Characterization of premixed swirling methane/air diffusion flame through filtered Rayleigh scattering

Characteristics of a premixed, swirl methane/air diffusion flame at atmospheric pressure are measured by filtered Rayleigh scattering(FRS). Three operating conditions are investigated with the equivalence ratios of the methane/air flame covering a range of 0.67–0.83. Under each condition, single-shot and averaged FRS images over a region measured 39.3×65.6 mm^(2) at seven cross sections of the flame are collected to demonstrate the flame behavior. A gradient calculation algorithm is applied to identify reaction zone locations and structures in the instantaneous FRS *** analysis for the mean FRS measurements is performed by means of joint probability density functions. The experimental results indicate that thermochemical state of the swirl flame is strongly influenced by equivalence ratio, leading to varieties of flame structures and temperature distributions. The gradient of the instantaneous FRS images clearly illustrates the characteristics of the reaction zone. The results also demonstrate that FRS can provide detailed insights into the behavior of turbulent flames.

Topologically associating domain(TAD)reorganization commonly occurs in the cell nucleus and contributes to gene activation and inhibition through the separation or fusion of adjacent ***,functional genes impacted by TAD alteration and the underlying mechanism of TAD reorganization regulating gene transcription remain to be fully ***,we first developed a novel approach termed Inter3D to specifically identify genes regulated by TAD *** study revealed that the segregation of TADs led to the disruption of intrachromosomal looping at the myosin light chain 12B(MYL12B)locus,via the meticulous reorganization of TADs mediating epigenomic landscapes within tumor cells,thereby exhibiting a significant correlation with the down-regulation of its transcriptional ***,the fusion of TADs facilitated intrachromosomal interactions,suggesting a potential association with the activation of cytochrome P450 family 27 subfamily B member 1(CYP27B1).Our study provides comprehensive insight into the capture of TAD rearrangement-mediated gene loci and moves toward understanding the functional role of TAD reorganization in gene *** Inter3D pipeline developed in this study is freely available at https://***/bm2-lab/inter3D and https://***/biocode/tool/BT7399.

Combining halide perovskite quantum dots (QDs) and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) material is challenging when the QDs’ size is larger than the MOFs’ nanopores. Here, we adopted a simple defect engineering approach to increase the size of zeolitic imidazolate framework 90 (ZIF-90)’s pores size to better load CH3NH3PbBr3 perovskite QDs. This defect structure effect can be easily achieved by adjusting the metal-to-ligand ratio throughout the ZIF-90 synthesis process. The QDs are then grown in the defective structure, resulting in a hybrid ZIF-90-perovskite (ZP) composite. The QDs in ZP composites occupied the gap of 10-18 nm defective ZIF-90 crystal and interestingly isolated the QDs with high stability in aqueous solution. We also investigated the relationship between defect engineering and fluorescence sensing, finding that the aqueous Cu2+ ion concentration was directly correlated to defective ZIF-90 and ZP composites. We also found that the role of the O-Cu coordination bonds and CH3NHCu+ species formation in the materials when they reacted with Cu2+ was responsible for this relationship. Finally, this strategy was successful in developing Cu2+ ion fluorescence sensing in water with better selectivity and sensitivity. © 2024 The Authors. Published by American Chemical Society.

Rapid interest in identifying specific biomarkers has been sparked by the development of wearable electrochemical sensors for physiological and biological monitoring via noninvasive measurement. During anaerobic metabolic circumstances, monitoring the lactate content become critical for noninvasive diagnostic of hypoxia. To improve the sensitivity of wearable sweat biosensors for detecting lactate concentrations, in this study, metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived NiCo-based layered double hydroxides (m-NiCo LDHs) with N-doped graphene quantum dots (NGQDs) decoration are designed. According to the X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) analysis, the incorporation of NGQDs will alter the local electronic structure of transition metals in m-NiCo LDHs, thereby reducing the charge transfer resistance and accelerating the electron transfer kinetics during electrochemical reactions of lactate detection. After understanding the role of NGQDs in the matrix of m-NiCo LDHs, as-designed NGQD/m-NiCo LDH-based electrochemical biosensors for lactate detection displayed superior sensitivity of 62.63 ± 1.50 μA mM-1 cm-2 under an applied potential of 0.60 V (vs Ag/AgCl/3 M KCl) with the lactate concentration range of 0 to 15 mM in alkaline condition, compared to pristine NiCo LDH (16.77 ± 1.70 μA mM-1 cm-2)- and m-NiCo LDH (45.45 ± 4.39 μA mM-1 cm-2)-based ones. This research provides a potential electrocatalyst of GQD-modified MOF-derived LDHs for using enzyme-free electrochemical lactate sensors with reliable and stable performance in order to implement noninvasive human perspiration monitoring on wearable bioelectronics. © 2024 The Authors. When an aircraft equipped with infrared guidance systems flies at high Mach numbers through the atmosphere, the infrared window interacts strongly with the incoming flow, resulting in aerodynamic thermal radiation effects. This paper models the thermal radiation transmission for flat-panel side-window infrared windows, captures dynamic thermal noise images under ballistic conditions, and introduces spectral filtering techniques to mitigate intense radiation bands in sapphire windows, addressing varying radiation intensities across different bands. Simulation results indicate that, within this trajectory, the window temperature peaks at approximately 470K at the 9th second, with the highest image irradiance of 0.69W/m2 in the 3-5μm band, and a non-uniformity of 0.0293 in the thermal noise image. After spectral filtering to suppress the 4.6-5μm band, the maximum image irradiance drops to 0.202W/m2, a reduction of 70.7%, with the non-uniformity decreasing to 0.0215, a reduction of 26.6%. The thermal radiation transfer calculation model and the spectral filtering techniques outlined in this paper offer valuable insights for mitigating aerodynamic thermal impacts and enhancing the performance of infrared detection systems by suppressing thermal radiation. © 2024 SPIE.

GO/HTPB composite liner for anti-migration of small molecules

Hydroxyl-terminated polybutadiene/toluene diisocyanate(HTPB/TDI)system is widely used in composite solid *** migrations of plasticizers and water molecules from solid propellants and surrounding environment to the inhibitor have always been the important *** study focuses on the preparation,characterization and anti-migration behavior of graphene oxide(GO)/HTPB nanocomposite *** GO/HTPB(GH)composite liners affect the migration of small molecules through a tighter cross-linked structure and weakening function of small molecule *** anti-migration performance of the liner at different temperatures was analyzed,and the influence of the added amount of GO on the anti-migration performance and adhesion performance was also systematically *** overall performance of the liner is optimized when the amount of GO filler is 0.3 wt%.After adding 0.3 wt%GO,the concentration of dioctyl sebacate(DOS)migrated into the liner is decreased by 23.28%,and the concentration of water molecules is decreased by 51.89%,indicating that the introduction of GO can significantly improve the anti-migration performance of the *** addition,the bond strength is greatly increased from 0.25 MPa to 0.95 MPa,which meets the application requirements of the current propellant *** research provides an important way for the preparation of structure-function synergistic anti-migration composite liners.

Lack of interferon regulatory factor 3 leads to anxiety/depression-like behaviors through disrupting the balance of neuronal excitation and inhibition in mice

Disrupting the balance of neuronal excitation and inhibition (E/I) is an important pathogenic mechanism of anxiety and depression. Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) plays a key role in the innate immune response, and activation of IRF3 triggers the expression of type I interferons and downstream interferon-stimulated genes, which are associated with anxiety and depression. However, whether IRF3 participates in the pathogenesis of anxiety/depression by regulating E/I balance remains poorly understood. Here, we reported that global knockout (KO) of IRF3 (IRF3^(−/−)) significantly increased anxiety/depression-like behaviors, but did not affect normal spatial learning and memory. Compared with wild type (WT) control mice, the E/I balance was disrupted, as reflected by enhanced glutamatergic transmission and decreased GABAergic transmission in the neurons of hippocampal CA1 and medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) in IRF3-KO mice. Importantly, genetic rescue of IRF3 expression by adeno-associated virus (AAV) was sufficient to alleviate anxiety/depression-like behaviors and restore the neuronal E/I balance in IRF3-KO mice. Taken together, our results indicate that IRF3 is critical in maintaining neuronal E/I balance, thereby playing an essential role in ensuring emotional stability.

This article investigates the characteristics of shock wave overpressure generated by multi-layer composite charge under different detonation *** dimensional analysis and the explosion mechanism of the charge,a peak overpressure prediction model for the composite charge under singlepoint detonation and simultaneous detonation was *** effects of the charge structure and initiation method on the overpressure field characteristics were investigated in AUTODYN *** accuracy of the prediction model and the reliability of the numerical simulation method were subsequently verified in a series of static explosion *** results reveal that the mass of the inner charge was the key factor determining the peak overpressure of the composite charge under single-point *** peak overpressure in the radial direction improved apparently with an increase in the aspect ratio of the *** overpressure curves in the axial direction exhibited a multi-peak phenomenon,and the secondary peak overpressure even exceeded the primary peak at distances of 30D and 40D(where D is the charge diameter).The difference in peak overpressure among azimuth angles of 0-90°gradually decreased with an increase in the propagation distance of the shock *** coupled effect of the detonation energy of the inner and outer charge under simultaneous detonation improved the overpressure in both radial and axial *** difference in peak overpressure obtained from model prediction and experimental measurements was less than 16.4%.

Numerical Simulation on Production Trials by Using Depressurization for Typical Marine Hydrate Reservoirs:Well Type and Formation Dip

Natural gas hydrate has huge reserves and is widely distributed in marine *** commercial development is of great significance for alleviating the contradiction between energy supply and *** an efficient research method,numerical simulation can provide valuable insights for the design and optimization of hydrate ***,most of the current production models simplify the reservoir as a two-dimensional(2D)horizontal layered model,often ignoring the impact of formation dip *** improve the accuracy of production prediction and provide theoretical support for the optimization of production well design,two three-dimensional(3D)geological models with different dip angles based on the geological data from two typical sites are *** vertical well,horizontal well and multilateral wells are deployed in these reservoirs with different permeabilities to perform production trial,and the sensitivity analysis of dip angles is also carried *** short-term production behaviors in high and low permeability reservoirs with different dip angles are *** simulation results show that 1)the gas and water production behaviors for different well types in the two typical reservoirs show obviously different variation laws when the short-term depressurization is conducted in the inclined formation;2)the inclined formation will reduce the gas production and increase the water extraction,and the phenomena becomes pronounced as the dip angle increases,particularly in the low-permeability reservoirs;3)and the impact of formation dip on hydrate recovery does not change significantly with the variation of well type.
