Text mining was used to examine the academic publications on blockchain technology and cybersecurity that were published in huge digital libraries. Automated text mining methods like topic modeling and key word extraction are utilized in this literature study to extract topics from a vast corpus of literature. This article emphasizes the cross-disciplinary character of blockchain technology in the context of cybersecurity. The outcomes also show the risks and security holes that emerge as blockchain technology matures. Nevertheless, the investigation this article also outlines research gaps in the area of computer security and recommends research directions for future work that will be necessary to create safe blockchain platforms. © 2023 IEEE.

The problem of control synthesis for a mobile robot with phase constraints in the form of an arbitrarily located obstacle is formulated. To solve the problem, a numerical method of machine learning based on symbolic regression is used. According to the approach, in addition to its state, the object receives information about the distance to the obstacle and the direction of its location. As a result of solving the synthesis problem, we obtain a nonlinear feedback control function that provides a better estimate of the obstacle bypass according to a given criterion. An example for a mobile robot with a differential drive is considered.

Monitoring electric vehicles’ battery situation and indicating the state of health is still challenging. Temperature is one of the critical factors determining battery degradation over time. We have collected more than 2.3 million discharging samples via a custom Internet of Thing device for more than one year to build a machine-learning model that can forecast the battery pack’s average temperature in real-world driving. Our best Bi-LSTM model achieved the mean absolute error of 2.92 ∘ C on test data and 1.7 ∘ C on cross-validation for prediction of 10 min on the battery pack’s temperature. © 2023, ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Mandibular asymmetry is a prevalent craniofacial deformity impacting masticatory function, facial aesthetics, and temporomandibular joint health. Accurate detection and quantification of this asymmetry are essential for effective treatment. Current automated assessment methods rely on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT), which is complex, costly, and involves higher radiation exposure compared to panoramic radiography. This study aimed to detect anatomical landmarks on panoramic radiography and quantitatively assess mandibular asymmetry using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). By generating heatmaps to capture local visual features, expanding the image's receptive field through downsampling, and modeling the spatial correlation of anatomical landmarks, the study enhanced robustness. Results showed that condyle localization primarily depended on the joint fossa, achieving a median landmark error accuracy between 0.546 and 1.716 mm. Predicting mandibular asymmetry using the total ramus (***) yielded an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.802, sensitivity of 0.933, and specificity of 0.714. This pioneering research marks the first application of quantitative automatic detection of mandibular asymmetry using panoramic radiography, offering significant implications for the global scientific community. It establishes a foundation for advanced AI-driven diagnostic tools in dentistry, improving diagnosis and treatment outcomes for mandibular asymmetry. © 2024 IEEE.

In a heterogeneous wireless environment, there are many different radio access technologies (RATs), such as Wi-Fi and 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, which each have a different degree of coverage and processing power to meet various service requirements. A mobile user may have access to various access networks in such a situation. On the PC of each user, numerous programs with varied Quality of Service (QoS) requirements can operate simultaneously. It would be advantageous for a multi-interface terminal to use two or more interfaces simultaneously in order to improve performance. However, using multiple networks at once could use up more energy than just using one interface. Therefore, energy use must to be taken into account when analyzing the Flow/Interface Relationship (FIA). This paper presents a novel method for choosing the ideal FIA that achieves the best trade-off between all the characteristics taken into account, dubbed Smart Tabu Search (STS). STS considers user preferences, network circumstances, network expenses, application QoS specifications, and battery life of mobile devices. We use simulations and testbed experiments to validate our concept. Professionals are now able to diagnose and monitor patients remotely because to the growing use of healthcare monitoring devices. One of the most frequent occurrences that affects the reliability of information transmission in any network is congestion, which is defined as the unchecked increase in traffic relative to network capacity. With the use of a mesh network, wireless sensors, and some of the most significant models for vital signs, the article aims to provide a realistic simulation environment for a healthcare system. The simulator environment is a helpful tool for assessing the dependability and effectiveness of the healthcare system in a realistic setting. Sustainability is a key factor in the context of smart cities. In smart cities, promoting sustainable energy is one strategy for achieving sustainability and lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Different energy sources are needed to meet the need for affordable and dependable electrical energy, where the environmental impact typically outweighs the cost of generation. In order to increase sustainability in the electrical industry, smart cities are examined in this article. The methodological strategy for this involved conducting a systematic literature review utilizing the PRISMA procedure. 154 journal articles were examined in-depth for this review. Energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy and urban planning were the themes that the results were organized into. The results of the study showed that: (a) there is a global academic publication landscape for research on smart cities and energy sustainability;(b) publications are unbalanced when comparing the results of studies on the energy use intensity of different continents to those on the energy sustain ability of smart cities;and (c) there is a strong focus on technology-related issues related to energy sustainability, efficiency, and renewables topics in the literature, but much less attention is given to these issues. Urban and energy authorities are informed by the insights produced, and scholars are given ideas for future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

Adaptive Control of Euler-Lagrange Systems under Time-varying State Constraints without a Priori Bounded Uncertainty

In this article, a novel adaptive controller is designed for Euler-Lagrangian systems under predefined time-varying state constraints. The proposed controller could achieve this objective without a priori knowledge of system parameters and, crucially, of state-dependent uncertainties. The closed-loop stability is verified using the Lyapunov method, while the overall efficacy of the proposed scheme is verified using a simulated robotic arm compared to the state of the art.
