A home network service middleware called "UKARl-Kernel" has been proposed for distributed and collaborative networked appliances and networked sensors. A home network service can be established by the middleware using distributed function elements on the networked appliances. The middleware uses a service scenario description framework on the basis of BPEL, an XML language to define business processes, to set up the service according to the present situation. In this paper, we describe the overview and of the home network service middleware and its service scenario description. Then implementation of an emulator for the set-vice scenario description framework is reported. It is noted that the proposed description framework can be constructed easily by using the existing toolkits.

The Sunway family supercomputers have achieved a series of remarkable achievements. However, the toolchains provided by them are not perfect, which has brought great challenges to the development of high-performance application software. In this paper, a profiling and optimizing tool is proposed to assist people to analyze and optimize the performance of their programs. SWPFOPLD is independent of the application program and gathers the runtime performance data through the PMUs, an automatically hot functions rearrange optimization based on the performance data is furtherly accomplished. The evaluation shows that SWPFOPLD can be easily and effectively used to analyze and optimize the performance of the application programs. © 2023 IEEE.

Patterns of faults that are catastrophic for regular architectures, particularly the systolic arrays, have been studied. For a given link configuration, there are many fault patterns which are catastrophic. Among those, there is a particular fault pattern, called the reference fault pattern, which is crucial for the development of testing techniques; furthermore, the efficiency of any testing algorithm can be further improved in the presence of efficient algorithms for constructing the reference fault pattern. The authors develop a new algorithm for the construction of the reference fault pattern for VLSI reconfigurable arrays in which the links are bidirectional. The complexity of the new algorithm is O(kN) which is a significant improvement over the existing O(N/sup 2/) algorithm, where k is the number of bypass links, and N is the length of the largest bypass link.< >

Nowadays, more researchers in the simulation field are interested in the use of a service-oriented architecture and component-based system in order to design more efficient large-scale distributed simulation systems. A Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is a collection of independent services with well-defined interfaces that can be accessed without knowledge of their implementation. A component-based approach separates the whole system into different parts based on their functionalities. In this paper, a framework for component-based distributed simulation on the Grid (SOAr-DSGrid) is introduced. One of the major issues in designing the framework is to have efficient data flow and control flow in the framework. Data flow describes the way that data moves in the system while control flow determines the order of activities that happen in the system. The rule engine is a critical part of the framework and is responsible for managing the distributed data flow and control flow. The design and implementation of the rule engine is the major focus of this paper. The rule engine enables the framework to be more scalable as the components within the framework now communicate in a fully distributed manner.

Early diagnosis of osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) can inhibit the progression and improve femoral head preservation. The radiograph difference between early ONFH and healthy ones is not apparent to the naked eye. It is also hard to produce a large dataset to train the classification model. In this paper, we propose Asymmetric-Sensitive Transformer (AsT) to capture the uneven development of the bilateral femoral head to enable robust ONFH detection. Our ONFH detection is realized using the self-attention mechanism to femoral head regions while conferring sensitivity to the uneven development by the attention-shared transformer. The real-world experiment studies show that AsT achieves the best performance of AUC 0.9313 in the early diagnosis of ONFH and can find out misdiagnosis cases firmly. For a given design, it is not difficult to identify a set of elements whose failure will have catastrophic consequence. There exist many patterns (random distribution) of faults, not in a block, which can be fatal for the system. Therefore, the characterization of such fault patterns is crucial for the identification, testing and detection of such catastrophic events. This paper, is concerned with the development of efficient recognition schemes; that is, efficient mechanisms which automatically determine whether or not an observed/detected pattern of faults will have catastrophic consequences. The problem of recognizing whether a fault pattern is catastrophic has been addressed.< >

In the past decade, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Systems achieved great successes. Its fascinating characteristics, such as decentralized control, self-governance, fault tolerance and load balancing, make it the default infrastructure for file sharing applications. Today, P2P system is one of the largest Internet bandwidth consumers. In order to relieve the burden on Internet backbone and improve the user access experience, efficient caching strategies should be applied. In this paper, we propose a novel collaborative caching in P2P streaming systems. This strategy first calculates the factor of each cached file through their caching value, and then replaces the file with the lowest factor. The simulation experiments show that our strategy has higher cache hits and lower system load. © 2018, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Welcome to the proceedings of GCC2004 and the city of Wuhan. Grid computing has become a mainstream research area in computer science and the GCC conference has become one of the premier forums for presentation of new and exciting research in all aspectsofgridandcooperativecomputing. Theprogramcommitteeispleasedtopresent the proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Grid and Cooperative Comp- ing (GCC2004), which comprises a collection of excellent technical papers, posters, workshops, and keynote speeches. The papers accepted cover a wide range of exciting topics, including resource grid and service grid, information grid and knowledge grid, grid monitoring,managementand organizationtools, grid portal, grid service, Web s- vices and their QoS, service orchestration, grid middleware and toolkits, software glue technologies, grid security, innovative grid applications, advanced resource reservation andscheduling,performanceevaluationandmodeling,computer-supportedcooperative work, P2P computing, automatic computing, and meta-information management. The conference continues to grow and this year a record total of 581 manuscripts (including workshop submissions) were submitted for consideration. Expecting this growth, the size of the program committee was increased from 50 members for GCC 2003 for 70 in GCC 2004. Relevant differences from previous editions of the conf- ence: it is worth mentioning a signi?cant increase in the number of papers submitted by authors from outside China; and the acceptance rate was much lower than for p- vious GCC conferences. From the 427 papers submitted to the main conference, the program committee selected only 96 regular papers for oral presentation and 62 short papers for poster presentation in the program.

The grid enables large-scale resource sharing and makes it viable for running large-scale parallel and distributed simulations. The high level architecture (HLA) paradigm provides a software platform and interoperability interface for simulation components to utilize these hardware resources. However, neither the grid nor the HLA provides mechanism for resource management for parallel and distributed simulations. It is also noticed that substantial effort is required for writing program that conforms to the runtime infrastructure (RTI) requirements because of its complexity. In this paper, we introduce a framework for designing and executing parallel simulation using the RTI. The framework is also designed to assist load balancing and checkpointing. With the code library from our framework, the modeler is able to complete the design of a parallel simulation that runs on RTI by specifying the simulation configuration and the handling detail of each event. Our framework incorporates automatic code generation. It also uses data distribution management (DDM) to route simulation events (interactions) to achieve efficient use of network bandwidth.
