Relaying secondary device as the first line of defense for power grid stability, is the guardian of power grid safety. To improve the automation level of evaluation for secondary maintenance worker of relaying, a relaying secondary device evaluation system of intelligent substation based on platen condition monitoring is proposed. The system has implemented communication function of the device such as the hard platen of relaying device, telemetry, remote signaling, remote control, setting and so on, comprehensively collect the on/off status of hard platen for each device, analyze the operation processing of examinee, create the achievement and analysis. Increasing the professional quality and ability level of secondary maintenance worker of relaying over all , reduce the probability of operation errors, ensure the safety of grid. © 2024 IEEE.

The natural abundance of solar energy and its favorable environmental impacts have led to growing acceptance and utilization as the world transitions from a fossil fuel-based economy to a cleaner, more sustainable, and ecologically friendly alternative. An increasing number of solar photovoltaic projects have emerged to capitalize on these benefits. However, factors such as weather conditions, exposure to natural elements, device deterioration, improper installations, and maintenance concerns can eventually compromise these systems' power-generating performance and dependability over time. This study demonstrates how the random forest machine learning classifier can be used to monitor and categorize the performance of solar PV plants to ensure their reliability and efficiency. The study collected and preprocessed a field dataset containing various environmental and electrical parameters. These parameters include plant capacity, active power, generating capacity, ambient temperature, global radiation, and module temperature. This data was used to train a random forest machine learning algorithm to categorize the operational condition of the solar power plant. The results demonstrate that the model efficiently classified the operational condition of the solar power plant by effectively identifying conditions such as optimal mode, moderate sub-optimal mode, severe sub-optimal mode, critical mode, emergency mode, and offline mode, achieving 99.92% accuracy on the test set. The proposed method provides an effective technique for estimating and monitoring the generating capacity and operational condition of solar power plants in near real time, thereby serving as a distinctive instrument for boosting the efficiency and reliability of solar power generation. © 2024 IEEE.

Developmental stages are a linguistic concept claiming that language learning, despite its large inter-individual variance, generally progresses in an ordered, step-like manner. At the core of research has been the acquisition of verb placement by learners, as conceptualized within Processability Theory (Pienemann, 1989). The computational implementation of a system detecting developmental stages is a prerequisite for an automated analysis of L2 language development. However, such an implementation faces two main challenges. The first is the lack of a fully fleshed out, coherent linguistic specification of the stages. The second concerns the translation of the linguistic specification into computational procedures that can extract clauses from learner-produced text and assign them to a developmental stage based on verb placement. Our contribution provides the necessary linguistic specification of the stages as well as detaiiled discussion and recommendations regarding computational implementation. © 2024 ELRA Language Resource Association: CC BY-NC 4.0.

Many important problems in science and engineering require solving the so-called parametric partial differential equations(PDEs),i.e.,PDEs with different physical parameters,boundary conditions,shapes of computational domains,*** reduced order modeling techniques accelerate the solution of the parametric PDEs by projecting them onto a linear trial manifold constructed in the ofline *** methods often need a predefined mesh as well as a series of precomputed solution snapshots,and may struggle to balance between the efficiency and accuracy due to the limitation of the linear *** the nonlinear representation of neural networks(NNs),we propose the Meta-Auto-Decoder(MAD)to construct a nonlinear trial manifold,whose best possible performance is measured theoretically by the decoder *** on the meta-learning concept,the trial manifold can be learned in a mesh-free and unsupervised way during the pre-training *** adaptation to new(possibly heterogeneous)PDE parameters is enabled by searching on this trial manifold,and optionally fine-tuning the trial manifold at the same *** numerical experiments show that the MAD method exhibits a faster convergence speed without losing the accuracy than other deep learning-based methods.

Background. Communication skills are a major priority for the successful treatment of people with autism, and technology has been in the recent years a powerful aid to rehabilitation professionals. Method. This paper describes a concept of a tablet app called "LIAR". LIAR, as in Language Interface For Autistic’s Rehabilitation, is a software specifically designed for the treatment of autistic people in developmental age. Our main goal is to build a dynamic PECS system, conjugating a sensory-enriched environment to increase motivation (technology Enhanced learning) and assisting communication through symbols. Our methodology, named i-Mand, is based on the Verbal Behavior theories as used by the PECS system. The program consists of five phases, each focusing on helping the children acquire specific communication-related skills. Conclusions. LIAR combines proven and evidence-based methodologies with the latest frontiers of technology. Our future researches will focus on evaluating the efficacy of LIAR in treating children with ASD. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Multiple choice question answering tasks evaluate the reasoning, comprehension, and mathematical abilities of Large Language Models (LLMs). While existing benchmarks employ automatic translation for multilingual evaluation, this approach is error-prone and potentially introduces culturally biased questions, especially in social sciences. We introduce the first multitask, multiple-choice Turkish QA benchmark, TurkishMMLU, to evaluate LLMs' understanding of the Turkish language. TurkishMMLU includes over 10,000 questions, covering 9 different subjects from Turkish high-school education curricula. These questions are written by curriculum experts, suitable for the high-school curricula in Turkey, covering subjects ranging from natural sciences and math questions to more culturally representative topics such as Turkish Literature and the history of the Turkish Republic. We evaluate over 20 LLMs, including multilingual open-source (e.g., Gemma, Llama, MT5), closed-source (GPT 4o, Claude, Gemini), and Turkish-adapted (e.g., Trendyol) models. We provide an extensive evaluation, including zero-shot and few-shot evaluation of LLMs, chain-of-thought reasoning, and question difficulty analysis along with model performance. We provide an in-depth analysis of the Turkish capabilities and limitations of current LLMs to provide insights for future LLMs for the Turkish language. Although lithium batteries dominate the rechargeable battery market, concern over safety and material supply have motivated scientists to develop non-lithium-based alternative such as zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). This work focuses on the development of polyelectrolyte complex-based cathode for ZIBs using a mild aqueous electrolyte such as ZnCl2 instead of KOH and to be further developed into wearable electronics. Composite polyelectrolyte complex electrodes with carbon black and polyaniline (PANI), or manganese oxide (MnO2) as active materials were prepared. The membranes were then further modified by electropolymerization of PANI to enhance the battery performance. Results show that electropolymerization leads to a threefold increase in ZIB performance with increased current density, power density, and specific energy capacity. Zinc chloride (ZnCl2;1 m) was used as a mild electrolyte instead of potassium chloride (KOH;6 m) leading to a reduced performance yet allowing for potential use in skin contact and wearable electronics. All the membranes were assembled into ZIB and tested using the battery testing machine. Scanning electron microscopy was used to observe the morphology of the electropolymerized PANI while attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy was used to confirm the chemical nature of PANI. © 2024 Emerald Publishing Limited: All rights reserved.

Designing an accurate and explainable reward function for many Reinforcement learning tasks is a cumbersome and tedious process. Instead, learning policies directly from the feedback of human teachers naturally integrates human domain knowledge into the policy optimization process. Different feedback modalities, such as demonstrations and preferences, provide distinct benefits and disadvantages. For example, demonstrations convey a lot of information about the task but are often hard or costly to obtain from real experts while preferences typically contain less information but are in most cases cheap to generate. However, existing methods centered around human feedback mostly focus on a single teaching modality, causing them to miss out on important training data while making them less intuitive to use. In this paper we propose a novel method for policy learning that incorporates two different feedback types, namely demonstrations and preferences. To this end, we make use of the connection between discriminator training and density ratio estimation to incorporate preferences into the popular Adversarial Imitation learning paradigm. This insight allows us to express loss functions over both demonstrations and preferences in a unified framework. Besides expert demonstrations, we are also able to learn from imperfect ones and combine them with preferences to achieve improved task performance. We experimentally validate the effectiveness of combining both preferences and demonstrations on common benchmarks and also show that our method can efficiently learn challenging robot manipulation tasks. © 2023 11th International Conference on learning Representations, ICLR 2023. Students' reading is an essential part of learning in college courses. However, many instructors are concerned that students do not complete assigned readings, and multiple studies have found evidence to support this concern. A handful of studies suggest adopting strategies to address students' lack of reading. This research examines various instructional strategies and student eTextbook reading behaviors validated by page view data. Survey responses related to use of instructional strategies were collected. A total of 86 instructors from four public universities participated. Of these participants, 59 submitted the assigned reading pages for their courses. This resulted in reading data from 3,714 students which were examined in this study. The findings indicated that students read about 37% of the assigned pages on any given day during the semester. Also, of the students that read, two-thirds made at least one annotation and students tend to re-read the pages they annotated. Most importantly, student reading in the courses where strategies were used was almost three times higher than in the courses where no strategies were implemented. © 2023 Owner/Author.

The manufacturing industry faces significant challenges in adapting to the COVID-19 pandemic and the shift towards mass customization, necessitating the reevaluation of traditional collaboration models. These models are challenged by the high costs of digital transformation, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and the complexities of integrating disparate digital systems among large and medium-sized enterprises (LMEs). This paper proposes a novel cloud platform network architecture, supported by a collaborative cloud platform and an interoperable semantic edge gateway, to enhance cross-enterprise collaboration. This architecture aims to overcome the heterogeneity of resources and enable seamless integration. The efficacy of this architecture is demonstrated through a case study on the collaborative production of a lubrication pump, showing advancements in manufacturing efficiency and resource optimization. The findings highlight the potential of cloud platform architectures to redefine collaborative manufacturing processes, with improvements in on-time delivery ratio and equipment utilization ratio as key outcomes. The study offers a promising direction for innovative solutions in the collaborative manufacturing sector. © 2024 The authors and IOS Press.
