This paper presents a novel neural network architecture for the purpose of pervasive visualisation of a 3D human upper limb musculoskeletal system model. Bringing simulation capabilities to resource-poor systems like mobile devices is of growing interest across many research fields, to widen applicability of methods and results. Until recently, this goal was thought to be out of reach for realistic continuum-mechanical simulations of musculoskeletal systems, due to prohibitive computational cost. Within this work we use a sparse grid surrogate to capture the surface deformation of the m. biceps brachii in order to train a deep learning model, used for real-time visualisation of the same muscle. Both these surrogate models take 5 muscle activation levels as input and output Cartesian coordinate vectors for each mesh node on the muscle’s surface. Thus, the neural network architecture features a significantly lower input than output dimension. 5 muscle activation levels were sufficient to achieve an average error of 0.97 ± 0.16 mm, or 0.57 ± 0.10 % for the 2809 mesh node positions of the biceps. The model achieved evaluation times of 9.88 ms per predicted deformation state on CPU only and 3.48 ms with GPU-support, leading to theoretical frame rates of 101 fps and 287 fps respectively. In this paper, we present a framework of view synthesis, including range guided depth refinement and uncertainty-aware aggregation based novel view synthesis. We first propose a novel depth refinement method to improve the quality and robustness of the depth map reconstruction. To that end, we use a range prior to constrain the estimated depth, which helps us to get more accurate depth information. Then we propose an uncertainty-aware aggregation method for novel view synthesis. We compute the uncertainty of the estimated depth for each pixel, and reduce the influence of pixels whose uncertainty are large when synthesizing novel views. This step helps to reduce some artifacts such as ghost and blur. We validate the performance of our algorithm experimentally, and we show that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance.

The development and growth of the shared economy in the smart cities are significantly influenced by technology. An online community-based ecosystem that enables peer-to-peer trade between buyers and sellers as well as share- and rental-based access to goods and services. Lack of trust and transparency is the main problem in the shared economy system. A blockchain-enabled architecture is created for the shared economy ecosystem to address this problem. In this study, product registration and product services policies are implemented using smart contracts. This technology aids in distinguishing between genuine and counterfeit goods while also giving consumers access to the product’s metadata via QR codes. An experimental testbed that makes use of the polygon network is taken into consideration in order to validate the suggested framework.

We present FliudPlaying, a novel dynamic level-based spatially adaptive simulation method that can handle highly dynamic fluid efficiently. To capture the subtle detail of the fluid surface, the high-resolution simulation is performed not only at the free surface but also at those regions with high vorticity levels and velocity difference levels. To minimize the density error, an online optimization scheme is used when increasing the resolution by particle splitting. We also proposed a neighbor-based splash enhancement to compensate for the loss of dynamic details. Compared with the high-resolution simulation baseline, our method can achieve over 3× speedups while consuming only less than 10% computational resources. Furthermore, our method can make up for the loss of high-frequency details caused by the spatial adaptation, and provide more realistic dynamics in particle-based fluid simulation.

Wearable body sensors have recently gained popularity because they monitor user behaviors and vital indicators. These sensors are designed to monitor various physiological factors, such as motion, temperature, and heart rate, among others. Making sense of the data gathered by these sensors requires separating the dependent and independent features. The dependent parameters are those that body-worn sensors can read in this scenario. Examples of such elements include blood oxygen levels, heart rate, temperature, mobility, and airflow. These sensors capture data about a person's activity and health. The independent parameters in wearable body sensors are related to the dependent parameters, whereas the dependent parameters are those that the sensors can measure directly. Such characteristics include age, sex, weight, and environmental influences. For example, humidity and airflow might impair a temperature sensor's accuracy. The user's age or level of physical fitness may also influence the accuracy of a heart rate monitor. Activity monitors are used in this study to capture the actions of various people. Static and dynamic properties are derived from the activity monitor recording. The performance evaluations of the eight distinct machine-learning models that were created using the retrieved features are discussed in this paper. The Grid Search method is used to enhance the performance of the XGB model.

The healthcare system has become more reliant on the data collection capabilities of fast evolving IoT devices. Patient healthcare records (PHR) now contain additional information as a result. However, securing identities and guaranteeing data security have emerged as critical challenges in the healthcare system. When it comes to regulating PHR, many of the centralized and decentralized methods now in use struggle difficulties such as single point of failure, high transaction fees, slow throughput, and excessive latency. To address these concerns, a distributed ledger technology (DLT)-based framework named IOTA rather than a blockchain-based platform such as Ethereum or Polygon is proposed. The proposed framework considered the example of a hospital with several patients on the same and various floors. Furthermore, the suggested approach employs a real-time experimental setup for calculating the time and power consumption of the devices.
