The next generation of wireless communications seeks to deeply integrate artificial intelligence (AI) with user-centric communication networks, with the goal of developing AI-native networks that more accurately address user requirements. The rapid development of large language models (LLMs) offers significant potential in realizing these goals. However, existing efforts that leverage LLMs for wireless communication often overlook the considerable gap between human natural language and the intricacies of real-world communication systems, thus failing to fully exploit the capabilities of LLMs. To address this gap, we propose a novel LLM-driven paradigm for wireless communication that innovatively incorporates the nature language to structured query language (NL2SQL) tool. Specifically, in this paradigm, user personal requirements is the primary focus. Upon receiving a user request, LLMs first analyze the user intent in terms of relevant communication metrics and system parameters. Subsequently, a structured query language (SQL) statement is generated to retrieve the specific parameter values from a high-performance real-time database. We further utilize LLMs to formulate and solve an optimization problem based on the user request and the retrieved parameters. The solution to this optimization problem then drives adjustments in the communication system to fulfill the user’s requirements. To validate the feasibility of the proposed paradigm, we present a prototype system. In this prototype, we consider user-request centric semantic communication (URC-SC) system in which a dynamic semantic representation network at the physical layer adapts its encoding depth to meet user requirements, such as improved data transmission quality or reduced data transmission latency. Additionally, two LLMs are employed to analyze user requests and generate SQL statements, respectively. Digital twins, the virtual representations of physical assets, processes or systems, are becoming increasingly important in cyber-physical systems. They are a foundational block of Industry 4.0, the movement to digitalize industrial *** Asset Administration Shell (AAS) has been established as the preferable model to capture interoperable digital twins in the context of Industry 4.0. As asset administration shells become more prevalent, so does the need for specialized software development kits (SDKs) to manage *** intertwined Industry 4.0 value chains are highly dependent on interoperability. The SDKs for AAS are often the direct interface between the components, and the malfunctioning of the SDKs leads to the breakage of the value chain. It is therefore important that we have the tools to determine how individual SDKs behave, and detect when they malfunction. In this work, we implement an approach to assessing the maturity of the SDKs for managing asset administration shells, and perform a thorough survey and evaluation of the existing SDKs.

In recent years, a plethora of deployment technologies evolved, many following a declarative approach to automate the delivery of software components. Even if such technologies share the same purpose, they differ in features and supported mechanisms. Thus, it is difficult to compare and select deployment automation technologies as well as to migrate from one technology to another. Hence, we present a systematic review of declarative deployment technologies and introduce the essential deployment metamodel (EDMM) by extracting the essential parts that are supported by all these technologies. Thereby, the EDMM enables a common understanding of declarative deployment models by facilitating the comparison, selection, and migration of technologies. Moreover, it provides a technology-independent baseline for further deployment automation research. © 2019, The Author(s).

This paper focuses on multi-objective optimization methods to address control strategies in microgrid systems. We introduce an unique problem formulation capable of processing real-time data and propose a new methodology that integrates multiple energy management constraints within a multi-objective optimization framework. Additionally, we propose a set of objective functions tailored for this optimization approach. The goal of this paper is to implement several multi-objective optimization algorithms within this strategy and use a dataset to evaluate them. This approach is applied to optimize microgrid design based on energy requirements, while conducting optimal sizing analysis accompanied by sensitivity analysis. An Energy Management System has been developed with technical functionalities that incorporate various constraints. Our findings demonstrate that the NSGA-II algorithm delivers highly promising results, achieving significant reductions in energy costs and total net present value, while maximizing energy production from sustainable sources.

The OASIS standard TOSCA provides a portable means for specifying multi-service applications and automating their deployment. Despite TOSCA is widely used in research, it is currently not supported by the production-ready deployment technologies daily used by practitioners, hence resulting in a gap between the state-of-the-art in research and the state-of-practice in industry. To help bridging this gap, we identified TOSCA Light, a subset of TOSCA enabling the transformation of compliant deployment models to the vast majority of deployment technology-specific models used by practitioners nowadays. In this paper, we demonstrate TOSCA Lightning by two contributions. We (i) present an integrated toolchain for specifying multi-service applications with TOSCA Light and transforming them into different production-ready deployment technologies. Additionally, we (ii) demonstrate the toolchain’s effectiveness based on a third-party application and Kubernetes. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Cloud storage services offer flexible, convenient solutions for business and personal users to store data. Traditionally, Third Party Auditors (TPAs) are introduced to ensure data integrity for public auditing. However, TPAs may also be untrusted for forging the auditing results or colluding with cloud storage servers to deceive users. In this paper, we propose a novel Blockchain-based Public Auditing Outsourcing system without TPAs (BPAO), in which the computationally expensive operations in public auditing are outsourced through blockchain to the cloud servers without risking users' privacy. Our security analysis indicates that BPAO achieves soundness and robustness. The experimental results show that BPAO is computationally efficient for cloud storage user. © 2021 IEEE.

Experimental Study on Gravity Currents with Internal Strati Cation in Semicircular Channels

We present an experimental study of gravity currents (GCs) with internal stratification in a semicircular channel in the inertial–buoyancy and Boussinesq regime. Forty tests were performed with a denser volume of fluid (brine advancing in a fresh water ambient fluid) in lock-release. The lock contains an internal stratification, with a layer of density ρL overlain by a layer of density ρU, where ρa U L and ρa is the density of the ambient fluid. The experiments cover both a full depth and a partial depth configuration. The measurements consist of marking the front position of the currents as a function of the time from release, t. Two lateral video-cameras were used to detect the flow profile. Also local instantaneous density and velocity profiles data were collected in a fixed section downstream of the gate, in order to give further details and a better description of the physical phenomenon. The integral data of front speed and current thickness were compared to a theoretical model [1] based on (i) a Boussinesq flow;(ii) large Reynolds number;(iii) current advancing in shallow water conditions;and (iv) negligible ambient fluid dynamics. The system of equations and boundary conditions allows the prediction of the motion of the GC, in particular the position and speed of the nose xN (t) and uN (t). The agreement of theory and experiments is fairly good, especially for the full depth configuration. The partial depth configuration experiments are less accurately reproduced by the theory, and require a correction coefficient of the Froude number at the front, mimicking dissipation and mixing. A thorough investigation was carried out for density profiles, average velocities within the current, and buoyancy fluxes of a turbulent diffusive nature, with a quadrant analysis distinguishing the origin and direction of the fluxes. © 2022, The Authors. The adoption of Battery Electric Buses (BEBs) in electric public transit systems presents a significant opportunity for advancing sustainable transportation. However, it also poses challenges to the coupled electric transport and energy systems, particularly concerning the safety and efficiency of Power Distribution Networks (PDN). This study introduces a comprehensive BEB-PDN framework designed for the joint optimization of charging infrastructure, charging scheduling, and integration of renewable energy resources, with a specific focus on their impacts on PDN. The complexity of the proposed model is primarily due to its extensive decision variables and nonlinear constraints. To address this, a decomposition approach is employed, linearizing the problem and dividing it into master and subproblems for efficient resolution. A case study in Skövde, Sweden demonstrates that without renewable energy integration, high charging demands from BEBs can lead to PDN safety violations, such as significant voltage drops at certain nodes. The incorporation of renewable energy sources with battery energy storage in the BEB transit system is shown to enhance the PDN's stability and safety while catering to the system's spatiotemporal charging demands. This study offers an optimization framework for the integrated planning of charging infrastructure, BEB systems, and renewable energy, providing empirical insights into their potential benefits. © 2024, The Authors. The superconducting rapid single flux quantum (RSFQ) logic circuit has the characteristics of high speed and low power consumption, making it an attractive candidate for future supercomputers. However, computer-aided design (CAD) tools for CMOS cannot be directly applied to RSFQ logic due to their distinct properties. For instance, the RSFQ logic gate can work properly when all its fan-ins have the same logic level. This paper presents the design flow from RTL to RSFQ logic netlist and schematic. First, we implement logic synthesis for RSFQ logic circuits. It achieves path balancing while minimizing the number of DFFs. In addition, we propose an automatic schematic generator for the RSFQ logic circuits. It converts the synthesized netlist into its equivalent schematic. A layer assignment algorithm is proposed, which makes all gates layered in the order of the clock arrival time. Experimental results with ISCAS85 and EPFL benchmarks along with some Kogge-Stone adders have shown a 29.2% reduction in the number of DFFs over the breadth-first first search;moreover, 59.57% and 5.3% decrease in the number of layers of the schematic and number of edge crossings over the ELK tool. © 2020 Association for Computing Machinery.
