs. Subgroups can be interacted with each other by the communication among group leaders. Followers achieve the finite-time formation tracking of group leaders. Then the disturbance observer is constructed to estimate the mismatched disturbances of all group leaders and followers in finite time. Furthermore, based on finite time control theory and observer theory, a distributed control protocol is presented to make MASs realize FT-TVGF tracking under directed graph. The proof of close-loop stability of MASs is accomplished using Lyapunov theory. Finally, numerical simulations verify the theoretical analysis of this paper.

This paper studies time-varying formation tracking control problems for UAV-UGV heterogeneous swarm systems. The UAVs and UGVs need to achieve the desired time-varying formation and track the reference trajectory of a leader synchronously under switching directed topologies. Firstly, the cooperative control model for UAV-UGV heterogeneous swarm system is established by using algebraic graph theory. Then, the formation tracking control protocol based on a distributed observer is designed and the convergence is proved by using piecewise Lyapunov theory. Furthermore, the feasible conditions to achieve the time-varying formation tracking are analyzed, and the algorithm to select the control parameters is proposed. Finally, a numerical simulation example is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.

Metaheuristic algorithms, implicitly or explicitly, typically aim to achieve a delicate balance between exploration and exploitation when improving a population of solutions for a given optimization problem. Diversity metrics are crucial indicators for both exploration and exploitation, which serves as a valuable tool for assessing the performance of metaheuristic algorithms. Although several metrics for diversity have been proposed, the majority of them are only suitable for problems with continuous space. However, many optimization problems are defined/modeled based on discrete variables, and permutation representation is widely used for modeling real-world problems. Many existing metrics are not applicable to permutation-based problems. Applying other existing metrics to such problems frequently encounters two primary drawbacks: computational cost and effectiveness to represent the actual diversity of the population. To address these drawbacks, a new exclusive diversity metric is proposed in this work for optimization problems modeled by permutations. This method calculates diversity by linearizing and partitioning the problem space based on the population distribution in the space and counting the number of individuals in the partitions. Compared to the eleven available metrics (including both permutation-based and usable non-permutation-based metrics) in the literature, the proposed method demonstrates superior performance, exhibiting acceptable accuracy, stability, sensitivity, and robustness, particularly in the presence of outliers and requiring minimal computational cost. The accuracy of the results of the method is, on average, 35% better than baseline metrics. The computational cost of the method is also nearly 50% better than the fastest available method. Retinal vessel structure is an unique individual characteristic and important biology marker of many diseases, like Diabetic Retinopathy（DR）, cardiovascular ailment, and so on. Automatic retinal vessel segmentation can be used to assist the early diagnosis of above diseases, but suffers from the poor quality and low contrast of fundus images. To eliminate the noise in the fundus images, many pre-process pipelines are designed to normalize and enhance the fundus images. However, the specific operations in pre-process pipelines of the fundus images haven’t been distinguished from operations in normalization of natural images. This paper collects a dozen of pre-process pipelines from published retinal vessel segmentation researches, and proposes five general patterns of these pre-process pipelines. Furthermore, we test the flexibility of five classical pre-process pipelines on public retinal vessel datasets with a Dense-UNet model. Experiments demonstrate that the "Hiera" pre-process pipeline and the"DUNet" pre-process pipeline outperform the rest pipelines in assisting the Dense-UNet to segment the retinal vessels.

Intelligent optimization of e-commerce order packing using deep reinforcement learning with heuristic strategies

The rapid expansion of e-commerce has intensified demands for efficient logistics, particularly in optimizing three-dimensional bin packing (3D-BPP) to balance space utilization, operational costs, and sustainability. Traditional methods often fail to address the dynamic, multi-constrained nature of e-commerce orders, which involve diverse item combinations, real-time decision-making, and complex practical constraints. This study proposes a hybrid framework that integrates deep reinforcement learning (DRL) with heuristic strategies to tackle these challenges. We first formulate a comprehensive mathematical model for 3D-BPP that explicitly incorporates rotation, boundary, and non-overlapping constraints. Building on this foundation, we develop a heuristic strategy system with five operator components for bin selection, item grouping, packing sequence, position selection, and orientation determination. To enhance adaptability, we introduce two DRL algorithms: the Order Packing Optimization DRL (OPO-DRL) for dynamic item sequencing and the Packing Combination Strategy DRL (PCS-DRL) for adaptive operator selection. The hybrid framework synergizes DRL's learning capabilities with heuristic efficiency, enabling real-time adjustments to varying order patterns and bin specifications. Experimental validation using real-world data from *** demonstrates significant improvements, achieving an average packing rate of 68.60% with computation times of 0.16 s per order, outperforming state-of-the-art methods. Statistical analysis confirms significant improvements in both solution quality and computational efficiency compared to existing approaches. This work bridges theoretical optimization with operational realities, providing a scalable solution for modern warehouse automation and intelligent logistics systems. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

One of the most popular method for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis is exploring the Brain functional connectivity (FC) from resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (RS-fMRI). To early prevent AD, it is crucial to distinguish AD and and its preclinical stage, mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and early MCI (eMCI). In many existing works, dynamic functional connectivity (dFC) which contains rich spatiotemporal information has been exploited for the MCI and eMCI identification. However, most of these dFC based methods only consider the correlation between discrete brain status while ignore the valuable spatiotemporal information contained in dFC. To overcome this limitation, we propose a matrix classifier based method on the dFC signal for MCI and eMCI identification. Specifically, we first represent the dFC correlations by matrix features which contain rich spatiotemporal information and then learn the support matrix machines (SMM) to classify AD and its preclinical stage. Experiments on 600 real people data provide by the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) demonstrate that our proposed matrix classifier based method outperforms other FC and dFC based methods for both normal controls (NC)/MCI identification and NC/eMCI identification.
