Gejayan intersection is located in Sleman Regency of Yogyakarta. Fly Over will be constructed at the intersection in the ring road of Yogyakarta. The nearest intersection to the east is Gejayan Intersection with a distance of 1573.11 meters. Gejayan intersection performance in 2018 has reached saturation by having Level of Service E. The more severe conditions will occur in the next 10-20 years. If it is planned using Fly Over on the ring road in Yogyakarta connecting Gejayan intersection, the vehicles flow must have other alternative by road widening. The most important step is to predict the Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC). After the Fly Over operation, VOC can be calculated to determine the cost saving. The scenario to predict VOC was 80% of vehicle volume would pass the Fly Over, and the 20% would still use the existing road. The results showed that the cost saving of Vehicle Operating Costs (VOC) of the existing road compared to the fly over use in 2019 was IDR 37,941,324,952. In 2039 the saving would be IDR 240,232,694,488. If the road was only widened, the cost saving of VOC in 2019 would be IDR 9,084,204923 and in 2039 would be IDR 72,107,188,198. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Mandai, a traditional fermented delicacy, is produced from the inner peel of the cempedak fruit (Artocarpus champeden). This unique food is a culinary heritage of the Banjar ethnic group residing in Kalimantan, and is part of Indonesia’s rich collection of traditional fermented foods. This study aimed to analyze mandai by examining its fermentation processes and chemical and nutritional composition. It also discusses the potential and prospects of mandai development in the future. Through a narrative literature review, this study synthesized insights into mandai, emphasizing its significance as a functional food with rich antioxidant and probiotic properties. This review also shows that processing mandai through starter-induced fermentation can improve its quality and standards. This study serves as an important foundation for future mandai research by emphasizing the functional benefits and processing methods of mandai. © The Author(s) 2025.

Access to healthcare facilities is crucial in the present day. Healthcare facilities must be proportional to the population in a given area. Therefore, it is important to increase the number of healthcare facilities in regions where there is an imbalance. Proper planning and a sustainability review are necessary when determining locations for healthcare facilities. Environmental changes can affect the suitability of a location in the future. Thus, planning that can predict future suitability conditions is required to ensure that the built locations have high sustainability. This study predicts the suitability of healthcare facility locations in 2030 in West Java using remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS). Both static and dynamic data processed at 30×30 meter intervals across West Java will be used. Geospatial and remote sensing data are utilized in the study. Dynamic parameter extrapolation uses data from 2000 to 2018. The random forest machine learning method is employed to obtain the suitability values for healthcare facility locations using existing health facility training data in West Java. The results show changes in the suitability classes of healthcare facilities in each region from 2018 to 2030, with some areas experiencing an increase or decrease in class. This research highlights consistently suitable locations, ensuring their sustainability as healthcare facility sites. © 2024

This bibliometric study examines publications spanning from 1995 to 2023 on biobased materials for food-packaging (BMFP), often proposed as alternatives to petroleum-based on FP. The number of articles related to this topic exhibited an annual growth rate (AGR) of 105.7% from 2019 to 2023 compared to 1995 to 2018, indicating a growing interest in this field over the past 28 years, with 2082 articles published in high-impact journals. Notably, countries such as China, India, and Brazil demonstrate significant scientific output per capita, with influential groups based in institutions from Malaysia and Spain (Universiti Putra Malaysia, IATA, and CSIC). Among over 4,000 key-words, those with high co-occurrence were analyzed to identify crucial research areas and current knowledge gaps. Using the SC database, 1,233 articles from 2019 to 2023 were selected to explore the research landscape and key areas of interest within BMFP. Temporal keyword analysis revealed emerging themes, including active food packaging (AFP) and its antimicrobial capabilities, nanotechnology and composites in FP, biodegradability and edible-films, biopolymers for food-packaging, and pectin-based active packaging materials. Thus, eco-friendly food packaging solutions based on nanoparticles and polysaccharides show prospects for development or contribution to advancements. Consequently, the use of AFP demonstrates a prosperous trend for the food packaging-industry in the future. © 2025 The Author(s)

The importance of the K-Medoid model in viewing disaster-prone areas in each sub-district in North Aceh. The advantage of the k-medoid model results is that it has better cluster centers than other models. The novelty of this research is the cluster results are assessed by each decision maker using the Borda group model in providing flood disaster assistance or areas that are a priority for handling, which are included in the flood-prone cluster. Therefore, this research is important because it can be used to identify areas most severely affected by flooding. This research aims to analyze and identify the impact of flood hazards based on grouping and decision-making using the Borda group model in each sub-district in North Aceh. The results of the k-medoids model show 3 clusters that can see potential areas for flood disasters, namely very vulnerable. There are six sub-districts. For the k-medoids results, ten sub-districts are vulnerable. Lastly, the safe zones are 11 sub-districts. This research's k-medoid model analysis is more precise in seeing clusters of places that are potentially affected by flooding based on spatial maps of their nearest neighboring areas. The percentage of each cluster is as follows: Cluster 1 is 4%, Cluster 2 is 55%, and Cluster 3 is 41%. The k-medoid model provided this result after three iterations, with a closeness difference of 1.594510537. The results of the Borda model group research can be used as a recommendation for the areas that receive the highest priority in disaster management. © 2023 IEEE.

This study presents an investigation of chemical and physical characterization, green process analysis, techno-economic considerations, and carbon emissions for synthesizing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) from plastic and can waste using microwave-assisted synthesis. The microwave-assisted synthesis proves to be more cost-effective, with a reduction in CO₂ emissions by up to 80%. The synthesized material (MIL-Mw-U) demonstrates excellent performance in methylene blue (MB) removal, achieving 98.41% removal, with 97.87% removal although the catalyst is used in the third cycle. The adsorption of methylene blue (MB) onto MIL-Mw-U achieved a maximum capacity of 295.26 mgg⁻¹ at pH 3 and decreased to 258.68 mgg⁻¹ at pH 11 due to OH⁻ competition. The Langmuir isotherm (R² = 0.9381) and pseudo-second-order kinetics (R² = 0.999) confirmed monolayer chemisorption as the dominant mechanism. This innovative approach supports circular economy principles by converting can and plastic bottle waste into functional material for dye removal, offering sustainable solutions for environmental challenges. © 2025 The Authors

This research focuses on the study of biocomposite nanoparticles of Eleocharis dulcis (ED) as potentials biosorbent to reduce the concentration of lead (II) ion containing Sasirangan textile industry wastewater. Eleocharis dulcis, locally named as Purun Tikus, has been developing becomes the biocomposites nanomaterial and valuables material in this research. Batch experiments were carried out to considering the kinetic of biosorption of lead onto the adsorbent, evaluating the effects of lead ion equilibrium concentration, equilibrium pH, and temperature on the adsorption of lead (II). Kinetic data of lead (II) biosorption onto EDB and EDB-MH revealed that equilibrium time was reached within 2 h, and the isotherm data showed that the Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of the EDB-M and EDB-MH at pHe of 6±0.2, room temperature were 150.43 mg/g and 180.92 mg/g, respectively. The thermodynamic of lead (II) biosorption onto the adsorbent implied the biosorption was spontaneous and endothermic indicating by increased in temperature would increased in adsorption capacity. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2018.

The combined effect of hydrocolloid addition and microwave heating on the structural, physical and functional properties of cassava starch remains underexplored, despite individual studies on these modification methods. The dielectric properties, important for the microwave treatment of starch, have received little attention in recent studies. Cassava starch with and without addition of hydrocolloids (guar and xanthan gums) was modified by microwave heating for two different exposure times, and its structural, functional, and dielectric properties were studied. The dual modification enhanced the swelling power and oil holding capacity of the starch, reduced its gelatinization temperature, and did not alter its crystallinity. Notably, xanthan-modified starch microwaved for 6 min exhibited higher color variation (ΔE*) and increased granules agglomeration, while the microwave treatment alone roughened the surface of the starch granules. The mean diameters D[4,3] of starch increased with xanthan gum addition, microwave treatment (6 min), and their combination. The relative permittivity (ε’), loss factor (ε”) and penetration depth (D_p) were lower for samples modified by the combined method. Considering the type of hydrocolloid and the microwave exposure time, the combined modification significantly influenced the properties of starch, offering a promising approach to producing starch with enhanced functional properties. © 2024 KeAi Communications Co., Ltd

This study investigates the bioactive potential of the peptide DGIFVLNY (DY-8), derived from the rhizomes of Zingiber cassumunar, a medically important plant with extensive traditional medicinal functions and bioactivities, for its potential application in bio-based cosmetic and personal care products. The findings based on molecular docking reveal the ability of this peptide to bind to the active tyrosinase site, with inhibitory effects. To investigate this inhibitory process further, the peptides were synthesized for testing. The findings presented the inhibition of tyrosinase with an IC50 value of 0.18 ± 0.01 μg/mL for the mono-phenolase activity, rising to 0.81 ± 0.06 μg/mL for the di-phenolase activity. Construction of a Lineweaver-Burk plot revealed competitive type inhibition. The peptide was employed at various concentrations in the range of 0–100 μM in order to treat B16F10 cells. The outcome revealed the absence of significant cytotoxicity. The peptide was shown to significantly inhibit tyrosinase activity and by extension reduce the production of melanin. Further examination of the inhibition of melanin synthesis was carried out via qRT-PCR (quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction) involving MITF (microphthalmia-associated transcription factor), TYR (tyrosinase), TRP-1 (tyrosinase-related protein-1), and TRP-2 (tyrosinase-related protein-2). The in vivo efficacy of DY-8 was further validated in zebrafish embryos, where a significant reduction in pigmentation was observed. These findings highlight DY-8 as a promising, sustainable, and natural bio-based ingredient for the cosmetic and personal care industries, emphasizing the industrial potential of Zingiber cassumunar in developing functional skincare products. © 2025 The Authors

Central government role in road infrastructure development and economic growth in the form of future study: the case of Indonesia

Road infrastructure development in a country has been considered an important predictor of economic development and prosperity. Hence applying a systematic analysis approach, this study aims to project the future role of the central government in developing road infrastructure and its significance in the country's economic growth. The main data sources were the literature review and expert opinions in the form of self-administrative surveys and interviews. Besides, the Cross-impact Direct Influence (CDI) matrix was applied to formulate the questionnaire. For the data analysis purpose, MICMAC analysis and Scenario Wizard software were used. The MICMAC analysis results revealed the dominant role of 9 important/key variables in developing the Indonesian road infrastructure. Simultaneously 24 positive states of the important variables what identified via the Scenario-Wizard Method. Findings also depicted stronger consistency among the four scenarios. Whereas Scenario 1 showed the most ideal 9 key features related to Indonesia’s road infrastructure developments with a high intensity of concentrating the efforts on planning road infrastructure development in big cities and use of smart and modern technology. Moreover, presenting a group of constructs for developing road infrastructure and resultant economic growth in the country, the current study adds value to the existing literature. © 2023, The Author(s).
