The task of long-term action anticipation demands solutions that can effectively model temporal dynamics over extended periods while deeply understanding the inherent semantics of actions. Traditional approaches, which primarily rely on recurrent units or Transformer layers to capture long-term dependencies, often fall short in addressing these challenges. Large Language Models (LLMs), with their robust sequential modeling capabilities and extensive commonsense knowledge, present new opportunities for long-term action anticipation. In this work, we introduce the ActionLLM framework, a novel approach that treats video sequences as successive tokens, leveraging LLMs to anticipate future actions. Our baseline model simplifies the LLM architecture by setting future tokens, incorporating an action tuning module, and reducing the textual decoder layer to a linear layer, enabling straightforward action prediction without the need for complex instructions or redundant descriptions. To further harness the commonsense reasoning of LLMs, we predict action categories for observed frames and use sequential textual clues to guide semantic understanding. In addition, we introduce a Cross-Modality Interaction Block, designed to explore the specificity within each modality and capture interactions between vision and textual modalities, thereby enhancing multimodal tuning. Extensive experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed ActionLLM framework, encouraging a promising direction to explore LLMs in the context of action anticipation. As a promising non-contact and non-invasive manipulation technology, acoustic particle manipulation (APM) has wide application potential in fields like material science, chemical analysis, biomedical engineering, etc., particularly given its mechanical vibration nature and impressive biocompatibility. One of the key research areas in APM is designing and implementing different acoustic beams for different application scenarios. Bessel beams, in both zeroth-order or high order form, have thus gained great attention in academia for its excellent propagation characteristics, like non-diffraction, self-healing, etc., which are quite favored in applications like targeted drug delivery. In this paper, we propose a MEMS zeroth-order Bessel beam acoustic transducer (BBAT) based on soft-lithography, in terms of its design, simulation, fabrication, and experiments over its capacity for negative impedance contrast particle trapping and transportation in water medium. The proposed BBAT has advantages over existing technology from the perspectives of monolithic compactness, portability, and bio-compatible. Experimental results well demonstrated that the BBAT can firmly trap and transport particle in long distance, which can benefit cell manipulation and drug delivery. © 2022 IEEE.

The tumor microenvironment (TME) is important to the treatment and prognosis of cancer. Multiplex Immunohistochemical (mIHC) images can display the expression of multiple biomolecular markers while maintaining spatial location, making it an effective tool for TME analysis. However, acquiring mlHC images demands stringent laboratory conditions, extensive time and resources. In this study, we proposed an end-to-end generative framework to transform hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) images into mIHC images. In addition, we introduced a pathological foundation model into the feature encoding of pathological image generation to enhance the performance of our framework and proved the superiority and necessity of the foundation model. Our method successfully generated mIHC images, achieved state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance against popular methods and maintained robustness on cross-cancer. The framework we proposed is expected to provide a more efficient and cheaper tool for the observation and evaluation of TME in pathology. © 2025 IEEE.

Coronary artery disease remains a significant global health concern, leading to high morbidity and mortality, with conditions like spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) presenting unique challenges in diagnosis and treatment. SCAD, a critical cause of acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction, complicates percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) due to the fragility of the affected vessels. To improve PCI techniques specifically tailored to treat SCAD, we developed an ex-vivo biorobotic coronary artery flow simulator to model SCAD in a benchtop setup. The simulator integrates intraventricular balloons, McKibben soft robotic actuators, and a synchronized flow loop to replicate physiological coronary flow and myocardial wall motion in an explanted porcine heart. After recreating healthy conditions of ventricular wall motion and coronary flow, we induced a coronary dissection model, performed stent implantation, and assessed the intervention deployment using intravascular optical coherence tomography (IV-OCT). This platform can potentially enable precise testing of interventional strategies, improve PCI techniques, examine catheter or PCI-induced dissection, train clinicians, and facilitate testing of novel coronary imaging and intervention devices.

Log-based anomaly detection plays a crucial role in maintaining the reliability of software systems. Unsupervised models are more suitable for real-world usage because they do not rely on huge data labeling efforts. However, their effectiveness is limited because of the lack of supervision of data labels. To balance model effectiveness and labeling efforts, existing approaches enhance model capabilities by incorporating relatively few but key human labels as a golden signal, thereby improving the model ability with acceptable labeling efforts. However, these methods still face limitations of complex human labels and insufficient utilization of human knowledge. In this paper, we introduce LogCAE, a two-stage log anomaly detection approach based on active learning and contrastive learning. It utilizes an unsupervised model to learn from unlabeled log data without human labels and incorporates human knowledge through active learning during online optimization. We employ contrastive learning to optimize the representation of log samples in feature space for more efficient usage of human labels. We conducted experiments on three distinct public log datasets (Thunderbird, BGL, and Zookeeper). The results show that our method improves 12.93% F1-score on average with 6.06% labeled data samples. Besides, our approach is more effective in utilizing human labels than state-of-the-art approaches.

A virtual private cloud (VPC) is often comprised of a set of virtual computing, storage and network resource which is allocated from a public cloud. Public clouds build virtualized resource pools based on physical infrastructure including generic x86 servers, network devices (e.g. switches, routers, firewalls), storage servers and so forth to dynamically provision virtual computing and storage resource to customers, while virtual network is a bridge that connects all the computing resource in a VPC and segregates network traffic between different VPCs. One VPC may contain multiple subnets, which makes private virtual network should provide the capability of communications between virtual computing resources i.e. virtual machines’ communication through Layer-2 switching and Layer-3 routing simultaneously. In this paper we propose a fully distributed routing architecture (FDRA) for private virtual network to fulfill the requirements of public cloud. FDRA splits the VPC traffic into two categories, i.e. the traffic goes inside of a VPC and the traffic goes out of a VPC, and presents two different routing entities to route different traffic issued from virtual machines in a VPC. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

E-commerce has taken the world by a storm, opening a new world of business and consumption at one’s fingertips. It is if not the most turned to, then one of the most relied-on methods of consumption in today’s era. Since its peak, an uncountable number of businesses have turned to e-commerce as a mode of business. To a certain extent, this shift is necessary and inevitable, considering the rate at which digitalization is developing and incorporated into lives in the long haul. Web development is an integral part of e-commerce and is key in ensuring its success, making it an inseparable aspect of e-commerce. With the many methods of development at hand, this article seeks to shed light on how *** can be optimized in the front-end development of a web application, demonstrating its use in Thiqah, the web application developed for this purpose. Exponential quantum advantages for practical non-Hermitian eigenproblems

While non-Hermitian physics has attracted considerable attention, current studies are limited to small or classically solvable systems. Quantum computing, as a powerful eigensolver, have predominantly been applied to Hermitian domain, leaving their potential for studying non-Hermitian problems largely unexplored. We extend the power of quantum computing to general non-Hermitian eigenproblems. Our approach works for finding eigenvalues without extra constrains, or eigenvalues closest to specified points or lines, thus extending results for ground energy and energy gap problems for Hermitian matrices. Our algorithms have broad applications, and as examples, we consider two central problems in non-Hermitian physics. Firstly, our approach is the first to offer an efficient quantum solution to the witness of spontaneous PT-symmetry breaking, and provide provable, exponential quantum advantage. Secondly, our approach enables the estimation of Liouvillian gap, which is crucial for characterizing relaxation times. Our general approach can also find applications in many other areas, such as the study of Markovian stochastic processes. These results underscore the significance of our quantum algorithms for addressing practical eigenproblems across various disciplines. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The MURDOC project introduces an application to enhance trustworthiness and explainability in computer vision models, focusing on camouflage detection. It aims to address the need for transparent and interpretable AI systems in sensitive domains such as security and defense. MURDOC integrates advanced eXplainable AI techniques including off-ramps for collecting interpretable insights, attention mechanisms for high-lighting relevant features, and a user-centric image pre-processing tool within the visualization interface. This paper offers an assessment of MURDOC's potential impact on trustworthiness and explainability in camouflaged object detection tasks. It discusses and assesses the potential effectiveness of off-ramps in gathering XAI output at various model stages, such as feature maps, attention mechanisms, and activation maps. Additionally, the paper investigates how user-driven image pre-processing mechanisms may enhance the trustworthiness of the model's predictions and decisions, allowing users to modify the input and observe prediction changes. As a work in progress, the development of MURDOC shows promise in bridging the gap for transparency and interpretability in camouflage detection. The paper also discusses the challenges, future directions, and potential applications of MURDOC's capabilities in diverse domains requiring transparent and trustworthy AI systems.
