Nuclear spins were among the first physical platforms to be considered for quantum information processing[1, 2], because of their exceptional quantum coherence[3] and atomic-scale footprint. However, their full potential for quantum computing has not yet been realized, due to the lack of methods to link nuclear qubits within a scalable device combined with multi-qubit operations with sufficient fidelity to sustain fault-tolerant quantum computation. Here we demonstrate universal quantum logic operations using a pair of ion-implanted 31P donor nuclei in a silicon nanoelectronic device. A nuclear two-qubit controlled-Z gate is obtained by imparting a geometric phase to a shared electron spin[4], and used to prepare entangled Bell states with fidelities up to 94.2(2.7)%. The quantum operations are precisely characterised using gate set tomography (GST)[5], yielding one-qubit average gate fidelities up to 99.95(2)%, two-qubit average gate fidelity of 99.37(11)% and two-qubit preparation/measurement fidelities of 98.95(4)%. These three metrics indicate that nuclear spins in silicon are approaching the performance demanded in fault-tolerant quantum processors [6]. We then demonstrate entanglement between the two nuclei and the shared electron by producing a Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger three-qubit state with 92.5(1.0)% fidelity. Since electron spin qubits in semiconductors can be further coupled to other electrons[7, 8, 9] or physically shuttled across different locations[10, 11], these results establish a viable route for scalable quantum information processing using donor nuclear and electron spins. Low latency is a critical requirement of beyond 5G services. Previously, the aspect of latency has been extensively analyzed in conventional and modern wireless networks. With the rapidly growing research interest in wireless-powered ambient backscatter communications, it has become ever more important to meet the delay constraints, while maximizing the achievable data rate. Therefore, to address the issue of latency in backscatter networks, this paper provides a deep Q-learning based framework for delay constrained ambient backscatter networks. To do so, a Q-learning model for ambient backscatter scenario has been developed. In addition, an algorithm has been proposed that employ deep neural networks to solve the complex Q-network. The simulation results show that the proposed approach not only improves the network performance but also meets the delay constraints for a dense backscatter network.

The high demand use of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) in wireless body area network (WBAN) based medical applications opens a way for many types of research in the current decade. The continuous health monitoring of the patients during normal daily activities is the primary concentration of the WBAN system. Many studies and analyses are taken into and performance is evaluated. The major sections which are discussed in this paper are UWB technologies, on-off body communication; WBAN ideas are discussed to overcome several research drawbacks.

This paper discusses the possible effort to mitigate insider threats risk and aim to inspire organizations to consider identifying insider threats as one of the risks in the company's enterprise risk management activities. The paper suggests Trusted Human Framework (THF) as the on-going and cyclic process to detect and deter potential employees who bound to become the fraudster or perpetrator violating the access and trust given. The mitigation's control statements were derived from the recommended practices in the “Common Sense Guide to Mitigating Insider Threats” produced by the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University (SEI-CMU). The statements validated via a survey which was responded by fifty respondents who work in Malaysia.

This article's main contributions are twofold: 1) to demonstrate how to apply the general European Union's High-Level Expert Group's (EU HLEG) guidelines for trustworthy AI in practice for the domain of healthcare and 2) to investigate the research question of what does 'trustworthy AI' mean at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. To this end, we present the results of a post-hoc self-assessment to evaluate the trustworthiness of an AI system for predicting a multiregional score conveying the degree of lung compromise in COVID-19 patients, developed and verified by an interdisciplinary team with members from academia, public hospitals, and industry in time of pandemic. The AI system aims to help radiologists to estimate and communicate the severity of damage in a patient's lung from Chest X-rays. It has been experimentally deployed in the radiology department of the ASST Spedali Civili clinic in Brescia, Italy, since December 2020 during pandemic time. The methodology we have applied for our post-hoc assessment, called Z-Inspection®, uses sociotechnical scenarios to identify ethical, technical, and domain-specific issues in the use of the AI system in the context of the pandemic. © 2020 IEEE.

Blob detection and localization is a common process used in the machine vision. Current existing blob detection method is using 2-dimensional kernel matrix which is higher in time consumption and also memory space. This study has proposed a dedicated digital architecture consist of two modules to detect binary image blob using only 1 -dimensional image pixel. First module is used to detect connected pixel in a row of pixel, and second module is used to perform windowing to justify blob location. This study has been successfully implemented and tested on Altera DE2 FPGA board. The proposed architecture only takes 24 clock cycles to deliver blob location and related features. The tested architecture only utilizes 1597 logic element, or 4.81% of the FPGA total resources.

Chinese sausage is traditional air-dry sausage that loved by the Chinese community around the globe. This sausage can be served alone after steam cook or cook with other ingredients to create other tasty Chinese delicacies. However, a manual hand cutting process is required to cut out the sausage linking twist during the sausage's packaging phase. This hand cutting process is tedious, time consuming and danger to workers. This study has proposed two types of sausage casing twist detector using image processing technique based on HSL and RGB colour characteristic and a set of blob detection technique to detect sausage casing twist blob on the output image. Hue, green-blue and red-blue colour characteristics are found being significant to represent the sausage casing twist in the sample images and used in the proposed algorithms. The RGB based algorithm is capable to produce a low noise image with SNR of 3.73dB as compared to Hue-based detector at -8.89dB which unsuccessful to remove shadow and object outlining of the output image. The proposed blob detection algorithm is able to detect 73.02% of the blob in hue-based image while 94.18% in RGB based image. The false detection rate in hue-based image has reached 333.33% compared to 12.17 % in RGB based image.

The optimization of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) parameters is crucial for improving performance, durability, and efficiency across various applications. However, existing metaheuristic algorithms face limitations such as slow convergence, susceptibility to local optima, and high computational costs. To address these issues, this study proposes a hybrid Artificial Gorilla Troops Optimizer and Honey Badger Algorithm (GTOHBA) to enhance PEMFC parameter estimation. The proposed algorithm integrates the efficient global search of GTO with the adaptive foraging behavior of HBA, ensuring better exploration-exploitation balance. The performance of GTOHBA was evaluated on six different PEMFC models: BCS 500 W, SR-12, Horizon H-12, Nedstack 600 W PS6, STD 250 W and Ballard Mark V. The results demonstrate that GTOHBA achieved the lowest sum of squared errors (SSEmin = 0.025493) with an exceptionally low standard deviation (SSESD = 8.35×10⁻⁶), outperforming other state-of-the-art optimization methods. Moreover, GTOHBA exhibited superior computational efficiency with the shortest runtime (0.179909 s), significantly reducing the computational burden compared to PSO and MFO. The theoretical analysis confirms that GTOHBA effectively mitigates issues of premature convergence and enhances parameter extraction accuracy through its hybrid structure. Practically, the algorithm enables precise modeling of PEMFC behavior, improving power output predictions with minimal absolute error (AE = 0.012913) and percentage relative error ( %RE = 0.061363 %). The key benefit for readers is the demonstration of a robust, fast, and highly accurate optimization framework for PEMFC parameter estimation. However, further research is needed to assess GTOHBA's adaptability under dynamic real-time conditions and large-scale fuel cell stacks.

In this work, the result of the initial attempt to propose an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) digital security and interoperability standard to support the mobility among ASEAN countries is presented. Literature reviews on existing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) related digital technologies of six ASEAN member countries are conducted. Several concerns related to creating/implementing the ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard are discussed including the technology accessing concern, the data security and privacy concern, and the data interoperability and availability concern. The proposed solution toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard is then presented. To evaluate the proposed solution, a survey has been conducted on representatives of nine ASEAN countries on four main issues including the security standards and requirements, the interoperability standard and requirements, the certifications, and the implementation challenges. According to the survey and the discussion, seven recommendations were proposed toward creating an ASEAN digital security and interoperability standard. First, each country collects and maintains the data of its own citizens and also provides a method to authenticate and access the data by authorized requests. Second, QR code standard or ASEAN QR code standard must be agreed upon so that it can be authenticated and verified by ASEAN countries. Third, health risk assessment must be agreed upon to be used. Forth, the security standard, the data, the data format and the exchange protocol must be agreed upon at the ASEAN policy level while adoption of international standards as an implementation guideline will ease of the process and neutralize different requirements from various countries.
