This paper focuses on monocular-video-based stationary detection of the pedestrian's intention to enter the traffic lane. We propose a motion contour image based HOG-like descriptor, MCHOG, and a machine learning algorithm that reaches the decision at an accuracy of 99% within the initial step at the curb of smart infrastructure. MCHOG implicitly comprises the body language of gait initiation, especially the body bending and the spread of legs. In a case study at laboratory conditions we present ROC performance data and an evaluation of the span of time necessary for recognition. While MCHOG in special cases indicates detection of the intention before the whole body moves, on average it allows for detection of the movement within 6 frames at a frame rate of 50 Hz and an accuracy of 80%. Feasibility of the method in a real world intersection scenario is demonstrated.

Human life is divided into day periods as a main periods which consist of a day and night phase. Most of humans need to sleep a eight hours in a minimum to have their body and all the body function ready in day phase of a day. The second very important thing (instead of 8 hour sleep) is a phase of sleep in which a human is wake up. Waking up of a human in deep sleep phase lead to a very “unhappy” morning and not so nice spend of day. We are trying to develop algorithms to detect mild sleep stages which are the most suitable to human wake up. Actually we use microphone input to record and process sound near the monitored user. All the knowledge is implemented to mobile phone (windows mobile based device) as an intelligent alarm application. Whole application is designed as multithread Real-Time application based on. NET Compact Framework platform in C# language. Filtration and detection algorithms used special Math library Math. NET to process a recorded sound signal. This paper consists of several chapters which describes design, implementation and testing phases of this mobile application development. Actual testing results shows that our developed application detect correctly more than 70% of mild sleep stages of all tested persons.

Patient monitor modules have various inputs for vital function measurement. We can practice many of these measurements with some students in the laboratory of biomedical engineering. However, invasive blood pressure (IBP) measurement demonstration is impossible. This paper is dealing with design and realization of a programmable invasive blood pressure simulator. This device is able to generate programmable behavior of voltage signal with correspond to blood pressure curve. The user communication interface of the device allows choosing the type of generated signal by LCD and 4 push buttons. The wide spectrums of generated signals, which correspond to physiological or pathological blood pressure curves, are stored in a user programmable memory. The output connectors of the device can be directly connected to a patient monitor IBP module input. Invasive blood pressure measurement simulation for educational purposes and calibrating the patients monitors are the general usages of the developed device.

This project connects pleasurable with useful, respectively playing of the game with physical effort. By the help of the accelerometer is possible to handle by simple games to whose operating is needed physical impulsion of the player. This paper describes development of a biotelemetric system and problem of real time processing of ECG signal. In this case of signal processing ECG CorBelt primarily on mobile embedded monitoring stations. The Whole system is based on Microsoft product as Windows Mobile, Microsoft SQL Server, .NET Micro Framework, .NET Compact Framework and .NET Framework. On paper is deal with ECG measurement devices and there are evaluated pasted real tests. Problem in processing of ECG signal is quantity of transfered data. Commercial mobile devices can't processing this data on Real Time. Our paper are described possibilities of parsing of this ECG signal. Visualization of data is solved by small userfriendly application created in WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) and Silverlight application. This application was created in development environment Microsoft Expression Blend and was subjected to stress tests. This application and tests results are presented too.

This paper describes one part of our Biotelemetric System. This part is hardware platform from preprocessing of ECG signal. In order to real time visualization of ECG data, we need measure and process real data from ECG device. This paper discuses main possibilities to solve this problem. First possibility is using of commercial devices, such as embedded PCs, PDAs and wireless ECG unit BlueECG communicating via bluetooth. Suggests major problems and disadvantages of their use and offers possible solutions. This possibility is construction of our own purpose-built equipment. Advantages of our own equipment are its low power consumption and collaboration with mobile devices with limited computing capabilities. In the end we describe the real-time response time of packet parsing problem.
