CSPP1 stabilizes microtubules by capping both plus and minus ends

Although the dynamic instability of microtubules(MTs)is fundamental to many cellular functions,quiescent MTs with unattached free distal ends are commonly present and play important roles in various events to power cellular ***,how these free MT tips are stabilized remains poorly ***,we report that centrosome and spindle pole protein 1(CSPP1)caps and stabilizes both plus and minus ends of static ***-time imaging of laser-ablated MTs in live cells showed deposition of CSPP1 at the newly generated MT ends,whose dynamic instability was concomitantly ***,MT ends in CSPP1-overexpressing cells were hyper-stabilized,while those in CSPP1-depleted cells were much more *** CSPP1-elicited stabilization of MTs was demonstrated to be achieved by suppressing intrinsic MT catastrophe and restricting ***,CSPP1-bound MTs were resistant to mitotic centromere-associated kinesin-mediated *** findings delineate a previously uncharacterized CSPP1 activity that integrates MT end capping to orchestrate quiescent MTs.

Renormalization group improvement for thermally resummed effective potential

We propose a novel method for renormalization group improvement of thermally resummed effective potential. In our method, β-functions are temperature dependent as a consequence of the divergence structure in resummed perturbation theory. In contrast to the ordinary MS¯ scheme, the renormalization group invariance of the resummed finite-temperature effective potential holds order by order, which significantly mitigates a notorious renormalization scale dependence of phase transition quantities such as a critical temperature even at the one-loop order. We also devise a tractable method that enables one to incorporate temperature-dependent higher-order corrections by fully exploiting the renormalization group invariance.

Porous silica particles have shown great potential application as reinforcing fillers in the field of dentistry due to their ability to construct the micromechanical interlocking effect at filler-matrix ***,how to accurately regulate the pore structure,especially the pore size,to increase the degree of the micromechanical interlocking and the performance of materials remains a ***,we have proposed a facile self-assembly process to synthesize dendritic porous silica with tunable pore sizes(DPS-x)by adjusting the chain-length of the alcohols in the *** mechanism of nucleation-growth is further put *** results indicate that the pore size of DPS-x indeed affects the mechanical property of composites,where the DPSpen particles with intermediate pore size are chosen as the optimal reinforcing *** bimodal and multimodal filler formulations are further established to address the loading limitation of unimodal DPS-pen(46 wt.%).In virtue of the closepacked structure of identical spheres,the particle sizes of secondary silica embedded into the maximally loaded bimodal D3S7 composite(DPS-pen:Si430=30:70,w/w)are theoretically calculated without *** all formulations,the developed multimodal D3S7+Si178+Si90 filler exhibits superior mechanical properties,the lowest shrinkage,and high polymerization conversion for dental composites,along with satisfied waster sorption and solubility,and good biocompatibility in vitro and in vivo,which are comparable to commercial composite Z350 XT(3M,USA).These DPS-x particles and their multimodal fillers can also be applied to other polymer-based biomaterials.

In this Letter,we propose a pixel-excitation-gating technology for high-sensitivity nonlinear imaging excited by femtosecond pulses at a GHz repetition rate,which can enhance the signal quality of nonlinear *** validate this technology,we apply it to a customized two-photon excitation(TPE)fluorescence microscope that uses a GHz femtosecond pulse fiber laser as the excitation *** with the excitation using a continuous GHz pulse train,up to~4-fold enhancement of fluorescence signal can be obtained when the excitation pulse train is gated with a 25%duty cycle of the pixel dwell time,under constant average *** is anticipated that pixel-level-excitation gating can be an add-on solution for fluorescence signal enhancement in nonlinear imaging systems that are excited by GHz femtosecond ***,the pixel-level excitation control would allow more flexible excitation.

We have investigated the internal structure of the open-and hidden-charmed(DD^(*)/DD^(*))molecules in the unified *** first fit the experimental lineshape of the Tt state and extract the DD^(*)interaction,from which the T is assumed to arise *** we obtain the DD^(*)interaction by charge *** results show that the DD*interaction is attractive but insufficient to form X(3872)as a bound ***,its formation requires the crucial involvement of the coupled channel effect between the DD^(*)and cc components,although the cc accounts for approximately 1%*** X(3872),we have obtained a higher-energy state around 3957.9 MeV with a width of 16.7 MeV,which may be a potential candidate for the X(3940).In J^(PC)=1^(+-)sector,we have found two states related to the iso-scalar X(3872)and h_(c)(2P),*** combined study provides valuable insights into the nature of these DD^(+)/DD^(+)exotic states.

Fe-based amorphous coating prepared using high-velocity oxygen fuel and its corrosion behavior in static lead-bismuth eutectic alloy

The Fe_(949.7)Cr_(18)Mn_(1.9)Mo_(7.4)W_(1.6)B_(15.2)C_(3.8)Si_(2) amorphous coating was deposited on T91 steel substrate by using the high-velocity oxygen fuel(HVOF)spray technique to enhance the corrosion resistance of T91 stainless steel in liquid lead-bismuth eutectic(LBE).The corrosion behavior of the T91 steel and coating exposed to oxygen-saturated LBE at 400℃ for 500 h was *** showed that the T91 substrate was severely corroded and covered by a homogeneously distributed dual-layer oxide on the interface contacted to LBE,consisting of an outer magnetite layer and an inner Fe-Cr spinel ***,the amorphous coating with a high glass transition temperature(Tg=550℃)and crystallization temperature(T_(x)=600℃)exhibited dramatically enhanced thermal stability and corrosion *** visible LBE penetration was observed,although small amounts of Fe_(3)O_(4),Cr_(2)O_(3),and PbO were found on the coating *** addition,the amorphicity and interface bonding of the coating layer remained unchanged after the LBE *** Fe-based amorphous coating can act as a stable barrier layer in liquid LBE and have great application potential for long-term service in LBE-cooled fast reactors.

Improve Harris Hawkes optimizer algorithm via Laplace crossover

Nowadays, the speed of solving optimization problems by increasing various issues and the number of variables is critical. The Harris Hawk optimization method is a brand-new, intelligent system that resolves optimization issues by mathematically simulating the natural behavior of hawks. In this study, the Harris Hawks optimization method and the Laplace crossover operator are merged, and a new enhanced Harris Hawks algorithm (LX-HHO) based on the Laplace optimization algorithm is suggested. The purpose of improving this algorithm is to increase the convergence speed while maintaining good accuracy in achieving the optimal solution. The results of the proposed method on the test functions demonstrate that the algorithm has achieved faster convergence than the original version of the Harris Hawks algorithm and other meta-heuristic algorithms. This is due to the algorithm's accuracy in obtaining the best answer in these functions and to a reduction in the evaluation of the optimization function. Also, comparing and evaluating the proposed algorithm with other algorithms by Friedman and MAE test shows the superiority of the LX-HHO algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The article describes a new method for image detection using machine learning, based on the development of sophisticated security systems tailored for examining digital media to identify and scrutinize altered images. Using deep learning models and advanced image processing techniques, the authors demonstrate high accuracy and efficiency i n detecting face modifications a nd malicious content within digital images. The authors illustrate the proposed technique by evaluating its performance on a unique dataset of unaltered and modified images. The method allows for improving detection accuracy by 93.99% and demonstrates robustness in real-time applications. The new method's effectiveness is confirmed by calculating precision and recall metrics. New research results develop advanced security solutions that can be used to enhance digital forensics, content authentication, and cybersecurity applications. Novelty and scientific contributions lie in integrating deep learning for real-time media analysis and enhancing data authenticity and integrity. © 2024 IEEE.
