It is well known that in one-dimensional(1D) crystalline insulators,the electric polarization is a manifestation of Berry phase,which can not be quantized by time-reversal symmetry(TRS) as in Hermitian physics TRS does not induce any topological phase in one *** this paper we report that even though associated with complex eigenenergies a 1D non-Hermitian insulator obeying only TRS is capable of presenting quantized bulk *** underlying physical reason is unveiled:TRS guarantees the complex energies to come in pair(E,E*),and the corresponding decaying and amplifying wave functions also come in pair and have the same variation rate,hence,giving rise to a stable wannier *** electron transport is performed by means of charge pumping process,which verifies the physical mechanism *** last,we discuss the possible experimental implementation of the proposed model by means of twisted-π gauge flux.

In opportunistic networks, it is a challenge to find the best relay node instead of blindly selecting from among available nodes to forward messages and effectively transmit them to their destinations. By comparing the similarity between nodes, the next hop node that is most similar to the destination node is found in time. Existing node similarity-based opportunistic networks routing algorithms only calculate similarity between nodes according to nodes' properties that can be directly obtained from the network, such as the historical meeting record between nodes, etc. However, this superficial similarity calculation is obviously inadequate to describe the inherent dynamic nature of opportunistic networks at both spatial and temporal levels, and ignores the salient movement characteristics of nodes, resulting in poor routing performance. Therefore, this paper proposes an opportunistic network routing strategy based on pre-training and fine-tuning (PTFT) model. Firstly, an autoencoder is added to the graph neural network model to encode node movement behavior. Then, a pre-training graph neural network model in large scale opportunistic network scenarios is applied to learn potential features of nodes through fine-tuning. Finally, we calculate the similarity between nodes based on the node potential feature, thereby assisting the nodes to achieve an efficient routing decision. The simulation results show that our PTFT-based algorithm not only has superior performance compared to traditional routing algorithms, but also faster learning speed than other machine learning-based routing algorithms. © 2024 IEEE.

When deploying workflows in cloud environments,the use of Spot Instances(SIs)is intriguing as they are much cheaper than on-demand ***,Sls are volatile and may be revoked at any time,which results in a more challenging scheduling problem involving execution interruption and hence hinders the successful handling of conventional cloud workflow scheduling *** some scheduling methods for Sls have been proposed,most of them are no more applicable to the latest Sls,as they have evolved by eliminating bidding and simplifying the pricing *** study focuses on how to minimize the execution cost with a deadline constraint when deploying a workflow on volatile Sls in cloud *** on Monte Carlo simulation and list scheduling,a stochastic scheduling method called MCLS is devised to optimize a utility function introduced for this *** the Monte Carlo simulation framework,MCLS employs sampled task execution time to build solutions via deadline distribution and list scheduling,and then returns the most robust solution from all the candidates with a specific evaluation mechanism and selection *** results show that the performance of MCLS is more competitive comparedwithtraditionalalgorithms.

The principle and application of single-chip microcomputer is a strong theoretical and practical course. By the analysis on traditional teaching mode of principle and application of single-chip microcomputer, the current problems existing in the single-chip microcomputer teaching process is obtained. The current teaching methods are unfavorable to the cultivation of learner's personality and innovative talents. Flipped classroom can transform the students' passive learning to active learning, so it is completely necessary and urgent that flipped classroom method apply and practice in the teaching process of principle and application of single-chip microcomputer. Two different types flipped classroom teaching model of the single-chip microcomputer based on Teaching mode of the single-chip microcomputer based on micro-lesson is designed. The teaching mode design of the single-chip microcomputer based on flipped classroom is realized. Some achievements are obtained. Application of flipped classroom teaching method in the single-chip microcomputer course plays a key role for improving engineering students' practical operation and technical innovation ability. © 2024 IEEE.

Boasting superior flexibility in beam manipulation and a simpler framework than traditional phased arrays,terahertz metasurface-based phased arrays show great promise for 5G-A/6G communication *** with the reflective reconfigurable intelligent surface(reflective RIS),the transmissive RIS(TRIS)offers more feasibility for transceiver multiplexing systems to meet the growing demand for high-performance beam tracking in terahertz communication and radar ***,the terahertz TRIS encounters greater challenges in phase shift,beam efficiency,and complex ***,we propose a sub-terahertz TRIS based on the phase shift via Pancharatnam-Berry(PB)metasurface and self-on-off keying(OOK)modulation via Schottky *** electrically reconfigurable unit cell consists of a column-wise phase resonator and a rectangular *** experimental retrieved equivalent lumped-element circuit model is implemented in joint field-circuit simulations and is validated by experiments.A fabricated prototype demonstrates excellent performance of TRIS with the minimum insertion loss of 2.8 dB for operational states,large bandwidth nearly covering the entire W-band for 1-bit phase shift,deep OOK amplitude modulation of 12 dB,and wide scanning range of±60°with low specular *** further implement an integrated platform combining high-speed beam steering and spatial-light modulation,verifying the point-to-point signal transmissions in different directions using the TRIS *** proposed TRIS with high-performance and cost-effective fabrication makes it a promising solution to terahertz minimalist communication systems,radar,and satellite communication systems.

Media power,the impact that media have on public opinion and perspectives,plays a significant role in maintaining internal stability,exerting external influence,and shaping international dynamics for nations/***,prior research has primarily concentrated on news content and reporting time,resulting in limitations in evaluating media *** more accurately assess media power,we use news content,news reporting time,and news emotion simultaneously to explore the emotional contagion between *** use emotional contagion to measure the mutual influence between media and regard the media with greater impact as having stronger media *** propose a framework called Measuring Media Power via Emotional Contagion(MMPEC)to capture emotional contagion among media,enabling a more accurate assessment of media power at the media and national/regional *** also interprets experimental results through correlation and causality analyses,ensuring *** analyses confirm the higher accuracy of MMPEC compared to other baseline models,as demonstrated in the context of COVID-19-related news,yielding compelling and interesting insights.

Traditional fully annotated closed set 3D object detection methods improve model performance but are impractical in real-world settings due to the emergence of new categories and the complexity of 3D annotations. Open-World Object Detection (OWOD) addresses these issues but relies heavily on manual labeling, which is costly. This paper focuses on open world active learning and proposes an entropy-guided reinforced open world active 3D object detection (EROA). EROA regards active learning as a reinforcement learning problem tailored for open driving scenarios. We use entropy as a reward metric for efficient reinforcement learning. We also leverage knowledge from the 2D domain using object-level large-scale vision-language models to enhance sample selection. Extensive experiments evidence that the proposed EROA meets the dynamic and cost-sensitive requirements of autonomous driving, enabling real-time detection of both known and unknown objects. © 2024 IEEE.

Various training-based spatial filtering methods have been proposed to classify steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP)-based brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). However, many overlook the temporal instability of SSVEPs, leading to decreased classification performance. Therefore, we propose an SSVEP decoding method that calculates template signals and spatial filters using the subject's impulse responses and periodic impulses, incorporating the temporally local correlation coefficient in the SSVEP decoding process. Then, we employ a combined correlation coefficient for SSVEP classification. The proposed method addresses the temporal instability of SSVEPs, with template signals that exhibit strong individual characteristics. Utilizing a public benchmark dataset, we achieved a classification accuracy of 87.43% and an ITR of 256.1 bits/min at 1s time window, demonstrating the performance of this method. Compared to other classical spatial filtering methods, the proposed method demonstrates superior classification performance, which can enhance the practical usability of SSVEP-BCI systems. © VDE VERLAG GMBH.

The medical community has more concern on lung cancer *** experts’physical segmentation of lung cancers is time-consuming and needs to be *** research study’s objective is to diagnose lung tumors at an early stage to extend the life of humans using deep learning ***-Aided Diagnostic(CAD)system aids in the diagnosis and shortens the time necessary to detect the tumor *** application of Deep Neural Networks(DNN)has also been exhibited as an excellent and effective method in classification and segmentation *** research aims to separate lung cancers from images of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI)with threshold *** Honey hook process categorizes lung cancer based on characteristics retrieved using several *** this principle,the work presents a solution for image compression utilizing a Deep Wave Auto-Encoder(DWAE).The combination of the two approaches significantly reduces the overall size of the feature set required for any future classification process performed using *** proposed DWAE-DNN image classifier is applied to a lung imaging dataset with Radial Basis Function(RBF)*** study reported promising results with an accuracy of 97.34%,whereas using the Decision Tree(DT)classifier has an accuracy of 94.24%.The proposed approach(DWAE-DNN)is found to classify the images with an accuracy of 98.67%,either as malignant or normal *** contrast to the accuracy requirements,the work also uses the benchmark standards like specificity,sensitivity,and precision to evaluate the efficiency of the *** is found from an investigation that the DT classifier provides the maximum performance in the DWAE-DNN depending on the network’s performance on image testing,as shown by the data acquired by the categorizers themselves.
