Data security has become a growing priority due to the increasing frequency of cyber-attacks,necessitating the development of more advanced encryption *** paper introduces Single Qubit Quantum Logistic-Sine XYZ-Rotation Maps(SQQLSR),a quantum-based chaos map designed to generate one-dimensional chaotic sequences with an ultra-wide parameter *** proposed model leverages quantum superposition using Hadamard gates and quantum rotations along the X,Y,and Z axes to enhance *** numerical experiments validate the effectiveness of *** proposed method achieves a maximum Lyapunov exponent(LE)of≈55.265,surpassing traditional chaotic maps in *** bifurcation analysis confirms a uniform chaotic distribution,eliminating periodic windows and ensuring higher *** system also generates an expanded key space exceeding 10^(40),enhancing security against brute-force ***,SQQLSR is applied to image encryption using a simple three-layer encryption scheme combining permutation and substitution *** approach is intentionally designed to highlight the impact of SQQLSR-generated chaotic sequences rather than relying on a complex encryption *** method achieves an average entropy of 7.9994,NPCR above 99.6%,and UACI within 32.8%–33.8%,confirming its strong randomness and sensitivity to minor *** robustness tests against noise,cropping,and JPEG compression demonstrate its resistance to statistical and differential ***,the decryption process ensures perfect image reconstruction with an infinite PSNR value,proving the algorithm’s *** results highlight SQQLSR’s potential as a lightweight yet highly secure encryption mechanism suitable for quantum cryptography and secure communications.

Diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration pose a significant risk to vision, highlighting the importance of precise segmentation of retinal vessels for tracking and diagnosis of progression. However, existing vessel segmentation methods that heavily rely on encoder-decoder structures struggle to capture contextual information about retinal vessel configurations, leading to challenges in reconciling semantic disparities between encoder and decoder features. To address this, we propose a novel feature enhancement segmentation network (FES-Net) that achieves accurate pixel-wise segmentation without requiring additional image enhancement steps. FES-Net directly processes the input image and utilizes four prompt convolutional blocks (PCBs) during downsampling, complemented by a shallow upsampling approach to generate a binary mask for each class. We evaluate the performance of FES-Net on four publicly available state-of-the-art datasets: DRIVE, STARE, CHASE, and HRF. The evaluation results clearly demonstrate the superior performance of FES-Net compared to other competitive approaches documented in the existing literature. © 2023 IEEE.

ATM-NeRF: Accelerating Training for NeRF Rendering on Mobile Devices via Geometric Regularization

Recently, an increasing number of researchers have been dedicated to transferring the impressive novel view synthesis capability of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) to resource-constrained mobile devices. One common solution is to pre-train NeRF and bake it into textured meshes which are well supported by mobile graphics hardware. However, the training process of existing methods often requires several hours even with multiple high-end NVIDIA V100 GPUs. The underlying reason is that these schemes mainly rely on photometric rendering loss, neglecting the geometric relationship between the pre-trained NeRF and the baked results. Standing on this point, we present ATM-NeRF (Accelerating Training for Mobile rendering based on NeRF), which is the first to apply effective geometric regularization constraints during both the pre-training and the baking training stages for faster convergence. Specifically, in the initial NeRF pre-training stage, we enforce consistency of the multi-resolution density grids representing the scene geometry to mitigate the shape-radiance ambiguity problem to some extent, achieving a coarse mesh with smoothness. In the second stage, we utilize the positions and geometric features of 3D points projected from the pre-trained posed depths to provide geometric supervision for joint refinement of geometry and appearance of the coarse mesh. As a result, our ATM-NeRF achieves comparable rendering quality to MobileNeRF with a training speed that is about 30× ∼ 70× faster while maintaining finer structure details of the exported mesh. When used in a real-world noisy environment, the capacity to generalize to multiple domains is essential for any autonomous scene text spotting system. However, existing state-of-the-art methods employ pretraining and fine-tuning strategies on natural scene datasets, which do not exploit the feature interaction across other complex domains. In this work, we explore and investigate the problem of domain-agnostic scene text spotting, i.e., training a model on multi-domain source data such that it can directly generalize to target domains rather than being specialized for a specific domain or scenario. In this regard, we present the community a text spotting validation benchmark called Under-Water Text (UWT) for noisy underwater scenes to establish an important case study. Moreover, we also design an efficient super-resolution based end-to-end transformer baseline called DA-TextSpotter which achieves comparable or superior performance over existing text spotting architectures for both regular and arbitrary-shaped scene text spotting benchmarks in terms of both accuracy and model efficiency. The dataset, code and pre-trained models have been released in our Github.

Diffusion models have demonstrated remarkable efficacy in generating high-quality samples. Existing diffusion-based image restoration algorithms exploit pre-trained diffusion models to leverage data priors, yet they still preserve elements inherited from the unconditional generation paradigm. These strategies initiate the denoising process with pure white noise and incorporate random noise at each generative step, leading to over-smoothed results. In this paper, we present a refined paradigm for diffusion-based image restoration. Specifically, we opt for a sample consistent with the measurement identity at each generative step, exploiting the sampling selection as an avenue for output stability and enhancement. The number of candidate samples used for selection is adaptively determined based on the signal-to-noise ratio of the timestep. Additionally, we start the restoration process with an initialization combined with the measurement signal, providing supplementary information to better align the generative process. Extensive experimental results and analyses validate that our proposed method significantly enhances image restoration performance while consuming negligible additional computational resources. © 2024 ACM.

The infection of Plasmodium vivax is relatively less virulent than the deathliest Plasmodium falciparum. However, it still can lead to a fatal case and often induces recurring malaria due to dormant parasites in the liver. Thus, the research to study the drug to treat Plasmodium vivax is essential, where the enzyme dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) has recently become a new drug target. However, the drug-enzyme interaction study has only recently been conducted in Plasmodium falciparum (pfDHODH) due to the lack of the 3D structure of enzyme DHODH from Plasmodium vivax that is crucial for the study. Therefore, this study aimed to perform the modelling study of Plasmodium vivax DHODH (PvDHODH) to create a 3D structure as a basis for drug-protein interaction study in upcoming studies. Sequence pvDHODH (Accession: SCO68359.1) was used in homology modelling using Modeller 10.2 with the crystal structure of DHODH from DHODH (Accession: 7KZY) as a template. Overall, the model generated from the homology modelling was considered a good model, and the 3D structure was close to the native state according to several parameters, including DOPE score, GA341 score, QMEAN4 value, 3D-1D score, ERRAT2 score, and ProSA score. Ramachandran plot also revealed that almost all amino acids were distributed in the desirable and allowed area (99.1%), and only 0.9% were in generously allowed regions. Superimposition of the model with the template also indicated that the model has an almost similar structure and amino acids positioning, including in the binding pocket and active site. Therefore, the model can be used for downstream analysis in drug-protein interaction studies. Nevertheless, some improvements can still be performed to upgrade the quality of the model by deleting unaligned residues on the C-terminal and realigning the residues at the doubting site. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial internet of things (IIoT) is the usage of internet of things(IoT) devices and applications for the purpose of sensing, processing andcommunicating real-time events in the industrial system to reduce the unnecessary operational cost and enhance manufacturing and other industrial-relatedprocesses to attain more profits. However, such IoT based smart industriesneed internet connectivity and interoperability which makes them susceptibleto numerous cyber-attacks due to the scarcity of computational resourcesof IoT devices and communication over insecure wireless channels. Therefore, this necessitates the design of an efficient security mechanism for IIoTenvironment. In this paper, we propose a hyperelliptic curve cryptography(HECC) based IIoT Certificateless Signcryption (IIoT-CS) scheme, with theaim of improving security while lowering computational and communicationoverhead in IIoT environment. HECC with 80-bit smaller key and parameterssizes offers similar security as elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) with 160-bitlong key and parameters sizes. We assessed the IIoT-CS scheme security byapplying formal and informal security evaluation techniques. We used Realor Random (RoR) model and the widely used automated validation of internet security protocols and applications (AVISPA) simulation tool for formalsecurity analysis and proved that the IIoT-CS scheme provides resistance tovarious attacks. Our proposed IIoT-CS scheme is relatively less expensivecompared to the current state-of-the-art in terms of computational cost andcommunication overhead. Furthermore, the IIoT-CS scheme is 31.25% and 51.31% more efficient in computational cost and communication overhead,respectively, compared to the most recent protocol.
