As one of the core mission of computer vision, object detection has been widely applied with the rapid development of computer technology, especially in the fields of face detection, behavior detection, auto driving, and intelligent monitoring. Aiming at the shortcomings of the traditional object detection, such as low detection accuracy, low efficiency and poor robustness, this article summarizes deep learning-based detectors of two kinds of modules: Anchor-Based and Anchor-Free. The performance of each detector is compared and analyzed in this paper as well. In addition, we summarize the development of object detection's key technologies from the aspect of improvement of Backbone, the optimization of NMS, imbalance of positive and negative samples' solution etc. Finally, the development trend of object detection is discussed from the prospect of lightweight detection model, weakly supervision detection and small object detection etc.

Neoantigen (nAg) vaccines can induce anti-tumor specific immunity, and tumor killing promotes further antigen diffusion, which is expected to improve prognosis. However, the mutation of cancer cells under the selective pressure of vaccines and the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment make the therapeutic effect unsatisfactory. Here, we develop a nanovaccine (nAg-MRDE/Mn) that can deliver nAg and induce in situ cancer vaccination to synergistically promote a personalized immune response, enhance antigen diffusion, and improve the microenvironment by modulating immunosuppressive cells and activating the innate immune response. Experiments show that nAgs are presented by dendritic cells and expressed by T cells, which cooperate with in situ vaccination to stimulate specific immunity. Cells involved in immunosuppression, such as M2 macrophages and regulatory T cells, are down-regulated, while M1 macrophages and natural killer cells are increased. In addition, the hydrogel loaded with chemokines and nAg-MRDE/Mn inhibits postoperative tumor recurrence, and the combination of nAg-MRDE/Mn and αPD-1 improves the therapeutic effect of αPD-1. This study validates the clinical potential of this strategy and provides ideas for improving neoantigen vaccines.

Human walking gait is much more natural looking and energy efficient compared with biped robots. This paper presents a bio-inspired approach to realizing more human-like biped robotic walking. For this purpose, a biped robot actuated coordinately by pneumatic artificial muscles and springs is developed, capable of exploiting passive compliance of the mechanical system in locomotion. And a control scheme for human-like walking is designed based on finite state machine. Experiments show that the biped robot can walk stably on the treadmill even with some small obstacles. The realized gait has the important features of human walking, including heel strike and toe off, stretched knees, and variation in the height of the body's center of mass, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Driver drowsiness electroencephalogram (EEG) signal monitoring can promptly alert drivers of their drowsiness in edge-end Consumer Electronics (CE), thereby reducing the probability of traffic accidents. Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have shown significant advancements in processing the non-stationary, time-varying, and non-Euclidean nature of EEG signals. However, the existing single-channel EEG adjacency graph construction process lacks interpretability, which hinders the ability of GCNs to effectively extract adjacency graph features, thus affecting the performance of drowsiness monitoring. To address this issue, we propose an edge-end Lightweight Dual Graph Convolutional Network (LDGCN). Specifically, we are the first to incorporate neurophysiological knowledge to design a Baseline Drowsiness Status Adjacency Graph (BDSAG), which characterizes driver drowsiness status. Additionally, to express more features within limited EEG data, we introduce the Augmented Graph-level Module (AGM). This module captures global and local information at the graph level, ensuring that BDSAG features remain intact while enhancing effective feature expression capability. To further enhance the application of CE, we apply Adaptive Pruning Optimization (APO) to the channels and neurons of LDGCN, which nearly halves the inference latency. Experiments on benchmark datasets demonstrate that LDGCN offers the best trade-off between monitoring performance and hardware resource utilization, outperforming existing state-of-the-art algorithms. © 1975-2011 IEEE.

The low-cost inertial navigation system/global navigation satellite system (INS/GNSS) integration has been widely used to vehicle navigation. However, the positioning performance often declines due to the weak satellite signals. This paper presents a new approach to improve the accuracy of the vehicle navigation. In contrast to the current methods, a new velocity constraint model is developed to aid the estimation of the navigation errors. The altitude accuracy of GNSS is challenged in comparison with its position in the horizonal plane. Thus, an auxiliary low-cost barometer is used to obtain the height as well. The experimental results demonstrate the benefit of the proposed multi-constraints aiding algorithm.

Pneumatic system has gained popularity in robotics and industrial automation technology especially in developing a cost-effective and highspeed robot/machine with low maintenance. However, control in such systems is very challenging especially that involved compliant and interaction behavior between the system and unknown environment. Therefore, this study has taken initiative to overcome the nonlinearity and uncertainties of pneumatic actuator in interaction of motion by proposed an accurate impedance control with prescribe performance function. The finite-time in prescribe performance is formulated to improve the force tracking between the desired impedance and unknown environment. The comparison study between proposed impedance control with finite-time prescribe performance force tracking shows almost zero steady-state-error, no oscillation at the first contact with environment, stable pressure in chamber and low energy consumption in terms of control input on valve.

Cable-less micro-robots have exhibit great capabilities for remote applications in small and constrained environments, especially in biotechnology and healthcare. This paper presents a swimmer propelled by its undulatory deformation using magnetoelastic composite material. The robot can move freely on water surface driven through a function of magnetic field, such as forward, backward and steering with different velocity. The magnetic field is generated by 3D Helmholtz coils, and the locomotion of the micro swimming robot is controlled by different applied magnetic field. To understand the characteristics of the swimmer, the force balance equation is established, and the morphologies of swimmer with different magnetic field are analyzed and described through finite element analysis method. Furthermore, we discuss and analyze relationship between the parameters of magnetic field and the speed of the swimmer. The experimental results verified the speed model of the swimming robot, which is influenced by the frequency and strength of magnetic field. © 2019 IEEE.

The actuation and control of mini-scale swimming robots have exhibit promising potential in limited and constrained environments, such as biomedical, micro-assembly and microfluidic applications. However, closed-loop control is still a challenging for the precision and repeatability in those applications. In this paper, a new type of soft-micro swimming robot based on magnetoelastic composite material is designed, and the swimmer can move freely on the water surface controlled by a rotating magnetic field with visual servoing. The visual feedback control strategy is proposed based on Mean Shift Algorithm and Fast Template Matching. The algorithm includes three parts: prediction, template matching, target positioning and template updating. To understand the characteristics of the swimmer, the relationship between swimming speed and magnetic field strength and frequency is verified by the algorithm in experiments. Furthermore, the proposed path following method with visual servoing applied in this control system. The experimental results show that the algorithm runs fast, has high accuracy and good real-time performance, and can provide great potential in mini-scale robot applications. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, a new tool path generation method is proposed for the 3D (three-dimensional) vibration-assisted 6-DOF (six degree of freedom) machine tool machining system. The tool feed path is generated by the tangent point method and the coordinate transformation theory. It is worth noting that this method needle is only used when the tool and workpiece surface topography can be mathematically described. Finally, a numeric simulation method is used to simulate the tool path which is required when machining workpiece surfaces with different topography tools. The results show that the tool path generation method is widely applicable to tools and workpieces of various shapes, and it is of great significance to reveal the influences of different tool shapes on the tool path. © 2019 IEEE.

Distributed Nonconvex Optimization: Gradient-free Iterations and ϵ-Globally Optimal Solution

Distributed optimization utilizes local computation and communication to realize a global aim of optimizing the sum of local objective functions. This article addresses a class of constrained distributed nonconvex optimization problems involving univariate objectives, aiming to achieve global optimization without requiring local evaluations of gradients at every iteration. We propose a novel algorithm named CPCA, exploiting the notion of combining Chebyshev polynomial approximation, average consensus, and polynomial optimization. The proposed algorithm is i) able to obtain ϵ-globally optimal solutions for any arbitrarily small given accuracy ϵ, ii) efficient in both zeroth-order queries (i.e., evaluations of function values) and inter-agent communication, and iii) distributed terminable when the specified precision requirement is met. The key insight is to use polynomial approximations to substitute for general local objectives, distribute these approximations via average consensus, and solve an easier approximate version of the original problem. Due to the nice analytic properties of polynomials, this approximation not only facilitates efficient global optimization, but also allows the design of gradient-free iterations to reduce cumulative costs of queries and achieve geometric convergence for solving nonconvex problems.
