The new generation of super slender high-rise buildings first appeared in New York City. Due to inner-city concentration, it has become desirable to construct slender high-rise buildings, something which poses significant challenges in dealing with the susceptibility of such structures to the dynamic wind excitation. In this paper, innovative adaptable connections integrated with electromagnetic (EM) devices replace the conventional fixed connections between the main structure and its facades. Therefore, the wind excitation that previously acted directly on the main structure will be transmitted to the main structure through the adaptable facade so that the vibration of main structure can be reduced. Simultaneously, the vibrational kinetic energy of the moving facade will be partly transduced to electricity by EM devices. This concept will be parametrically investigated in the frequency domain using a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) system under harmonic excitation to find the most influential parameters for its vibration reduction and energy harvesting performance. The result shows that the vibration of main structure can be effectively reduced but it also brings the excessive facade vibration. For practical considerations, the excessive facade vibrational amplitude needs to be restricted within a certain range. Increasing the facade mass ratio and facade damping ratio can reduce facade vibration. However, for energy harvesting, the more severe the facade vibrates, the more energy can be possibly harvested. It has been mathematically strict proved that the maximum power point occurs when electrical damping ratio is equal to mechanical damping ratio. The distribution of power flow can be effectively improved by optimizing the configuration of Distributed Generators (DGs) and Shunt Capacitors (SCs). Proper placements and capacities of DGs or SCs for real power loss minimization at the radial distribution network (RDN) is attracting more attention as people become more and more dependent on electric power resources. In order to overcome the slow convergence and poor effect of intelligent algorithms in this problem, Particle Swarm Optimization with Orientation and Shrinking factor (PSO-OS) is proposed in this paper. In the suggested PSO-OS algorithm, sensitivity analysis sort of distribution network is introduced to guide the direction of variation to simplify the search space, and shrinking factor is introduced to balance search capabilities in various RDN systems. The proposed method is applied to IEEE-33, IEEE-69 and IEEE-119 systems to solve the problem of simultaneous allocation of DGs and SCs. Simulation results show that the energy loss of the system is reduced and the stability is improved after reconfiguration. By repeating the experiment independently with the traditional PSO algorithm, the comparative analysis of the results proves the superior performance of the improved algorithm. By comparing with the results in recent literature, it reveals the effectiveness of the proposed PSO-OS algorithm in finding the optimal position and capacity of DGs and SCs in the distribution network. © 2021. A wheelchair is a specialized form of Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV) designed to help people with disabilities move safely to their desired locations. Unlike conventional PMVs, wheelchairs for people with disabilities are challenging to manually control in environments with heavy traffic. This study focuses on designing and feasibility testing of control systems for PMVs to meet safety and efficiency standards, even in complex environments. First, a control structure model for PMVs is proposed. This is followed by the application of a combination of First In First Out (FIFO) and Dijkstra traffic control methods to determine effective trajectories for PMVs. The proposed control system is then tested on the campus of the University of Transport and Communications. Simulation results show that when comparing the travel time of 10 PMVs, the order execution time for each PMV remains stable (within 10%) for up to 20 PMVs. However, when the number of PMVs increases to 25, 30, 35, and 40 vehicles, the order execution time increases by 35%, 55%, 103%, and 119%, respectively. These results demonstrate that the system can control a large number of PMVs, ensuring safety, flexibility, and efficiency. © 2024 Budapest University of technology and Economics. With the development of information technology, the scale of the network continues to expand, and the security issues continue to increase. The complexity of the network security situation is increasing and the importance of the network security situational awareness continues to increase. The data sources are wide, the type and the number are large in a large-scale network environment currently. This paper comprehensively studies the network security situational awareness technology based on multi-source heterogeneous data. In addition, this paper introduces the origin, concept and the model of the network situational awareness, as well as the characteristics of network security situational awareness based on multi-source heterogeneous data fusion. Finally, the key technologies in the security situational awareness such as the extraction of situational elements, multi-source data fusion, situation assessment, situation prediction and visual display are introduced. © 2020 ACM.

A Bayesian Nash equilibrium-based moving target defense against stealthy sensor attacks

We present a moving target defense strategy to reduce the impact of stealthy sensor attacks on feedback systems. The defender periodically and randomly switches between thresholds from a discrete set to increase the uncertainty for the attacker and make stealthy attacks detectable. However, the defender does not know the exact goal of the attacker but only the prior of the possible attacker goals. Here, we model one period with a constant threshold as a Bayesian game and use the Bayesian Nash equilibrium concept to find the distribution for the choice of the threshold in that period, which takes the defender's uncertainty about the attacker into account. To obtain the equilibrium distribution, the defender minimizes its cost consisting of the cost for false alarms and the cost induced by the attack. We present a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a moving target defense and formulate a linear program to determine the moving target defense. Furthermore, we present a closed-form solution for the special case when the defender knows the attacker's goals. The results are numerically evaluated on a four-tank process. This paper is concerned with the problem of fault-tolerant estimation in cyber-physical systems. In cyber-physical systems, such as critical infrastructures, networked embedded sensors are widely used for monitoring and can be exploited by an adversary to deceive the control center by modifying measured values. The deception is modeled as a bias;i.e., there is a misalignment between the objective functions of the control center and the adversarial sensor. Different from previous studies, a Stackelberg equilibrium of a cheap talk setup is adapted to the attacker-defender game setting for the first time. That is, the defender (control center), as a receiver, is the leader, and the attacker (adversarial sensor), as a transmitter, is the follower. The equilibrium strategies and the associated costs are characterized for uniformly distributed variables and quadratic objective functions, and an analysis on the uniqueness of the equilibrium is provided. It is shown that the attacker and defender costs at the equilibrium are increasing with the bias and decreasing with the number of quantization levels. Our results surprisingly show that, under certain conditions, the attacker prefers a public bias rather than a private one.

With the rapid development of network technology, billions of industrial control systems (ICSs) and the Internet of Things (IoTs) have been equipped with network communication functions. This brings many network security issues while realizing data intercommunication and sharing. In particular, the massive amount of data and the heterogeneous nature of the data have brought huge challenges to the design of an effective intrusion detection system (IDS). In order to clarify the impact of distinct features on anomaly detection, this paper conducts a series of experiments based on the maximum correlation minimum redundancy (MRMR) feature selection algorithm and the support vector machine (SVM) classification method. By comparing the experimental results of UNSW-NB15 data set and MSU data set, traditional data set and industrial data set, it can be seen that different features have different effects on anomaly detection. To be precise, there are both coupling and independence between different features. In particular, industrial data sets based on the Modbus protocol (MSU) have higher redundancy and independence. In other words, we can select more effective data features as attributes of anomaly detection in designing industrial IDS, which can improve the detection accuracy while reducing the detection time.

In recent years, scholars have conducted in-depth researches on the robustness, structural vulnerability, and detection and identification of devices in cyberspace from different perspectives such as complex networks and cyberspace resource mapping. Aiming at the problem of identifying important nodes on a large-scale Internet, a CETCRank algorithm for identifying important Internet nodes based on unsupervised learning is proposed. When the algorithm analyzes the attributes of each cyberspace equipment, it not only considers the graph structure characteristics based on the network topology, but also integrates the threat metric of cyberspace equipment. Based on the hypothesis of the cyber attack model, the effective identification of important nodes in the Internet can be realized by integrating the node attributes into the constructed Markov chain model. Experiments show that the time and space complexity of the CETCRank algorithm is suitable for analyzing large-scale Internet, and the recognition performance of important nodes is better than the PageRank algorithm.
