Large language models (LLMs) have rapidly advanced and demonstrated impressive capabilities. In-Context Learning (ICL) and Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) are currently two mainstream methods for augmenting LLMs to downstream tasks. ICL typically constructs a few-shot learning scenario, either manually or by setting up a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system, helping models quickly grasp domain knowledge or question-answering patterns without changing model parameters. However, this approach involves trade-offs, such as slower inference speed and increased space occupancy. PEFT assists the model in adapting to tasks through minimal parameter modifications, but the training process still demands high hardware requirements, even with a small number of parameters involved. To address these challenges, we propose Reference Trustable Decoding (RTD), a paradigm that allows models to quickly adapt to new tasks without fine-tuning, maintaining low inference costs. RTD constructs a reference datastore from the provided training examples and optimizes the LLM's final vocabulary distribution by flexibly selecting suitable references based on the input, resulting in more trustable responses and enabling the model to adapt to downstream tasks at a low cost. Experimental evaluations on various LLMs using different benchmarks demonstrate that RTD establishes a new paradigm for augmenting models to downstream tasks. Furthermore, our method exhibits strong orthogonality with traditional methods, allowing for concurrent usage. This review paper investigates the advances of artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of email spam detection. The study addresses AI-based techniques used for email spam filtering by classifying threats such as keywords, content-based, sender IDs, and phrases. Email spam remains one of the most pressing issues today, with spammers sending malicious links in junk folders to compromise confidential information. As spam filtering becomes increasingly complex, AI and machine learning techniques like Naïve Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Random Forest are commonly used to mitigate these threats. This study proposes a novel framework that combines traditional machine learning models with deep neural networks to develop a robust and flexible spam detection system. The framework is designed to enhance the detection capabilities of the classifier by applying a series of key sequential steps, each intended to improve the system's ability to distinguish between legitimate emails and spam. The paper details the methodology, providing a step-by-step explanation of each phase to demonstrate how the framework advances email spam detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Big data challenges and opportunities in Internet of Vehicles: a systematic review

Purpose: Big data challenges and opportunities on the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) have emerged as a transformative paradigm to change intelligent transportation systems. With the growth of data-driven applications and the advances in data analysis techniques, the potential for data-adaptive innovation in IoV applications becomes an outstanding development in future IoV. Therefore, this paper aims to focus on big data in IoV and to provide an analysis of the current state of research. Design/methodology/approach: This review paper uses a systematic literature review methodology. It conducts a thorough search of academic databases to identify relevant scientific articles. By reviewing and analyzing the primary articles found in the big data in the IoV domain, 45 research articles from 2019 to 2023 were selected for detailed analysis. Findings: This paper discovers the main applications, use cases and primary contexts considered for big data in IoV. Next, it documents challenges, opportunities, future research directions and open issues. research limitations/implications: This paper is based on academic articles published from 2019 to 2023. Therefore, scientific outputs published before 2019 are omitted. Originality/value: This paper provides a thorough analysis of big data in IoV and considers distinct research questions corresponding to big data challenges and opportunities in IoV. It also provides valuable insights for researchers and practitioners in evolving this field by examining the existing fields and future directions for big data in the IoV ecosystem. © 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited.

Detection of Perfect Stealthy Attacks on Cyber-Physical Systems Subject to Measurement Quantizations: A Watermark-Based Strategy

In this paper, the attack detection problem is investigated for a class of closed-loop systems subjected to unknownbutbounded noises in the presence of stealthy attacks. The measurement outputs from the sensors are quantized before transmission.A specific type of perfect stealthy attack, which meets certain rather stringent conditions, is taken into account. Such attacks could be injected by adversaries into both the sensor-toestimator and controller-to-actuator channels, with the aim of disrupting the normal data flow. For the purpose of defending against these perfect stealthy attacks, a novel scheme based on watermarks is developed. This scheme includes the injection of watermarks(applied to data prior to quantization) and the recovery of data(implemented before the data reaches the estimator).The watermark-based scheme is designed to be both timevarying and hidden from adversaries through incorporating a time-varying and bounded watermark signal. Subsequently, a watermark-based attack detection strategy is proposed which thoroughly considers the characteristics of perfect stealthy attacks,thereby ensuring that an alarm is activated upon the occurrence of such attacks. An example is provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed mechanism for detecting attacks.

Traffic light control plays a crucial role in intelligent transportation systems. This paper introduces Temporal Difference-Aware Graph Convolutional Reinforcement Learning (TeDA-GCRL), a decentralized RL-based method for efficient multi-intersection traffic signal control. Specifically, we put forward a new graph architecture using each lane as a node for considering intersection relations. Additionally, we propose two new rewards by considering temporal information, namely Temporal-Aware Pressure on Incoming Lanes (TAPIL) and Temporal-Aware Action Consistency (TAAC), which enhance learning efficiency and time-interval sensitivity. Experimental results on five datasets show the superiority of TeDA-GCRL over state-of-the-art methods by at least 9.5% in average travel time. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

The medical community has more concern on lung cancer *** experts’physical segmentation of lung cancers is time-consuming and needs to be *** research study’s objective is to diagnose lung tumors at an early stage to extend the life of humans using deep learning ***-Aided Diagnostic(CAD)system aids in the diagnosis and shortens the time necessary to detect the tumor *** application of Deep Neural Networks(DNN)has also been exhibited as an excellent and effective method in classification and segmentation *** research aims to separate lung cancers from images of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)with threshold *** Honey hook process categorizes lung cancer based on characteristics retrieved using several *** this principle,the work presents a solution for image compression utilizing a Deep Wave Auto-Encoder(DWAE).The combination of the two approaches significantly reduces the overall size of the feature set required for any future classification process performed using *** proposed DWAE-DNN image classifier is applied to a lung imaging dataset with Radial Basis Function(RBF)*** study reported promising results with an accuracy of 97.34%,whereas using the Decision Tree(DT)classifier has an accuracy of 94.24%.The proposed approach(DWAE-DNN)is found to classify the images with an accuracy of 98.67%,either as malignant or normal *** contrast to the accuracy requirements,the work also uses the benchmark standards like specificity,sensitivity,and precision to evaluate the efficiency of the *** is found from an investigation that the DT classifier provides the maximum performance in the DWAE-DNN depending on the network’s performance on image testing,as shown by the data acquired by the categorizers themselves.

Multilevel modeling is a design technique that allows complex models to be specified in terms of simpler ones. An obvious advantage of multilevel modeling is the possibility of reusing existing models, therefore reducing development cost. However, multilevel modeling entails more than the mere application of the ubiquitous principle of decomposition. Indeed, in a multilevel model the same entity may be described at different levels of detail during execution. This allows, for example, to focus on areas of interest by switching to a more detailed model, and revert back to a faster but less accurate one when possible. In this paper we propose GEMMA (GEneric Multilevel Modeling Abstraction), a methodology inspired by DEVS that can help the designer to produce sound and correct multilevel models. We propose a practical realization of GEMMA as a concrete software architecture that can be instantiated in different programming languages. We illustrate a simple use case where different sub-models written in different programming languages are combined according to the GEMMA methodology. Our ultimate goal is to bridge the gap between theory and practice of multilevel modeling, to foster a broader adoption of this useful technique. © 2024 IEEE.
