In the contemporary educational landscape, student performance evaluation stands as a pivotal facet of pedagogical improvement. Recognizing the significance of attendance as a determinant of academic success has not been well evaluated. Thus, this project embarks on a comprehensive investigation to analyze, visualize, and enhance the understanding of the intricate relationship between attendance and student performance. In this study, the visual analytic tool that combines data visualization and machine learning techniques to perform some visual analysis of students' attendance and its impact on student performance are presented. The research methodology of this project involves a comprehensive Data Science Life Cycle method that consists of six steps. an in-depth analysis of attendance data collected from diverse Higher Learning Institutions, encompassing different grade levels and disciplines. Through rigorous statistical analysis and data mining techniques, aim to uncover meaningful patterns, correlations, and insights that illuminate the impact of attendance on student outcomes. Simultaneously, leveraging the robust features of Power BI, the project translates these findings into interactive, visually-rich dashboards and reports, facilitating a deeper understanding of the attendance-performance relationship. This holistic approach aims to empower educators, administrators, and students with the means to make informed decisions, optimize attendance strategies, and ultimately enhance academic outcomes in the ever-evolving educational ecosystem. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a new dielectric resonator antenna(DRA)design that can generate circularly polarized(CP)triple-band *** CP DRA antenna fed by a probe feed system is achieved with metal strips structure on side of DRA *** design start with conventional rectangular DRA with F shaped metal strips on DRA structure alongside the ***,the F metal strip is enhanced by extending the length of the metal strip to obtain wider impedance *** improvement on the antenna performance is observed by improvised the conventional DRA *** method of removing part of DRA bottom resulted to higher antenna gain with triple band *** primary features of the proposed DRA include wide impedance matching bandwidth(BW)and broadband circular polarization(CP).The primary features of the proposedDRAinclude wide impedance matching bandwidth(BW)and broadband circular polarization(CP).The CP BW values recorded by the proposed antenna were∼11.27%(3.3–3.65 GHz),12.18%(4.17–4.69 GHz),and 1.74%(6.44–6.55 GHz)for impedance-matching BW values of 35.4%(3.3–4.69 GHz),1.74%(5.36–5.44 GHz),and 1.85%(6.41–6.55 GHz)with peak gains of 6.8 dBic,7.6 dBic,and 8.5 dBic,respectively,in the lower,central,and upper *** prototype of the proposed antenna geometry was fabricated and measured.A good agreement was noted between the simulated and the measured results.

This article presents the generation of Orbital AngularMomentum(OAM)vortex waves with mode 1 using Uniform Circular Array(UCA)*** different designs,namely,UCA-1(4-element array antenna)and UCA-2(8-element array antenna),were designed and fabricated using FR-4 substrate to generate OAM mode 1 at 3.5 GHz(5G mid-band).The proposed antenna arrays comprised rectangular microstrip patch elements with inset fed *** elements were excited by a carefully designed feeding phase shift network to provide similar output energy at output ports with desired phase shift *** generated OAM waves were confirmed by measuring the null in the bore sight of their 2D radiation patterns,simulated phase distribution and intensity *** measurement results agree well with the simulation ***,a detailed mode purity analysis of the generated OAM waves was carried out considering different *** investigation found that the greater the number of elements,the higher the purity of the generated OAM *** with other previous works,the proposed antenna design of this paper is very simple to design and *** addition,the proposed antennas are compact in design even at lower frequency band with very wide bandwidth to meet the requirements of 5G mid-band applications.

This paper delves into the convergence of electronic government (E-Government) and citizen electronic participation (E-Participation) within the realm of social media platforms through a comprehensive systematic literature review (SLR). It focuses on understanding the determinants of citizen participation in digital government revolutions. The review covers studies from 2017 to 2023 in Scopus and Web of Science, finding 27 primary studies that highlight the current knowledge landscape and research gaps. By analyzing critical success factors, challenges, and opportunities, the study identifies key aspects shaping e-participation in the digital age. It suggests future research directions, policy implications, and strategies to improve citizen-government collaboration. Using the DeLone and McLean Model (D&M) and relevant theories, the study establishes a theoretical framework encompassing technological, personal, and organizational factors. This review significantly enhances understanding in e-government, information systems (IS), and citizen e-participation, benefiting researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. © 2024 IEEE.

Underground high-voltage cable usage is expanding due to their resistance to pollutants, severe weather, heavy rain, and storms. However, these cables are prone to damage due to improper installation, poor jointing, and potential harm from third-party activities such as curb edging or trenching. Additionally, environmental factors, abrasion, and animal threats further complicate the process of locating and repairing faults. This project introduces a diagnosis system utilizing the Internet of Things (IoT) to identify and locate faults in underground cables. By enabling faster fault detection, the system aims to reduce the time, money, and effort associated with repairs. The IoT-based solution utilizes a set of voltage dividers mounted on the cable to detect faults. When a fault occurs due to a shortening between two cables, a voltage is generated, which is then detected by an ESP32 microcontroller. This microcontroller notifies the user by providing the fault location in kilometers. The gathered data is displayed on a liquid crystal display (LCD) and transmitted online via a Wi-Fi module to the Blynk cloud database for storage and further analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Efficient management of research grants is crucial for academic and scientific progress. However, unsystematic research management always poses risks like failure to meet the deadline or even failure to complete the project. To address the challenges in this domain, a prototype called the Smart Personal Research Grant Management System (SPRGM) was developed. This prototype aims to support sustainable and efficient research grant management by providing accessible, high-quality tools tailored to the needs of researchers and administrators. To evaluate its acceptance among potential users, a survey was conducted involving researchers and grant administrators. The evaluation followed the technology Acceptance Model (TAM), examining Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), and Intention to Adopt (ITA) using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. Results indicate the prototype achieved a high level of PU (mean=4.12), PEOU (mean=4.09), and ITA (mean=4.10). However, no significant correlation was found between PEOU, PU, and ITA, thus rejecting H1 (r = 0.726, p = 0.164), H2 (r = 0.321, p = 0.597), and H3 (r = 0.726, p = 0.164). The qualitative data was analyzed using sentiment and thematic analyses. Sentiment analysis revealed predominantly positive and neutral user perceptions, with an average sentiment score of +0.50 and a magnitude score of 0.51. Furthermore, the thematic analysis indicated that SPRGM is well-received by users, with some suggestions for improvement. This study extends the boundary of knowledge by exploring the role of digital technology in improving research grant management and promoting efficient use of resources in academic and research institutions. © 2024 IEEE.

Monolithic supercapacitors (SCs) were fabricated using roll-to-roll (R2R) screen printing. The printing process was utilized for various layouts, in which the electrode area was changed for different SC cells and modules. A common fabrication method for SCs is to assemble stacked structure by different layers. Another fabrication method requires a planar interdigitated electrode (IDE) structure, in which the SC can be fully printed on a single substrate. However, a more novel approach is to use a monolithic structure, which represents a stacked structure. The monolithic SC is printed layer-by-layer on a single substrate but is not restricted to the IDE structure enabling larger capacitance and lower equivalent series resistance (ESR). In this work, the monolithic SCs were successfully fabricated from R2R by screen printing. The printed SCs include individual cells and modules with cells in series. All SCs had varying electrode areas to achieve different capacitances and to determine if the area affects to the yield. The smaller area was observed to better prevent the contact through the separator. However, the modules had more variation in the cells, even with smaller electrode areas. © 2022 IEEE.

Large language models (LLMs) have garnered significant attention lately, and one particular implementation that has captivated users is ChatGPT, a first-of-its kind innovation that sparks intense debates among professionals regarding its ethical boundaries, especially after it was released for public use. Some of the debates are ongoing, with several people getting more used to this tool and some losing touch with several ethical concerns. Thus, it is crucial to explore the early professional’s perspectives surrounding ChatGPT to comprehend its potential impact on the educational sector and, in particular, society in general. This research aims to address this knowledge gap by employing data mining techniques on LinkedIn to analyze ChatGPT-related discussions and provide a comprehensive textual examination. The dataset for this investigation consists of 166 records written in English by LinkedIn users discussing ChatGPT in its early stage. The study utilized VOSviewer software to clean, analyze, mine, and visualize the data. Among the sample, it was observed that 49% of the users are PhD holders, predominantly with experience in scientific research and data science fields. Hence, the findings reveal that issues such as plagiarism, references, citations, manuscripts, papers, and literature reviews stand out as the major concerns. These results suggest that while ChatGPT can contribute to academic progress by fostering new knowledge, thoughts, and ideas, it can also facilitate academic misconduct, including plagiarism and inaccurate information dissemination. Therefore, this paper also provides discussions on the implications and ethical issues of ChatGPT. In particular, it is imperative to establish clear ethical boundaries and guidelines for the appropriate use of LLMs in academic settings. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

Red Palm Weevil infestation affecting palm trees is a major problem faced by coconut farmers, causing severe economic losses to palm cultivators worldwide. This infestation is fatal to the trees and can easily spread to nearby palms affecting a large number of trees, if left undetected. Detection of infestation at an early stage is critical for timely action to save palm trees. The paper presents a system for early detection of Red Palm Weevil infestation, by providing a smart, non-invasive and portable solution to the problem. The system based on an accelerometer sensor, analyses the signals from the palm and checks out for the unique features present in the signals generated by the pest. Audio, visual and SMS warnings are generated by the system on detecting infestation. The system also wirelessly communicates the infestation status to a remote database, which stores and maintains the historical data of palm trees monitored using this device, for facilitating pest control and management. © 2022 IEEE.
