Transformative artificially intelligent tools, such as ChatGPT, designed to generate sophisticated text indistinguishable from that produced by a human, are applicable across a wide range of contexts. The technology presents opportunities as well as, often ethical and legal, challenges, and has the potential for both positive and negative impacts for organisations, society, and individuals. Offering multi-disciplinary insight into some of these, this article brings together 43 contributions from experts in fields such as computer science, marketing, information systems, education, policy, hospitality and tourism, management, publishing, and nursing. The contributors acknowledge ChatGPT's capabilities to enhance productivity and suggest that it is likely to offer significant gains in the banking, hospitality and tourism, and information technology industries, and enhance business activities, such as management and marketing. Nevertheless, they also consider its limitations, disruptions to practices, threats to privacy and security, and consequences of biases, misuse, and misinformation. However, opinion is split on whether ChatGPT's use should be restricted or legislated. Drawing on these contributions, the article identifies questions requiring further research across three thematic areas: knowledge, transparency, and ethics;digital transformation of organisations and societies;and teaching, learning, and scholarly research. The avenues for further research include: identifying skills, resources, and capabilities needed to handle generative AI;examining biases of generative AI attributable to training datasets and processes;exploring business and societal contexts best suited for generative AI implementation;determining optimal combinations of human and generative AI for various tasks;identifying ways to assess accuracy of text produced by generative AI;and uncovering the ethical and legal issues in using generative AI across different contexts. © 2023 The Authors

Requirements elicitation is an important task before any development of system repository can be conducted. Typically, traditional methods such as interview, questionnaire and observation are made to gauge the users’ needs. However, the users may not be able to spell out specifically of their need especially if there is no available system to compare resulting to outrageous demands and unrealistic expectations to the repository developer. An alternative approach to gauge the user needs from users’ reviews of the on-the-shelf software may be a good starting point. In this paper we attempt to extract requirements from the users’ independent reviews gathered from the internet using text analytics approach. The keywords are visualized based on its relevance and importance to the user. Then, it is used as a benchmark for the user to alter to their specific repository needs. From the experimental results, it is observed that there are functions that are very much needed by the user and yet there are also functions that are not used at all. Hence, this proposed approach may give insight to the user and developer about the actual needs of the respective system. It is envisaged that such approach can be a guide to the novice user and the developer in order to shorten the time to agree on the development of the repository system. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The public key cryptosystems are mainly used to provide two cryptographic services called confidentiality and authentication. The RSA is one well known and widely used public key cryptosystem that uses two large and distinct integers to generate the keys. In this paper, we proposed an enhanced and secured RSA public key cryptosystem (ESRPKC) algorithm using Chinese remainder theorem. To increase the complexity of the system the proposed ESRPKC uses four prime numbers instead of two primes to generate the public/private key pairs. To generate the public/private key pairs, the proposed ESRPKC uses similar method as that of traditional RSA. In order to enhance the security level, the encryption and decryption functions are modified in proposed ESRPKC. The encryption function uses one extra key parameter called encryption key which is generated by using Chinese remainder theorem. The decryption function also uses one extra parameter to decrypt the message. The complexity of encryption and decryption functions is also acceptable. The proposed algorithm requires only one extra multiplication to perform encryption and decryption operations as compare to traditional RSA cryptosystem. The proposed scheme is highly secured because the encryption and decryption functions uses one extra key parameter and are not only dependent on the public and private key pairs respectively. The security and performance analysis ensures that the proposed ESRPKC algorithm is highly secure and efficient as compare to existing schemes. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2018.

Ad hoc wireless networks have gained worldwide attention from both academic groups and individual consumers in recent years. There are many very tiny autonomous networking, connectivity, and sensing systems with minimal energy and computational resources that function together to accomplish a big sensing mission. Wireless sensor systems include multiple sensing devices, some computing technology, and limited power supplies connectivity and processing capabilities that jointly serve a major sensing mission. Wireless sensor networks focused on IEEE802.11b pose a few concerns such as battery scavenging for a limited power source. Therefore, the proper functioning of such a device relies on wireless motes `resources. In this paper, two theoretical models showing and forecasting the QoS as regards performance. The performance of star topology is 15 percent better than the grid topology in throughput. while the average end-to-end delay record is 17.25 ms and 76.25 ms respectively for star network topology and grid networks topology. The jitter decreases with a growing data rate of (1 to 11) Mbps in grid and star topology, the average jitter in star topology less than in grid in all tests. in terms of energy, in a star network, the average energy usage was 0.065 mWh while the average in grid record 0.045 mWh. These two distinct IEEE 802.11b network architectures are cluster-based and grid-based and are validated using simulators Qual-Net.

Wireless connectivity is a critical enabler for many IoT applications. Antennas are often required to be installed inside the device cover, which usually occurs in small sizes with optimal performance. On the other hand, a suitable antenna should also have high efficiency, gain and adequate bandwidth covering the desired frequency range. Here, we proposed new type of Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) with miniaturized resonator element to enhance the gain of an CPW antenna. Furthermore, the miniaturization of the Frequency Selective Surface unit cell is attained by coupling the two meandered wire resonators. The wire resonator is separated by thin and single substrate layer. The structure of the FSS is shown to have a FSS unit cell dimension that is miniaturized to 0.057λ. The CPW antenna size is only 28.8mm × 46.5mm operating at 2.45 GHz frequency. With the additional of the FSS, the antenna's gain reaches up from 1.8 dBi to 2.6 dBi with omnidirectional radiation pattern.

Homomorphic encryption is an encryption scheme that allows different operations on encrypted data and produces the same result as well that the operations performed on the plaintext. Homomorphic encryption can be used to enhance the security measure of un-trusted systems which manipulates and stores sensitive data. Therefore, homomorphic encryption can be used in cloud computing environment for ensuring the confidentiality of processed data. This study aims to investigate the determinants of the privacy protection behaviour strategies that been employed by users while utilising SNSs. By understanding the determinants of privacy protection will be able to generate awareness that can protect users and allow them to confidently impose their self-control through the execution of privacy protection behaviour strategies. The finding has shown that there was a significant relationship of perceived severity, perceived vulnerability, response efficacy and self-efficacy towards information privacy concern as well as a significant relationship of information privacy concern and privacy protection behaviour strategies. This research is crucial as it serves as a guide that provides instructions and guidelines that help users of SNSs to keep their privacy intact. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

Sixth generation (6G) wireless network infrastructure makes use of terahertz communication interfaces and latency service. The growth of real-time applications and service support increases the data handling capacity and processing requirements. The data processing rate must be comparatively high with the available resources to meet the users' quality of service (QoS) requirements. This article proposes an affirmative data analytics (ADA) method to improve data processing consistency in 6G wireless networks. The consistency of the ADA method relies on the 6G service features in the service-rendering environment. The affirmation process is provided using support vector machine (SVM) learning to achieve consistency in handling diverse-attributed data. Then the attribute and association between data and services are achieved with best-fit processing time and minimum complexity. The performance of the proposed ADA is verified for heterogeneous service applications in a wireless network using the metrics analysis time (723.629 ms), complexity (11.311%), and response time (1.034 s).

An IoT-Based Alarm Air Quality Monitoring System

In the air, there are many dust particles and pollutant gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide that created an air pollution. The indoor and outdoor air pollution has brought the illness and harmful effect to human health. This creates a need for an IoT Alarm Air Quality Monitoring System to detect the dust particle, pollutant gases, temperature and humidity in the surrounding. The objective of this research work is to develop an indoor and outdoor air quality monitoring system for different air quality parameters (carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide), temperature, humidity, and dust concentration (air particle). Besides, the Node-RED dashboard and Android app are developed for real-time remotely applications in this system. The system performance is evaluated by testing the sensor used in the research work. In this research work, NodeMCU, MQ7, MQ135, DHT22, and DSM501A are mainly used to develop the hardware. The MQTT is implemented as publish-subscribe network protocol to transfer the data as a message with the specific topic name. In the MQTT, the Node-RED dashboard, Android app and hardware are the MQTT client which are able to publish and subscribe the message. The Node-RED dashboard acts as a live dashboard for monitoring and alarming purpose whilst the Android Studio is used to develop an Android app for the monitoring and alarm system in the smartphone. The Node-RED dashboard and Android app are able to display the data and notification message for different parameters on healthy or unhealthy level. The user can activate and deactivate the alarm system in the Node-RED dashboard or Android app as well.
