Deep learning-based magnetic resonance image super-resolution: a survey

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a medical imaging technique used to show anatomical structures and physiological processes of the human body. Due to limitations like image acquisition time, hardware capabilities, or uncooperative patients, the resolution of MR images is insufficient. Super-resolution (SR) is a crucial method to enhance the resolution of images without expensive scanning equipment. Recent years have witnessed significant progress in MR image super-resolution. Therefore, this survey presents a thorough overview of current developments in deep learning-based MR image super-resolution methods. In general, we can roughly divide the MRI super-resolution methods into single-contrast MR image SR methods and multi-contrast MR image SR methods. Additionally, we introduce the multi-task learning approaches about the MR image super-resolution. We also summarize other crucial topics, such as the degradation model, the definition of the super-resolution problem, the dataset, loss functions, and image quality assessment. This paper proposes using entity2rec [1] which utilizes knowledge graph-based embeddings (node2vec) instead of traditional embedding layers in embedding based recommender systems. This opens the door to increasing the accuracy of some of the most implemented recommender systems running in production in many companies by just replacing the traditional embedding layer with node2vec graph embedding without the risk of completely migrating to newer SOTA systems and risking unexpected performance issues. Also, Graph embeddings will be able to incorporate user and item features which can help in solving the well-known Cold start problem in recommender systems. Both embedding methods are compared on the movie-Lens 100-K dataset in an item-item collaborative filtering recommender and we show that the suggested replacement improves the representation learning of the embedding layer by adding a semantic layer that can increase the overall performance of the normal embedding based recommenders. First, normal Recommender systems are introduced, and a brief explanation of both traditional and graph-based embeddings is presented. Then, the proposed approach is presented along with related work. Finally, results are presented along with future work. © 2022 IEEE.

In a nutshell, the IoT refers to the idea of integrating high-tech technology in the form of "smart"gadgets and sensors into a single setting to gather data. There are still numerous areas in which machines cannot compete favorably with people, but data collection and analysis are undeniably two of their strongest points. The Internet of Things makes it possible to fully or partially automation data, it involves related activities, which is obviously very important for the healthcare industry. What exactly is the Internet connected medical things, and how exactly might it make a significant impact on the sector? By having to apply the concept of the internet of things (IoT) to the field of medicine, several significant advancements have become possible, including the ability to automatically control the thermostat of containers while transmitting inoculations and antibiotics, the accurate tracking of the ailments of a lot of illnesses without a need for additional meetings with a general practitioner, the correct and most useful use of meds, and a great deal more. All of this is realizable because of the capability of MedTech gadgets to carry out continuous monitoring system. The potential applications of internet of things technology in healthcare are very interesting. Let's review the ways in which this technology. © 2023 IEEE.

A multi-objective optimization method for exploring uncharted space is presented in the study. Robotics exploration personnel create a map of the immediate area using sensor data. It has been observed that a single optimization technique is typically used with a specific objective function to carry out the optimization for space exploration. The optimization process can be sped up and simplified using a mono-objective function, but the map accuracy and exploration depth suffer. This work offers an optimization technique with improved multi-objective functions in recognition of this crucial factor. This not only speeds up the search procedure but also improves the precision of the maps. The Reconfigured Whale Algorithm (rWO), the suggested framework, is based on a Whale Optimizer inspired by whales’ biological behavior. Initializing the whale population, also known as waypoints, is the first step. After being established in the initial stage/iterations, these waypoints are considered constant. The location update from the robot-catered non-dominated waypoints is the next phase. The algorithm optimizes the waypoints. Extensive simulations that simulate various scenarios and environments are used to assess the performance matrices properly. Following the identification of the algorithm’s advantages, the effectiveness of the outcomes is demonstrated by contrasting its performance with that of three popular optimization algorithms: the hybrid CME-Whale Optimizer (WO), the Coordinated Multi-Robot Exploration (CME), and the Arithmetic Optimizer (AO) integrated with CME. Findings show that the suggested approach significantly improves the optimization process by expanding the area that is investigated and speeding up the search process. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

Despite considerable research underscoring the importance of carbohydrate intake in relation to the risk of type 2 diabetes(T2D),a comprehensive assessment of this relationship is currently *** aimed to examine the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with the risk of T2D,to evaluate potential effect modification by other factors,including genetic susceptibility,and to explore the potential mediators for such *** present study included 161,872 participants of the UK Biobank who were free of prevalent cancer,cardiovascular disease,or diabetes,and had at least one validated 24-h dietary recall *** age-stratified Cox proportional hazard regression models were applied to estimate hazard ratios(HRs)and 95%confidence intervals(CI)for the associations of various types and food sources of dietary carbohydrate intake with risk of *** a median follow-up of 13.6 years,4,176 incident cases of T2D were *** the multivariable-adjusted models,a greater intake of fiber,carbohydrates from whole grains,and carbohydrates from non-starchy vegetables was significantly associated with a lower risk of T2D(highest *** quantile,HR[95%CI]=0.70[0.62–0.79],0.74[0.67–0.82],and 0.83[0.75–0.92],respectively,all P for trend<0.005).In contrast,a higher intake of starch and carbohydrate from starchy vegetables was associated with an increased risk of T2D(highest *** quantile,HR[95%CI]=1.31[1.16–1.48]and 1.19[1.09–1.31],respectively,both P for trend<0.005).Replacing one serving of refined grains or starchy vegetables with an equal amount of whole grains or non-starchy vegetables was associated with 4%to 10%lower risk of T2D(all P values<0.001).The observed associations were generally similar across population subgroups,including individuals with different genetic susceptibility to *** analyses of the inverse association between T2D risk and isocaloric substitution of carbohy

Language models (LMs) only pretrained on a general and massive corpus usually cannot attain satisfying performance on domain-specific downstream tasks, and hence, applying domain-specific pretraining to LMs is a common and indispensable practice. However, domain-specific pretraining can be costly and time-consuming, hindering LMs' deployment in real-world applications. In this work, we consider the incapability to memorize domain-specific knowledge embedded in the general corpus with rare occurrences and "long-tail" distributions as the leading cause for pretrained LMs' inferior downstream performance. Analysis of Neural Tangent Kernels (NTKs) reveals that those long-tail data are commonly overlooked in the model's gradient updates and, consequently, are not effectively memorized, leading to poor domain-specific downstream performance. Based on the intuition that data with similar semantic meaning are closer in the embedding space, we devise a Cluster-guided Sparse Expert (CSE) layer to actively learn long-tail domain knowledge typically neglected in previous pretrained LMs. During pretraining, a CSE layer efficiently clusters domain knowledge together and assigns long-tail knowledge to designate extra experts. CSE is also a lightweight structure that only needs to be incorporated in several deep layers. With our training strategy, we found that during pretraining, data of long-tail knowledge gradually formulate isolated, "outlier" clusters in an LM's representation spaces, especially in deeper layers. Our experimental results show that only pretraining CSE-based LMs is enough to achieve superior performance than regularly pretrained-finetuned LMs on various downstream tasks, implying the prospects of domain-specific-pretraining-free language models. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. The accuracy of solar cell models is crucial for enhancing the performance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. However, existing solar cell models lack precise parameters, and the manufacturer's datasheet does not provide the required information for reliable modeling. Consequently, accurate parameter estimation becomes necessary. This paper presents a simple multi-objective optimization algorithm (Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization and Rat Search Algorithm (PSORSA)) designed to estimate cell parameters based on this observation. Unlike other optimization algorithms addressing this issue, the proposed algorithm aims to overcome challenges related to local minima and premature convergence, which often lead to suboptimal results. The paper focuses on assessing the reliability of the proposed algorithm by comparing its performance with other well-known optimization algorithms. The proposed optimizing algorithm is tested on the CEC 2019 benchmark function. Experimental results (RMSE), including statistical analysis, validate the algorithm's effectiveness by comparing them with other algorithms. At the end, non-parametric test is performed to justify the outcomes, vouching for the better performance of the proposed algorithm. The findings demonstrate that the proposed algorithms are particularly well-suited for estimating solar PV models. With its simple structure and high accuracy, the proposed algorithm exhibits great potential for various applications in the field of solar energy. Moreover, its computational efficiency and ease of implementation further contribute to its practicality. © The Author(s) 2024.

Training semantic similarity model to detect duplicate text pairs is a challenging task as almost all of datasets are imbalanced, by data nature positive samples are fewer than negative samples, this issue can easily lead to model bias. Using traditional pairwise loss functions like pairwise binary cross entropy or Contrastive loss on imbalanced data may lead to model bias, however triplet loss showed improved performance compared to other loss functions. In triplet loss-based models data is fed to the model as follow: Anchor sentence, positive sentence and negative sentence. The original data is permutated to follow the input structure. The default structure of training samples data is 363,861 training samples (90% of the data) distributed as 134,336 positive samples and 229,524 negative samples. The triplet structured data helped to generate much larger amount of balanced training samples 456,219. The test results showed higher accuracy and f1 scores in testing. We fine-Tunned RoBERTa pre trained model using Triplet loss approach, testing showed better results. The best model scored 89.51 F1 score, and 91.45 Accuracy compared to 86.74 F1 score and 87.45 Accuracy in the second-best Contrastive loss-based BERT model. © 2022 IEEE.
