This paper proposes a highly reliable multilayer encryption scheme with constellation shaping based on joint index modulation. Multilayer encryption is used to ensure the security of the scheme. We utilize the 3D-Zhang chaotic system to realize the multidimensional perturbation of bits, subcarriers, and symbols of the original signal. The key information is masked with the signal using joint index modulation (JIM). The cooperative transmission of the initial value of the chaotic system is realized through the position information of the silent subcarriers and the constellation modes of the corresponding subcarriers. The scheme interleaves the initial values of the two chaotic systems to encode them as index bits, realizing the first layer of masked keys. Additional constellation shaping is achieved by optimizing the index mapping rules and changing the distribution of constellation points in the center and in the dual mode. The rotational encryption of the constellation is realized using a one-dimensional sinusoidal chaotic system after the completion of JIM, and the second layer of spherical shell masking of the key information is completed. The experimental implementation demonstrates the successful transmission of a 14 Gb/s 3D-JIM -8QAM signal over a 2 km weakly coupled seven-core fiber. Results confirm that the multi-layer encryption approach ensures secure signal transmission even under partial key leakage, without introducing degradation to the system's transmission performance. Compared to a random constellation distribution, the optimized index mapping scheme provides a coding gain of 0.75 dB at an FEC (Forward Error Correction) threshold of 3.8×10-3. The proposed scheme achieves error-free key transmission, with a bit error rate (BER) consistently maintained at 0. We have investigated a stable and flexible all-polarization-maintaining (PM) linear fiber laser mode-locked by nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE). The pulse states are investigated for different net intracavity dispersion values ranging from negative to positive by varying the grating pair distance. A spectral bandwidth of 39.8 nm was obtained with a pulse duration of 1.89 ps at a repetition rate of 147.0 MHz, which can be further compressed to 66 fs. Meanwhile, we have observed harmonic mode-locked solitons and bound state solitons in this linear fiber laser. The second- and third-order harmonic mode-locking were observed with repetition rates of 294.1 MHz and 442.3 MHz. The soliton number inside the bound states decreases from 4 solitons to 1 soliton by reducing the pump power. The results of experiment fully demonstrate that the all-PM NPE mode-locked fiber laser is an ideal platform for investigating soliton dynamics and ultrashort pulses. © 2025 SPIE.

We report a Mamyshev laser with mode-locking by seed injection. The laser produced a single pulse with a repetition frequency of 12.1 MHz, obtaining an optimal output spectrum of 41.6 nm. The output pulse width was 6.7 ps, compressed to 44 fs, and the output power reached 830 mW. Stability tests showed an RMS of less than 0.6 %, demonstrating good stability. In addition, bound-state solitons and harmonic mode-locking phenomena were observed in the experiments, and double-pulse, quadruple-pulse and quintuple-pulse bound-state solitons and 2nd-4th harmonic mode-locking were successfully obtained. The compressed pulse widths are all less than 100 fs. © 2025 SPIE.

Recent years have witnessed a rapid growth of WiFi pervasively applied in multimedia content distribution. WiFi multicast is widely applied in user-dense scenarios where the spectrum resource is insufficient. Moreover, existing access point (AP) selection and channel allocation algorithms lack in-depth study on per-user throughput requirements. This paper proposes a joint optimization of AP selection and channel allocation method for multi-priority WLAN transmissions to maximize the various users' weighted throughput satisfaction rate. In this method, we first design a 0-1 integer nonlinear programming model to describe the AP selection and channel allocation problem in the scenario of a WiFi multicast task and other tasks with different priorities. Moreover, to lower the complexity of solving mixed-integer nonlinear programming problems, we design a heuristic algorithm to obtain high-efficiency solutions. © 2023 IEEE.

Internal solitary waves(ISWs)have considerable energy to drive the mixing of water masses in the Sulu *** propagation speed is one of the critical parameters in quantifying the energy budget of the *** collected 1354 groups of ISWs’speeds from tandem satellite remote sensing images with temporal intervals shorter than 25 min and analyzed their spatial and multi-scale temporal variations in the Sulu *** found that water depth plays an important role in modulating the spatial variation of wave speeds,which increase exponentially with water depth with a power of *** currents,ocean stratification,background circulation,and climate affect the temporal variations of wave speeds from days to months or *** fortnightly spring/neap tidal currents cause daily variations of wave speeds up to 40%by modulating the ISW *** addition to the well-accepted results that monthly variations of wave speeds are related to density stratification,we found that enhanced stratification increases wave speeds,and the background circulation leads to a maximum decrease of 0.27 m/s in the linear counterparts of wave ***,the averaged wave speed collected in October is lower than the corresponding linear one possibly due to some unknown dynamical processes or underestimation of background *** for the interannual variations,we show that wave speed increases in La Niña years and decreases in El Niño years as a result of the climatic modulation on the depth of the maximum value of buoyancy frequency.

The micro-turbine (MT) system plays an important role in the gas-electricity combined system. For an isolated gas-electricity combined system, effective speed-tracking control is critical for a stable power supply. This study employs a linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC) technique to achieve precise speed-tracking for the MT system with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). Beginning with looking into the MT system's internal structure, the mathematical model of the speed control loop is derived. A third-order extended state observer (ESO) is established to manage lumped model disturbances. Leveraging the ESO, the proposed LADRC-based speed controller facilitates accurate speed tracking. Recognizing the limited observer bandwidth in extensive time-lag systems, an enhanced version of the regular ESO is introduced, leading to an improved LADRC with a smaller control input gain, bigger bandwidth, and enhanced disturbance rejection capabilities for speed control. Simulation results demonstrate the improved control performance of the LADRC-based speed controller for the MT system. © 2024 IEEE.

We present an optimization framework for designing multiple freeform lenses to achieve high-performance oblique illumination. The optimization process involves two steps: optimizing the irradiance distribution on an intermediate plane and fine-tuning the surface parameters to achieve the desired tilted target irradiance distribution. The framework could be used to design freeform illumination systems with an arbitrary number of lenses without significantly increasing the computational resource requirements. Leveraging differentiable ray tracing (DRT), we design a compact system with double freeform lenses, realizing a high tilt angle (TA) of 78.86◦ and an average spacing-to-height ratio (SHR) of 3.77. It holds significant potential for applications in the design of vehicle headlights, industrial vision inspection, and decoration lighting. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. We consider collaborative perception (CP) systems where a fusion center monitors various regions by multiple sources. The center has different age of information (AoI) constraints for different regions. Multi-view sensing data for a region generated by sources can be fused by the center for a reliable representation of the region. To ensure accurate perception, differences between generation time of asynchronous status updates for CP fusion should not exceed a certain threshold. An algorithm named scheduling for CP with asynchronous status updates (SCPA) is proposed to minimize the number of required channels and subject to AoI constraints with asynchronous status updates. SCPA first identifies a set of sources that can satisfy the constraints with minimum updating rates. It then chooses scheduling intervals and offsets for the sources such that the number of required channels is optimized. According to numerical results, the number of channels required by SCPA can reach only 12% more than a derived lower bound. © 2023 IFIP.

This paper proposes a fabrication method for realizing all-optical AND and NOR logic gates based on polarization holography. During the recording process, two specially designed polarization holograms are recorded at the dual-region position of the polarization-sensitive material. During the reconstruction process, two reading waves in different directions are used as two input lightwaves. The background lightwave is added to the propagation direction of the two reconstructed waves, and the two reconstructed waves superimposed with the background lightwave are used as two output lightwaves. The light intensity of the two output lightwaves, together, defines the logic signal of the final output. The all-optical AND and NOR logic gates fabricated using this method have the advantages of simple structure, low cost, and fast response. © 2024 SPIE.
