The development of an engaging demonstration video for making shredded chicken

The research aims at developing a learning video to make shredded chicken and testing its feasibility. This video demonstrates the steps of product making. This research can be categorized as research and development (R&D) with a 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The video was taken with multiple camera angles and completed with text annotation, picture, animation, music, and voice lay-over. The were collected through interviews and questionnaires for feasibility testing. The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The stage of define was a needs analysis, while the design stage consisted of testing recipes, scriptwriting, selection of presenters, talents, dubber, and the video team and preparing tools and materials. The develop stage covered the process of shooting, recording, editing, and feasibility test by two material experts and a media expert. Meanwhile, the disseminate stage referred to the feasibility test among 30 students of State Vocational High School 1 Cangkringan, and the video dissemination was done through the YouTube channel. The feasibility test result based on the material experts was 90.96%, based on the media expert was 98.96%, and from the students was 85.35%, respectively. It means that this video is declared very suitable to be used as a learning medium.

Solenoids have been made with square and triangular cross-sections. Both kinds of solenoids are made with an iron core and without an iron core. The solenoids specification were 12 cm long and 3.5 cm wide with 220 windings and 900 windings. The iron core specification was 12.5 cm long and 8 mm diameter. The induction voltages both of solenoids have calculated with experiments method in the laboratory. Calculation of induction voltages with the experiment method used the motor as the magnetic drive, full-wave rectifier circuit, neodym magnet, and led lamp. Induction voltage and electric current obtained of each solenoid for range from two cm until ten cm. The closest distance between the solenoid with the motor as magnetic drive and the greater the number of solenoid windings produced the greater the induction voltages. Triangular-sided solenoids with 220 windings produced faster induction voltages than the square-sided solenoid for the same number of windings. While an iron core solenoids produced faster induction voltages than solenoid without an iron core. © 2019 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Drilled wells water level data recording system for irrigation of rainfed rice using Arduino and pressure sensor

The use of groundwater is one of the alternatives used to increase productivity in rainfed rice fields. Various researches and technologies have been developed to suppress the negative effects of overuse of groundwater. One important parameter is the change in the water level around the well during the pumping process, which is observed through the observation well. For that, we need an instrument to measure changes in water level in real-time. This instrument was developed using the HDL 300 submersible liquid level sensor, which utilizes pressure changes from the water level. To connect the sensor with the Arduino Uno microcontroller module using the HW685 Module. The calibration results show that the linearity of the change in the sensor value to the change in the water level reaches 99% following the equation y = 86.297x + 73.522.

A conjugated semiconductor thin film of 1-((3-(3-(3,5-diphenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)methyl)-4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole [4ph-TAzole]TF was synthesized. The characterization of the obtained [4ph-TAzole]TF powder is carried out using different techniques includes FTIR, UV-Vis, 1HNMR, XRD, and mass spectra. The fabricated [4ph-TAzole]TF thin film with a thickness of 150 ± 3 nm is manufactured by physical vapor deposition technique (PVD) at a low deposition rate with basic pressure of the chamber was 5×10−5 mbar. Using DFT-TDDFT simulation, the structure measurements can determine the energy gap and optical properties. The obtained DFT-TDDFT data provide good proof for the electronic transition in zero-dimensional [4ph-TAzole]TF as a single crystal molecule. This study provides valuable information on the nature and sources of defect formation and electronic transition in conductor organic derivate of triazole which open the way for the application as an optoelectronic device. Application Davis’s and Shilliday’s equation on [4ph-TAzole]TF mentioned that the EgDirand EgInd transitions can be computed by plotting (αhν)2 and (αhν)0.5 versus hν nearby the value of fundamental band edge ((αhν)2 and (αhν)0.5 parts) in the computed Abs. (λ) curves to zero absorption value, respectively. The direct and indirect energies were 2.651eV and 3.01 eV for [4ph-TAzole]TF, respectively. The obtained thin film presents a promising result to be a good candidate for organic derivate of triazole solar cell applications. © 2021, CC BY.

Developing learning video of making mango sorbet for agriculture product processing course

Generation Z uses technology frequently and demands learning that is individualized, engaging, digital, and visually based. They prefer learning videos to learn about the product making process. The research objectives were to develop the video of making mango sorbet for the Agriculture Product Processing course and evaluate the feasibility of the video. This was a research & development (R&D) study using 4D models (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The video was captured using Sony NX100 camera and Kino Flo 6-bank lighting. The presenter and voice-over dubber's sound were recorded using Boya BY WM8 wireless microphone. The video was edited by Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2017. The video had a duration of 14 minutes 29 seconds with mp4 format. The video consisted of the opening section, the content section, and the closing section. The opening and closing section were delivered by the presenter. The content section was demonstrated by an actress and voice-over dubber. The video feasibility was evaluated by 2 material experts, a media expert, and 30 students of Vocational High School (VHS) 1 Cangkringan. The data were analysed descriptively. According to the feasibility evaluation, the making mango sorbet video was considered to be very feasible to be utilized as a learning media.

The design of micro-perforated panel (MPP) on noise case of APU GTCP 331-350 airbus A330 aircraft

In general, noise is a problem and it can be found everywhere, including at the aero activity such as aircraft maintenance vicinity. The object of the noise case selected in this study is the Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) which is the part of Airbus A330 aircraft with the APU type GTCP 331-350. The noise of APU while operate during maintenance can affect the occupational health and safety conditions of the worker. In this study, a micro-perforated panel (MPP) is used to absorb or reduce the sound intensity. MPP is made of a thin flat material where in this research using acrylic and placing small holes on its surface. Both experimental and numerical method are used in this research. The first step in performing the MPP design is numerically to obtain the geometry according to the absorption coefficient target at the specified noise frequency. For the experimental or testing phase of finished MPP design, a tool called an impedance tube is used. The test procedure refers to the ISO 10534-2 or ASTM E 1050-90 document. There are two types of impedance tube, first in diameter of 10 mm and the second one in 3 cm. The 10 mm impedance tube has the frequency range from low to medium frequency while the 3 mm for the high frequency testing. The absorption coefficient prediction value from numerically MPP design for the targeted frequency of 695 Hz gets 0.8819 versus the actual value after test in impedance tube is 0.8875. Furthermore, the highest absorption coefficient value for design or prediction and actual testing lies at the exact frequency of 750 Hz where for predictions has 0.95 and 1 for actual testing. Based on these results it can be concluded that MPP has the potency to reduce the APU noise. Henceforth it will be interesting to apply the MPP technology directly to the APU compartment on aircraft.

Developing an engaging whiteboard animation video for vitamins

Whiteboard animation videos are engaging learning media for Generation Z. This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of a whiteboard animation video for vitamin in the Nutrition Science subject for class X culinary vocational school. This study was research and development using a 4D approach (define, design, develop, disseminate). The define stage analyzed the curriculum, material, student character, learning media, and school facilities. The design stage included the writing and assessing the material, the writing and assessing of storyboards, and production team selection. The develop stage was making a video and assessing the feasibility. Animation images were created using Paint Tool Sai. Image conversion from JPEG to SVG was performed with Inkscape. The dubber's voice was recorded with Universal Audio using the Apollo Twin audio interface and Avantone CV12 microphone. The audio was edited in Pro Tools 2020.9. To produce a whiteboard animation video, animation images, captions, dubber's voice, and back sound were combined with VideoScribe. Videos used mpg format. In order to maintain video duration below 10 minutes, the video was divided into two parts. The assessment of video feasibility was carried out by one media expert and two content experts. The assessment of feasibility at the disseminate stage was carried out to 30 users. Based on the feasibility assessment, this video was very suitable to be applied as a learning medium.

A study of Eye Lens Radiation Dose Reduction During Head CT Scan Examination

BackgroundHead CT is the most frequently performed examination in every hospital in Indonesia. Considering of the large radiation dose of head CT produces and eye which is one of the most sensitive organs, radioprotection is should be done for every patient of head CT. The aim of this study is to determine the radiation dose of eye lens during head CT compared to the dose limit value determined by ICRP No. 87 of 2000 and provides recommendations for examination protocols that prioritize radiation protection in order to reducing eye lens radiation dose. MethodsRadiation dose measurement of eye lens were performed on 10 patient samples using two different scanograms for every 5 patients. The first five patients had a scanogram parallel to the Orbitomeatal line (OML) and the other 5 patients had a scanogram parallel to the Supraorbitomeatal line (SOML). Radiation dose measurement is done by placing the Thermoluminescent Dosimeter 100-chip on one of the patient's eyelid surfaces. The results of the radiation dose measurements are presented and compared with the standard dose CT scan according to ICRP No. 87 2000. ResultsThe research showed that the procedure using scanogram parallel to OML get eye lens radiation dose 53.889 mGy, 50.729 mGy, 60.407 mGy, 70.952 mGy, 70.952 mGy and the other procedure which is using scanogram parallel to SOML get eye lens radiation dose 7.265 mGy, 6.944 mGy, 8.747 mGy, 6.411 mGy, 6.944 mGy. ConclusionThe procedure using scanogram parallel to the OML produces a higher dose of eye lens and it exceeds the standard head CT eye lens dose according to ICRP No. 87 of 2000. While the another procedure using scanogram parallel to SOML produces a lower radiation dose. Head CT is advised to use a scanogram parallel to SOML to reduce the eye lens radiation dose.

Recently, it was found that the case of knee injuries could reach a prevalence of 48 per 1000 peoples in one year, with 9% being categorized as Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. The most common cause of ACL injuries is sports activities. Several strategies were used to heal this injury, such as a treatment, up to autographs bone graft surgery. Current research developments lead to the use of artificial ligaments to heal the ACL injuries which have many advantages over autografts. Thus, this present study aims to fabricate the artificial ligament using hydroxyapatite (HA)/collagen/polycaprolactone (PCL) nanofiber composites. Here, we try to determine the effect of variations of HA, collagen, and PCL compositions in the nanofiber composites by studying their crystal structure and mechanical properties (tensile strength). We use variations of PCL: HA: collagen compositions about of 50:45:5, 50:40:10, 50:35:15, 50:30:20, and 50:25:25 wt%, respectively, in the 10% w/v of solution concentrations. In this present research, the nanofiber was fabricated by using electrospinning method with a voltage of 23 kV, while, the distance between the needle and the collector of about of 15 cm. The XRD and tensile strength tests were used to study the effects of PCL: HA: collagen compositions. In the XRD test, we found that the PCL peaks were detected at 2θ = 21° and 23° and HA was found at 2θ = 31°. The PCL crystal size is found to be 47.82-86.87 nm and the degree of crystallinity is 24.31-36.87%. In the mechanical test, the Ultimate Tensile Strength (UTS) value was obtained in the range of 0.942 MPa-2.864 MPa. It was found that the PCL could increase the tensile strength. However, the obtained UTS value is still far from the UTS of the original human ACL value.

Product quality improvement model considering quality investment in rework policies and supply chain profit sharing

The aim of this paper is to develop an optimization model for quality improvement by considering quality investment in rework policies and supply chain profit sharing. To improve product’s quality, the decision of process target and its tolerance is important since it directly affects the defective rate, manufacturing cost, and loss to customer due to the deviation of product from its specification. In this research, two rework policies are considered. In the first policy, the rework is done by using the same manufacturing facility, while in the second policy a new process facility was added for rework. Quality improvement in the supply chain environment is also necessary. Hence, profit sharing system is added in the model to strengthen the commitment of the suppliers in improving component quality. In the system, the manufacturer shares the profits to the supplier if the supplier can meet or exceed the quality target specified by the manufacturer. A comparison is given to determine the best quality improvement policy between those two policies considering profit sharing system. From the results of the optimization, the managers can make economic investment decision economically to correct a defective product through cost optimization model and to choose the best option toward the goal of least unit production cost. By using this model, the decision-maker can evaluate any quality investment in order to achieve significant financial return. © 2019, The Author(s).
