With the ever growth of Internet users,video applications,and massive data traffic across the network,there is a higher need for reliable bandwidth-efficient multimedia *** Video Coding(VVC/H.266)is finalized in September 2020 providing significantly greater compression efficiency compared to Highest Efficient Video Coding(HEVC)while providing versatile effective use for Ultra-High Definition(HD)*** article analyzes the quality performance of convolutional codes,turbo codes and self-concatenated convolutional(SCC)codes based on performance metrics for reliable future video *** advent of turbo codes was a significant achievement ever in the era of wireless communication approaching nearly the Shannon *** codes are operated by the deployment of an interleaver between two Recursive Systematic Convolutional(RSC)encoders in a parallel *** RSC encoders may be operating on the same or different architectures and code *** proposed work utilizes the latest source compression standards H.266 and H.265 encoded standards and Sphere Packing modulation aided differential Space Time Spreading(SP-DSTS)for video transmission in order to provide bandwidth-efficient wireless video ***,simulation results show that turbo codes defeat convolutional codes with an averaged E_(b)/N_(0) gain of 1.5 dB while convolutional codes outperformcompared to SCC codes with an E_(b)/N_(0) gain of 3.5 dBatBit ErrorRate(BER)of 10−*** Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR)results of convolutional codes with the latest source coding standard of H.266 is plotted against convolutional codes with H.265 and it was concluded H.266 outperform with about 6 dB PSNR gain at E_(b)/N_(0) value of 4.5 dB.

Classification of benign and malignant breast lesions in mammograms using dense-unified multiscale attention network and data-efficient image transformers

Breast cancer is a common and a serious health problem and it is the major cause of morbidity and mortality for women. Early detection of the disease is particularly challenging because abnormalities such as masses and microcalcifications exhibit subtle and diverse characteristics that are often difficult to identify in mammograms. In recent years, advancement in artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning (DL), has shown to improve diagnostic accuracy and early-stage tumor detection. This study aims to improve performance of DL models by considering both masses and microcalcifications in the proposed work to classify breast cancer abnormalities. The proposed work introduces a novel dual-track network that employs a combination of dense-unified multiscale attention fusion (UMAF) track and data-efficient image transformer (DeiT). The DeiT track processes the entire image simultaneously using patch embeddings, enabling them to capture multiscale representations and dependencies across the entire image. Simultaneously, the Dense-UMAF track focuses on extracting localized features while utilizing connectivity of DenseNet architecture to enable effective feature reuse. This approach generates relevant input features through residual connections of varying lengths, thereby effectively addressing the vanishing gradient problem. The UMAF improves feature extraction by capturing multiscale information, resulting in a better representation of the input data. This dual-track architecture is specifically designed to capture the characteristics of mass and calcification abnormalities in mammograms, which display both localized features and global contextual patterns. The proposed network was evaluated on the Curated Breast Imaging Subset of Digital Database for Screening Mammography dataset, obtaining a classification accuracy of 88.69%.

The accuracy of the statistical learning model depends on the learning technique used which in turn depends on the dataset’s *** most research studies,the existence of missing values(MVs)is a vital *** addition,any dataset with MVs cannot be used for further analysis or with any data driven tool especially when the percentage of MVs are *** this paper,the authors propose a novel algorithm for dealing with MVs depending on the feature selec-tion(FS)of similarity classiﬁer with fuzzy entropy *** proposed algo-rithm imputes MVs in cumulative *** candidate feature to be manipulated is selected using similarity classiﬁer with Parkash’s fuzzy entropy *** predictive model to predict MVs within the candidate feature is the Bayesian Ridge Regression(BRR)***,any imputed features will be incorporated within the BRR equation to impute the MVs in the next chosen incomplete *** proposed algorithm was compared against some practical state-of-the-art imputation methods by conducting an experiment on four medical datasets which were gathered from several databases repository with MVs gener-ated from the three missingness *** evaluation metrics of mean abso-lute error(MAE),root mean square error(RMSE)and coefﬁcient of determination(R2 score)were used to measure the *** results exhibited that perfor-mance vary depending on the size of the dataset,amount of MVs and the missing-ness mechanism ***,compared to other methods,the results showed that the proposed method gives better accuracy and less error in most cases.

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the world economy, and Malaysia is no exception. Due to the closure of businesses, the rate of unemployment has been recorded at an all-time high. The Malaysian Government through its agencies is assisting citizens through an online platform for incentives and an aid-giving platform. The current architecture of data sharing is using centralized, organization-oriented authentication and is not immutable for audit capability. In addition, the blockchain network is still a proof of concept in the digital government ecosystem. This paper studies the current aid data-sharing ecosystem and analyzes the potential of having a state government consortium blockchain framework that will be used in the Government Network Infrastructure for decentralized, transparent data sharing with audit capability. Several works involving Blockchain adoption based on domain, Blockchain consortium architecture and Government applications using blockchain are being presented. The need for a framework in implementing decentralized data sharing using consortium blockchain architecture for multi-agencies data sharing focusing on Malaysia Government Aid Management is discussed in this paper to provide the opportunity for the research domain. The findings in this paper will be used for future work on the requirement of a proposed government multi-layer consortium blockchain framework for data sharing in the Malaysian Government specifically for the Johore State Government ecosystem. © 2023 IEEE.

The idea of a gadget operated by a remote or switch is today considered antiquated. This is the technology of the future. The article presents a novel approach of managing smart appliances with voice commands, which is referred to as Voice Assisted Smart Appliance Control (VASAP). In order to assess the efficacy and performance of the suggested system, it is compared against the traditional GPRS Assisted Smart Appliance Control (GPRSSAC). An Android app requires the user to speak commands. Voice instructions may be recognized and transmitted to the system using this program. These commands are decoded by a receiver and decoder, which then send them over a serial connection to the Arduino controllers. The system's software and hardware are developed in accordance with this plan, and the system's wireless communication technique, which integrates Wi-Fi and RF (radio frequency), is also established. The systems functional needs inform the design of two sets of control schemes-one for voice control and one for button control-with the goal of making the system more compassionate. For the voice control solution to work, the user must first read out from the smart terminal the control instructions that have been pre-programmed into the system's voice library. Once the recognition is confirmed, the user will be able to command their household appliances. Under the key control scheme, smart terminal keys are used to operate household appliances. In order to collect and store audio, verify family members, and recognize voice commands, the upper computer uses an algorithm that was studied in this study. The lower computer collects environmental information in real-time and wirelessly controls home facilities. Upon startup, family members are asked to confirm their voice commands. Following this, the system uses real-time environmental information and the results of voice command recognition to formulate a control command. Background Here we analysed the possibility of improving the sustainability performance for the recovery of dichloromethane and methanol from a binary azeotropic mixture using different energy-intensified extractive distillation-based processes: side-stream extractive distillation (SSED), thermally coupled extractive distillation (TCED), and extractive dividing wall column (EDWC). The sustainability performance of the different processes was analysed based on three main factors: total annual cost (TAC), CO2 emissions, and condition number. Results The EDWC was found to give the best improvement in terms of TAC and CO2 emissions by about 18% and 21%, relative to conventional extractive distillation (CED). These however were traded-off by the increase in conditional number (CN) by 186 times, signifying a complex dynamic characteristic for the EDWC. Thus, the SSED was suggested as an alternative sustainable option as it also provides significant improvement in TAC and CO2 emissions by about 11%, and 18% with respect to the CED, whilst providing the least reduction in operational controllability, as evidenced by the marginal increase in the CN of about 1.5 times. We also investigated the dynamic performance of the SSED and found that the SSED provides identical dynamic performance in handling both ±10% throughput and ±5% feed composition disturbances as those of the CED. Conclusion Among the different processes, SSED is the best sustainable alternative that provides compromised steady-state (i.e. TAC and CO2 emissions) and dynamic (i.e. control) performance for the recovery of dichloromethane and methanol. © 2022 Society of Chemical Industry (SCI).

Evaluation of Shallow Convolutional Neural Network in Open-World Chart Image Classification

Data’s role is pivotal in the era of internet technologies, but unstructured data poses comprehension challenges. Data visualizations like charts have emerged as crucial tools for condensing complex information. Classifying charts and applying various processing techniques are vital to interpreting visual data. Traditional chart image classification methods rely on predefined rules and have limited accuracy. The advent of support vector machines (SVMs) and convolutional neural networks (CNNs) significantly improved the accuracy of these methods. This research evaluates our previously introduced Shallow convolutional neural network (SCNN) architecture for chart image classification, comprising four convolutional layers, two max-pooling layers, and one fully-connected layer. The network achieves state-of-the-art results, requiring smaller datasets and reduced computational resources. When two networks are combined into Siamese SCNN (SSCNN), emphasizing generalization, it achieves high accuracy with small datasets and excels in open-set classification. The evaluation process encompasses the utilization of six publicly available datasets. © 2024 Slovene Society Informatika. All rights reserved.

The advancements made in Internet of Things(IoT)is projected to alter the functioning of healthcare industry in addition to increased penetration of different ***,data security and private are challenging tasks to accomplish in IoT and necessary measures to be taken to ensure secure *** this background,the current paper proposes a novel lightweight cryptography method for enhance the security in *** proposed encryption algorithm is a blend of Cross Correlation Coefficient(CCC)and Black Widow Optimization(BWO)*** the presented encryption technique,CCC operation is utilized to optimize the encryption process of cryptography *** projected encryption algorithm works in line with encryption and decryption *** key selection is performed with the help of Artificial Intelligence(AI)tool named BWO *** the combination of AI technique and CCC operation,optimal security operation is improved in *** different sets of images collected from databases,the projected technique was validated in MATLAB on the basis of few performance metrics such as encryption time,decryption time,Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR),CC,Error,encryption time and decryption *** results were compared with existing methods such as Elliptical Curve cryptography(ECC)and Rivest-Shamir-Adleman(RSA)and the supremacy of the projected method is established.
