Soft Short-circuit Fault Diagnosis of the Lithium-ion Battery Pack Based on an Improved EKF Algorithm

Background: Lithium-ion batteries are widely used in new energy vehicles and energy storage systems due to their superior performance. However, lithium batteries are prone to safety problems in the use process, so the fault diagnosis technology of lithium batteries has attracted more attention. Objective: This study aimed to ensure the safety of lithium batteries and accurately and timely diagnose the soft short circuit (soft SC) fault of lithium battery Methods: Aiming at the energy storage lithium battery pack, this study proposed a soft short-circuit fault diagnosis method for the lithium-ion battery pack based on the improved Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm. First, the 1st-order RC equivalent circuit model of normal battery and soft SC fault battery was established, and model parameters were identified using Recursive Least Squares with Forgetting Factor (FFRLS). Then, using the improved EKF, the state of charge (SOC) of a single cell was estimated, and the difference between the calculated SOC and the estimated SOC by the coulomb count-ing method was used to detect soft SC faults and compared them with the reference data. Finally, the SC resistance value indicated the severity of the fault. Results: The proposed method could accurately diagnose the soft short circuit fault, and the error was found to be lower than the traditional EKF algorithm. The estimation error was about 0.4% for the battery with slight failure and about 1.5% for the battery with serious failure. Conclusion: The experimental results showed that the improved EKF algorithm could estimate the SOC difference more accurately, and the effect of soft SC fault diagnosis was better. At the same time, it could quantitatively identify the size of the short circuit resistance, which is very helpful for the subse-quent management of the battery system. © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

Citations using URL (URL citations) that appear in scholarly papers can be used as an information source for the research resource search engines. In particular, the information about the types of cited resources and reasons for their citation is crucial to describe the resources and their relations in the search services. To obtain this information, previous studies proposed some methods for classifying URL citations. However, their methods trained the model using a simple fine-tuning strategy and exhibited insufficient performance. We propose a classification method using a novel intermediate task. Our method trains the model on our intermediate task of identifying whether sample pairs belong to the same class before being fine-tuned on the target task. In the experiment, our method outperformed previous methods using the simple fine-tuning strategy with higher macro F-scores for different model sizes and architectures. Our analysis results indicate that the model learns the class boundaries of the target task by training our intermediate task. Our intermediate task also demonstrated higher performance and computational efficiency than an alternative intermediate task using triplet loss. Finally, we applied our method to other text classification tasks and confirmed the effectiveness when a simple fine-tuning strategy does not stably work. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Reversible Data Hiding in Shared Images with Separate Cover Image Reconstruction and Secret Extraction

Reversible data hiding is widely utilized for secure communication and copyright protection. Recently, to improve embedding capacity and visual quality of stego-images, some Partial Reversible Data Hiding (PRDH) schemes are proposed. But these schemes are over the plaintext domain. To protect the privacy of the cover image, Reversible Data Hiding in Encrypted Images (RDHEI) techniques are preferred. In addition, the full separability of cover image reconstruction and data restoration is also an important characteristic that cannot be achieved by most RDHEI schemes. To solve the issues, a partial and a complete Reversible Data Hiding in Shared Images with Separate Cover Image Reconstruction and Secret Extraction (RDHSI-SRE) are proposed in this paper. In the proposed schemes, the secret data is divided by Secret Sharing (SS). Then, the marked shared images are generated based on the proposed modify-and-recalculate strategy. The receiver can extract embedded data and reconstruct the image separably using k-out-of-n marked shared images. In the embedding phase of partial RDHSI-SRE (PRDHSI-SRE), the pixel values are modified according to the proposed Minimizing-Square-Errors Strategy to achieve high visual quality, and the complete RDHSI-SRE (CRDHSI-SRE) embeds data by modifying random coefficients to achieve reversibility. The experimental results and theoretical analyses demonstrate that the proposed schemes have a high embedding performance. Most importantly, the proposed schemes are fault-tolerant and completely separable. © 2013 IEEE.

Infinite volume expansion and uncontrolled lithium dendrite growth are the main bottlenecks that greatly hinder the commercial application of lithium metal ***,derived from zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF)-67,carbon nanotubes(CNTs)-wrapped and CoP/Co_(2)P uniformly distributed nitrogen-doped hollow porous polyhedron carbon(CNT-CoP@NC)is elaborately designed as lithium metal host.A hybrid of N-doping and metallic phosphides modifications improves the lithiophilicity and reduces the nucleation barrier,consequently leading to homogeneous nucleation and smooth deposition of metallic lithium,thus suppresses the growth of Li ***,self-generated CNTs arrays efficiently reduce the local current ***,the reduced lithium is preferentially deposited into the hollow structure of CNT-CoP@NC and then filled the voids among the CNT-CoP@NC *** all-pervasive Li plating design can not only alleviate the volume effect,but also maximize the anode space *** from these synergistic modulations,even with an ultra-thin(7.2μm)anode layer of CNT-CoP@NC host,a high Coulombic efficiency for more than 400 cycles and an extended lifespan of 1,700 h under 1 mA·cm^(−2)can be *** paired with a competitive high mass loading(17.1 mg·cm^(−2))LiFePO4 cathode,a superb cycling stability(126.7 mAh·g^(−1)over 550 cycles)is recorded at 1 C.

In this paper,we study the system performance of mobile edge computing(MEC)wireless sensor networks(WSNs)using a multiantenna access point(AP)and two sensor clusters based on uplink nonorthogonal multiple access(NOMA).Due to limited computation and energy resources,the cluster heads(CHs)offload their tasks to a multiantenna AP over Nakagami-m *** proposed a combination protocol for NOMA-MEC-WSNs in which the AP selects either selection combining(SC)or maximal ratio combining(MRC)and each cluster selects a CH to participate in the communication process by employing the sensor node(SN)*** derive the closed-form exact expressions of the successful computation probability(SCP)to evaluate the system performance with the latency and energy consumption constraints of the considered *** results are provided to gain insight into the system performance in terms of the SCP based on system parameters such as the number of AP antennas,number of SNs in each cluster,task length,working frequency,offloading ratio,and transmit power ***,to determine the optimal resource parameters,i.e.,the offloading ratio,power allocation of the two CHs,and MEC AP resources,we proposed two algorithms to achieve the best system *** approach reveals that the optimal parameters with different schemes significantly improve SCP compared to other similar *** use Monte Carlo simulations to confirm the validity of our analysis.

The principal method employed for the three-dimensional(3D) reconstruction of asteroids is the optimisation method based on spherical harmonic functions. Nevertheless, this approach is inherently time-consuming and prone to local optima, which can lead to the emergence of distortions in the resulting 3D shapes. In order to address these issues, this paper puts forward a deep learning-based method for the reconstruction of asteroids in three dimensions. The dataset employed for the deep learning method comprises multi-angle range-Doppler images of asteroids consisting of a range of shapes. In order to demonstrate the robustness of this method, this paper presents the reconstruction of 3D models of asteroids with several different shapes. This paper provides a comparison of the reconstruction accuracy. The above analysis demonstrates that the proposed method is effective in reconstructing 3D models of asteroids. This paper improves the limitations of conventional methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper mainly describes the Adam method under the problem of retrieving asteroid rotation and 3D model from radar 2D images. We improve on the traditional method by introducing computational graph and back propagation algorithm in deep learning to improve the operation speed and calculation accuracy of the gradient, and adopt Adam optimizer to accelerate the convergence speed and avoid local minimum. We compare this method with the existing Gauss-Newton method, Levenberg-Marquardt method, and conclude that the Adam method is better than the Gauss-Newton method and Levenberg-Marquardt method in convergence speed, two-dimensional image fitting accuracy, three-dimensional model fitting accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a joint design for the coexistence of enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and ultra-reliable and random low-latency communication (URLLC) with different transmission time intervals (TTI): an eMBB scheduler operating at the beginning of each eMBB TTI to decide the coding redundancy of eMBB code blocks, and a URLLC scheduler at the beginning of each mini-slot to perform immediate preemption to ensure that the randomly arriving URLLC traffic is allocated with enough radio resource and the eMBB traffic keeps acceptable one-shot transmission successful probability and *** framework for schedulers under hybrid-TTI is developed and a method to configure eMBB code block based on URLLC traffic arrival prediction is implemented. Simulations show that our work improves the throughput of eMBB traffic without sacrificing the reliablity while supporting randomly arriving URLLC traffic. © 2024 IEEE.
