This paper outlines the design and implementation of a test vector generation module for the lightweight block ciphers PRESENT, CLEFIA, and the SPONGENT hash function for use in cryptographic module validation. These algorithms are part of the ISO/IEC 29192-2: 2012 standard and ISO/IEC 29192-5: 2016, respectively. The test vector generation module generates test vectors for being fed to the IUT (Implementation Under Test) for validating the algorithms as per the validation methods described in the ISO/IEC 18367:2016(E) standard for block ciphers and hash functions that can operate in different modes of operation. The implementation of test vector generation modules for these algorithms is done in the C programming language, which is described in this paper. These generated vectors can be used as reference test vectors in CMVT (Crypto Module Validation Testing) labs for validating the cryptographic modules that implement these cryptographic algorithms.

Hyperledger Fabric is becoming the most popular blockchain framework used by enterprises and medium-sized companies. Blockchain technology is used for many different domains like finance, voting service, land record etc. Blockchain innovation is a self-executing program called Smart Contract. Hyperledger fabric uses programming languages like ***, Java, and GO to implement smart contracts also called chaincode. Smart contracts are programmed to moderate critical transactions between individuals or organizations because terms and conditions embedded in the contract will be executed when certain conditions are met. So smart contract needs to be analyzed before deployment to ensure zero vulnerabilities and flaws on the blockchain application, their execution is critical against attacks which aim at stealing assets. Hence security auditing is an essential part of smart contract development. This paper proposes a static code analysis tool for smart contracts named as UBF-ChaincodeScan which helps to identify security risks in the smart contract code written in *** and GO language.

Multiplications-Accumulations (MACs) are the significant computations in deep learning networks that must be hardware efficient and result in higher inference accuracy for the given set of network layers. Typically, the processing engines (PEs) which comprise the MAC units are the most resource-intensive element in a Deep Neural Network (DNN) accelerator. This paper proposes efficient PEs and presents an architectural design, accuracy, and resources cost analysis for hardware-based parameterized Posit Quire Processing Engine (PQPE) supporting P(8,0), P(16,1), P(32,2), and P(64,3). PQPE performs the vector computations (dot products) on Posit numbers with a wide quire accumulator and has been enabled with instructions, commands, and responses. PQPE has been modelled in Python to evaluate the inference accuracy for various DNN kernels and datasets. LeNet-5, AlexNet, custom 5 layers and 4 layers CNN models have been adopted and evaluated for inference accuracy with MNIST, CIFAR-10, and Alphabet recognition datasets. The PQPE has been used for matrix computations in convolutions. P(16,1) without quire provides same accuracy as float32 with less hardware resources. P(16,1) with quire brings same accuracy level as without quire and hence quire is not advantageous for larger posit data widths. Posit (8,0) with / without quire results insignificant loss of 0.8% / 3.28% (LeNet + MNIST) to 3.8% / 10.1% (AlexNet + CIFAR-10) accuracy as compared to P(16,1)/float32. Further, PQPE was modelled using Verilog HDL, synthesized targeting Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA using Xilinx-Vivado. PQPE (8,0) achieved a $f_{max}$ of 372 MHz and utilized 77.6% fewer hardware resources as compared to float32 at the cost of insignificant accuracy loss for CIFAR-10 which is 0.8% on LeNet and 3.8% on AlexNet. PQPE (16,1) has used 6.5% less resources and achieved equivalent accuracy as compared to float32.

Bi-directional power flow capability and galvanic isolation are considered as core requirements of a Bi-directional Energy Harvester Interface (BEHI) in which the isolated dc-dc converter is the prime element. The BEHI along with energy storage is gaining popularity in many applications such as solid state transformers, hybrid micro grids, distributed generation, electric vehicles, fuel cell and so on. This paper presents operational principles and simulation/implementation of an isolated BEHI using Double Active Bridge (DAB) configuration with different phase shift control strategies; Single Phase Shift (SPS), Extended phase shift(EPS), Double Phase Shift(DPS).

Hyperledger Fabric (HLF) is a blockchain platform that supports immediate finality of transactions and can be used in various application domains such as Supply chain, Health etc. Researchers have reported significant improvement in throughput, in HLF v1.0, based on experiments carried out with certain optimizations when Kafka is used as a consensus mechanism. In our paper, we supplement the above study with a few more guidelines that improve the throughput. The guidelines have been derived on top of HLF platform v2.2.3 with Raft and SmartBFT consensus mechanisms and with different Tx sizes. Our experimental study has shown 3 to 5 times improvement when compared to default configuration settings of HLF v2.2.3 in the case of Raft.

This paper addresses a coordinated direct and relay transmission (CDRT) network with a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) over Rayleigh fading channels. A Coordinated Direct and Relay Transmission network consists of a base station (BS), two downlink users (one near user and one far user or cell edge user), and a relay. The near user will receive its intended message directly from the BS, whereas the far user or cell edge user will access and be supported by a full-duplex (FD) decode and forward (DF) relay to receive its message. Since the paper considers a NOMA network, the near user will be allocated with a lower power and the far user will be allocated with a higher power to ensure user fairness. The first section of this study discusses the system model, signal models and associated signal-To-interference plus noise ratios (SINRs). The joint optimisation problem for maximising the minimum sum rate is defined in the second half. Mathematical analysis is used to generate the joint power allocation factor and the results of both optimal and non-optimal conditions are plotted using Monte-Carlo simulations. Through various analyses, this paper establishes that using optimal power allocation factors can significantly improve the system's performance. © 2023 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network in which physical things that have Internet access can communicate and share data with other connected objects. IoT is currently gaining popularity due to the large range of applications that it allows. When such applications connect to the Internet, they attempt to send data to other devices across the network. Because certain IoT applications transmit crucial data over the Internet, the data must be protected. However, these IoT devices are limited in terms of power, computation and memory, as well as communication capabilities. IoT devices are being used as a gateway into the larger IoT network. As a result, the security of these devices has become critical in order to protect them from numerous security risks and attacks. There are multiple solutions to mitigate the issue but Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is a prominent one that provides hardware based security but designed primarily for large compute platforms (e.g., desktops, laptops, servers, etc.). Because of the limitations of IoT devices, the traditional method is unsuitable for IoT network & devices and a lightweight and optimized mechanism will be required. Firmware-based Lightweight Trusted Platform Module (FLTPM) is our suggested approach for augmenting hardware security to resource-constrained devices, which includes lightweight cryptography algorithms & services related to providing hardware security, and trusted/safe boot mechanisms. The results showed that the proposed solution was optimized, unique, and lightweight for resource constrained IoT devices, and that it functioned well in appropriate environment conditions.

The recent technological developments in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is offering multiple tools and techniques for upholding the large set of data pertaining to the pollutants availability in the air, which could further be utilized for devising the mechanism for empowering the pervasive healthcare for reducing the burden of diseases in the larger set of population. Cloud computing, Internet of Medical Things (IoEMT), and wireless networks have revitalized the new era and methodologies which are effectively utilized for handling the challenges of healthcare in terms of Quality of Healthcare Service (QoHS). It is also helpful in improving the information-sharing mechanism for preventive healthcare, integration and management of Decision Support Systems. The aim of this research is to define the framework for collating the real-time data of air quality parameters and analyzing the same for improving preventive health analytics as a cloud computing service. This platform of technology further derives the healthy-mapping or re-routing assisted prevention as an early aspect of cure from the airborne diseases. The substantial increase in the diseases caused by the air pollutants in the air and with increasing population the vehicles density on road has also increases, giving us the reason for proposing the mechanism to address the concern with technological capabilities. Blood pressure (BP) is a primary vital sign that provides critical insights into an individual’s overall health and potential underlying conditions. Abnormal BP levels, whether elevated (hypertension) or lowered (hypotension), can indicate serious cardiovascular issues, metabolic disorders, or other systemic problems. Monitoring BP is thus essential for early detection and management of these conditions. Traditional contact-based BP measurement techniques like arm cuffs and arterial lines are accurate but obtrusive, limiting mobility and risking dermatological issues from prolonged skin contact. While smartwatches enable more convenient tracking, they still require direct skin contact which can be cumbersome and cause irritation over extended wear. There is a need for entirely non-contact, unobtrusive BP monitoring solutions to avoid constraints of contact-requiring methods. This research investigates the potential of using remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), independent component analysis (ICA), pulse transit time (PTT), and regression techniques to estimate BP values from facial video recordings. By analyzing subtle color variations in the face caused by changes in blood volume, rPPG allows contactless extraction of physiological signals like heart rate. Combining this with PTT calculated from the video can enable BP derivation via regression modeling. However, rPPG is highly susceptible to factors like ambient lighting conditions, motion artifacts, and camera distance/angle. To assess feasibility, 40 PTT readings were collected from 20 individuals aged $21-45$ years where 2 recordings were captured per individual which lasted 10 seconds long. Testing on 6 of these individuals achieved 95.6% accuracy compared to a contact reference, indicating potential but also underlying challenges. The results suggest that more advanced rPPG extraction and processing techniques may be needed to obtain BP values robustly and accurately from facial videos, especially with subject

In the past decade, mobile computing has spurred the development of diverse user-centric applications, enhancing the capabilities of service providers and government entities. Recognizing the security flaws of password-based authentication, mobile devices increasingly adopt two-factor or three-factor authentication in line with NIST standards. Accessing most services involves user registration with a service provider, involving the submission of personal information, constituting the user’s digital identity. This digital identification is crucial for secure online transactions via mobile devices. The study proposes a mobile identity system, integrating a PKI-based communication approach with robust secure key storage. Notably, this method is cost-effective, scalable, and independent of external hardware, offering a comprehensive solution for digital identification and secure online transactions on portable devices.
