Soil improvement using geotextiles non-woven with a case history: Road construction in oilfield area

In Oil and Gas industry, especially onshore operation, access to reach the oil/gas well and other surface production facilities is one of important aspects. The demands for access road in this industry is very high. The technical solution is needed to make the road construction fast and low cost. This paper will conduct a study about the application of Geotextiles Non-Woven to improve soil condition (subgrade) through comparing the pre to the post treatment data. The existing soil is categorized as silty clay with soft consistency based on available visual hand bor report and it is compared to CBR test after the construction finished. Geotextile non-woven specification is also discussed through several laboratory tests. This paper will summarize the process of road construction in Klamono, Papua to obtain illustration how geotextile is applied according to available technical standard which is applied in Indonesia. The standard design will be compared to the real construction which is displayed in as built drawing. Construction method is also mentioned to aim an illustration how the treatment was conducted on site. Finally, it is advised that future research will investigate the comparison of road maintenance between the one use geotextile and not.

Mahkota Dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa L.) or Simalakama plants are native plants from Papua. The Mahkota Dewa fruit can be used to treat various diseases ranging from flu, rheumatism, lungs, cirrhosis of the liver to cancer. The Mahkota Dewa fruit contains alkaloids, saponins, and flavonoids. The presence of flavonoids in the fruit of this plant can be used as an antioxidant. One of the innovations in the use of this fruit is m turn fruit into syrup. Syrup manufacturing process has several stages, namely by choosing the fruit that is ripe and dried first. The Mahkota Dewa syrup from Tazakka in Pledokan Village, Sumowono Subdistrict still uses direct sunlight during the drying process. This study aims to determine the bacterial content of the dried fruit of the Mahkota Dewa with the sun and dry with the oven so that producers can still use the oven aids if the results are not much different. The test site is located in Peldokan Village, Sumowono District, Central Java Medical Laboratory and Medical Devices Testing and Diponegoro University Semarang. The materials and tools used are the mature Mahkota Dewa, tray, oven, dried fruit Mahkota Dewa and oven, the crown god syrup sample, and laboratory equipment. Bacterial testing uses the TPC (Total Plate Count) and Fungus Yeast methods. Based on the results of the bacteriological test analysis of the dried fruit Mahkota Dewa it is known that the number of general germs or TPC and Fungus Yeast in oven dried fruit is more than that of the sun dried which is 1.8 10 5 CFU / gram and 3.9 10 4 CFU / gram. The proximate content of the Mahkota Dewa syrup is 1.43% protein, 0.09% fat, 70.16% carbohydrate, 28.18% water content and 0.14% ash content. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Elbow angle estimation for medical rehabilitation device based on EMG sensor with ARIMAX method

In the development of medical rehabilitation tools, muscle signals or electromyographic (EMG) are often used as feedback from the body in order to facilitate normal movement patterns. Through this signal, the force, torque, and angle can be estimated to produce the desired movement in the robot to assist patients in rehabilitation therapy. There had been various research done on estimating the extremities' joint angle, including the system identification method with Auto-Regressive Integrated Moving Average with Exogenous Input (ARIMAX) model structure. This research aims to model biceps brachii's EMG signal and the elbow joint angle using the ARIMAX model structure. In modeling, the order of the model was selected using the methods of minimizing the AIC (Akaike Information Criteria) and RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) values. The reported results showed the comparison of the outcome and model orders from three data sets with a frequency sampling of 47.6690 Hz, l66.3248 Hz, and 935.6743 Hz, respectively. The frequency sampling of l66.3248 Hz results showed the best accuracy performance of the ARIMAX model structure. The model order which is selected based on the minimization of the RMSE value obtained the best estimate, while the order models were selected based on the minimization of the AIC value showed a more consistent performance on the data estimation and validation.

The Bali Province Government plans the development of Bali Cultural Centre as a comprehensive cultural information centre to support the development of Culture-oriented Bali Tourism. The Bali Cultural Centre site is situated in an area of post-mining remnants in Klungkung Regency. The sites located at coordinates 8°32'41.35' - 8°34'30.94' South Latitude and 115°24'54.92' - 115°26'6.99' East Longitude. This site is also portion of estuary area of the Unda River which has a high potential for the danger of cold lava flood from the Mount Agung eruption. The structure to manage cold lava floods at the Unda River estuary is being conducted. The construction is divided into two locations which design to satisfactory a 50-year design flood with discharge of 1436.11 m3 per second. The first location is at upstream (north side of Prof. Ida Bagus Mantra Street) using a single rectangular cross section. The second location is at downstream (south area of Prof. Ida Bagus Mantra Street) using a combine double rectangular cross section. These two types of cross sections are designed to accommodate the capacity of water discharge under normal conditions and still able to drain water discharge in the 50-year return period. The presence of this channel allows the cold lava flood flow directly towards the sea-shore and so as to reduce the risk. It is possible that the sediments settle at the base of the channel, therefore, channel shape normalization and periodic dredging for maintenance are essential.

A study on Durability for Rigid Pavement Against Acid Environment and Displacement Model

An acidic environment commonly found in peat soils or expansive soil will harm the quality of rigid pavement by considering its use at long-life plan, traffic load, and minimization of damage to the crossroad due to vehicle braking. As a concrete provider, chemical admixture as mixed materials today is widely used with the reasons of workability, initial strength, as well as saving of material used. This research aimed to find out the durability of concrete admixture using sika-NN and plastocrete (retarding and water reducing admixture) at the acid environment and knowing the displacement that occurred using ABAQUS software modeling. It used the laboratory experimental method and the cube concrete sample 15×15×15 cm with the compressive strength of 33.2 MPa. A total of 18 concrete samples were immersed using normal pH water and H2SO4 at pH 1 ± 1 tested at 3, 7, 14, 28, 60, and 90 days using the Duplo method. In this research, the concrete durability was carried out using, Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity Test (UPVT) to test the density, compressive test, and modeling concrete displacement on peat soils with vehicle loads in acidic environments using software ABAQUS. The mixed design results show an average setting time value of about 112 minutes. Coarse aggregate and cement decrease due to additives is approximately 24% and 18% respectively, increasing the use of fine aggregate to 16.49%, but the value of concrete density increases base on soaking time. Besides that, there is a decrease in compressive strength up to 16% at the age of 90 days. The value of displacement in the modelled pavement uses a maximum load of 8 tons each 2.994 mm for concrete with normal water and 3.045 mm for concrete with an acid environment respectively. Concrete soaked in acid water is the greatest deformation that occurred in rigid pavement using ABAQUS and indicates that acid water has an impact on decreasing concrete quality.

Quantum tunneling phenomenon allows a high-barrier reaction to occur even though thermal energy is not sufficient to surmount the barrier. The phenomenon has been suggested to exist in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene which occured at 11 K. Here we study the quantum tunneling that occured in the isomerization of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde and to vinyl alcohol based on density functional calculations. The isomerization pathways are determined under the effect of various solvents which are modeled by polarizable continuum model (PCM). We use Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin (WKB) approximation to calculate the tunneling probability (T) and extend the usefulness of T into isomerization rate. The results show that the solvents give a significant effect on the isomerization rate of methylhydroxycarbene to acetaldehyde but an insignificant one on the isomerization rate to vinyl alcohol. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. The number of Islamic boarding school teaching both Information Technology (IT) Education and Religious Education is still limited. Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah located in Tambakberas, Jombang, East Java is a school having both subjects taught. The existence of Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah has not been widely known by outside and inside society of Jombang Regency. Therefore, Therefore, analysis of the use of SEO is necessary to determine the potential of website visit and school promotion. Previously, Vocational High School of Information Technology Annajiyah promoted school by using brochures only. This method was considered able to introduce the school through traditional way. Analysis result of improving SEO can be seen in Google Analytic recorded a number of site visits amounted 403 in June, where 82.2% of active users are dominated by mobile phone users and fluctuation of the number of visits. This increase is affected by both the implementation of SEO and online PPDB process during the COVID pandemic.

Uncontrolled urban expansion resulting from urbanization has a disastrous impact on agricultural land. This situation is being experienced by the densely populated and fertile island Java in Indonesia. Remote sensing technologies have developed rapidly in recent years, including the creation of Google Earth Engine (GEE). Intensity analysis (IA) is increasingly being used to systematically and substantially analyze land-use/land-cover (LULC) change. As yet, however, no study of land conversion from agriculture to urban areas in Indonesia has adopted GEE and IA approaches simultaneously. Therefore, this study aims to monitor urban penetration to agricultural land in the north coastal region of West Java Province by applying both methods to two time intervals: 2003-2013 and 2013-2020. Landsat data and a robust random forest (RF) classifier available in GEE were chosen for producing LULC maps. Monitoring LULC change using GEE and IA has demonstrated reliable findings. The overall accuracy of Landsat image classification results for 2003, 2013, and 2020 were 88%, 87%, and 88%, respectively. IA outputs at interval levels for all categories showed that the annual change-of-area rate was higher during 2013-2020 than during 2003-2013. At the category level, IA results showed that the area of agricultural land experienced net losses in both periods, with net loss in 2013-2020 being 2.3 times greater than that in 2003-2013 (∼1,850 ha per year). In contrast, the built-up area made net gains in both periods, reaching almost twice as much in the second period as in the first (∼2,030 ha per year). The transition-level IA performed proved that agricultural land had been the primary target for the expansion of built-up areas. The most extensive spatial distribution of land conversion from agriculture to built-up area was concentrated in the regencies of Bekasi, Karawang, and Cirebon. Fuel motor is a machine that converts chemical energy into mechanical energy. In the design of this approach, we look for a gas converter model in accordance with its capacity according to the volume of the cylinder used, where the thing that needs to be considered is the performance of the gas converter itself, namely from the art form/model, fuel efficiency and large pressure settings. gas supply that enters the combustion chamber. The GX270 general motor is a fuel motor engine used as a test tool. The design was carried out at the STT Muhamadyah Cielungsi mechanical engineering energy conversion laboratory. To understand the variables that affect performance, in making this converter, things that need to be considered are variations in rotation and variations in load. From the design of the gas converter, the results of the design calculation are as follows: T torque = 19.12 (Nm), effective power Ne = 5.003066667 (kW), average effective pressure Pe = 889.4340741 (kPa), total usage hourly fuel mf = 0.0675 (kG / hour), specific fuel consumption Be = 0.013491725 (kg / kN.m), fuel ratio with air F / A = 0.13781, ideal air mass flow rate mv = 0,0,001138242 (m3 / s), volumetric efficiency 843,30666 (%) and thermal efficiency 15,78 (%), the greater the engine rotation used, the more fuel level will be consumed, as well with effective engine power. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Development of Human Machine Interface (HMI) Training Kit as A Learning Media for Industrial Automation engineering Practical Courses

Learning media is one of the learning tools that is needed so that the learning process can run smoothly and students can have competencies in accordance with the expected competency goals. This paper discusses: (1) developing a Human Machine Interface (HMI) training kit as a learning medium in the Industrial Automation engineering Practical Course; (2) the performance of the HMI training kit; (3) the feasibility of the HMI training kit based on the assessment of media experts, material experts and student responses as training kit users. In developing this training kit using the ADDIE model which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Data collection was carried out by testing the performance of the media, and giving a questionnaire to media experts to assess the feasibility of the media aspect, a material expert questionnaire to assess the appropriateness of the material and a questionnaire to determine student responses as users. The data were analyzed by means of quantitative descriptive analysis which were then categorized. The result of this development is HMI practice learning media for industrial automation engineering practice courses which consist of HMI practice hardware, and jobsheets. The performance of the HMI training kit for input and output parameters, visualization of engine control in the form of buttons, sliders, output visualization, indicator lights, and overall graphics have a 100% correct performance. Based on media experts, design aspects, technical aspects and usefulness aspects were rated very well, so that overall the media aspect received an assessment in the very proper category Based on material experts, technical aspects and aspects of usefullness received an assessment in the very good category, so that overall the material aspect received an assessment in the very proper category. Based on assesment of students as users, the average score student response falls into the very good category.
