Use cases have been used to describe functional requirements of information systems in a natural language. In the design phase, use cases can be used to construct design model and then the model can be checked by some static analysis techniques. Since errors could be created while the design is refined and bugs could be planted in the implementation, after going through the software developing process, it is still question if the resulting system satisfies the original requirements. In this paper, we propose a new technique to rebuild use cases for Web applications, thus we can compare the generated use cases with the designed use cases. For a Web application, due to its special navigation character, we can get rich information in the log file while the user navigates the Web. From the log file, we extract raw data that contains basic structures of the use case. After applying natural language processing technique, we determine the boundary of raw data, reduce the data redundancy, and adjust the sentence, finally, we rebuild the use cases. Standford Parser has been employed to perform the sentence analysis for us. A prototype has been developed to support our technique.

Based on Continuous Petri Net, we build differential equation model for concurrent programs. The program behavior can be analyzed from the curves of the solutions of the differential equations. We show that a program state can be measured with a number between O and I, called state measure, indicating how much the state can be reached while the program is in execution. Thus, instead of displaying one state at one time, a program can display all states at one time with state measure attached to each state. This information can help us to estimate where and how much the resources have been used. The advantage of our method is that we can avoid state explosion problem while doing program analysis. Our equations can be solved by Matlab and simulated with a tool: Snoopy. © 2008 IEEE.

This paper presents a novel approach to clustering using a simple accuracy-based Learning Classifier System with a modification to the original YCS fitness function has been found to improve the identification of less-separated data sets. Our approach achieves this by exploiting the evolutionary computing and reinforcement learning techniques inherent to such systems. The purpose of the work is to develop an approach to learning rules which accurately describe clusters without prior assumptions as to their number within a given dataset. Favourable comparisons to the commonly used k-means algorithm are demonstrated on a number of datasets.

This article gives a capsule view of research on rough set theory and applications ongoing at universities and laboratories in China. Included in this capsule view of rough set research is a brief description of the following things: Chinese research groups on rough set with their URLs for web pages, names of principal researchers (supervisors), numbers of graduate students, and topics being investigated. Statistical summaries showing the growth in the research on rough set theory and application in China are included. In addition, an introduction summarizing the research interests of Chinese researchers is included in this article. Kernel nonparametric feature extraction (KNWFE) is a power tool for hyperspectral image classification in feature space. However, the performances of KNWFE largely depend on the choices of kernels. In this paper, a method is proposed for optimizing kernel function using the weighted means of KNWFE and the Fisher scalar with respect to KNWFE. The idea is to obtain a feature space with the largest nonparametric separability of training samples between classes by employing the parameters of a conformal transformation of a basic kernel. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a remarkable improvement of KNWFE for real data for two-classe problem. © 2007 IEEE.

This paper analyzes the security of a new multistage encryption system (MES) recently proposed in ISCAS'2004. It is found that MES is insecure against a differential chosen-plaintext/ciphertext attack. Experiments are given to support the proposed attack. It is also pointed out that the security of MES against brute-force attacks is not sufficiently high.
