This research is motivated by the development of education in the 21st-century, which demands students to master the 4C skills (creative thinking, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication), particularly in the field of physics. The nature of physics learning requires active and interactive teaching methods that can be implemented through project-based activities for students. One effective instructional media is the student worksheet designed based on STEM-PjBL (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics project-based learning) principles. This research aims to assess the suitability of STEM-PjBL student worksheets as a learning media, which can serve as a recommendation to assist teachers in teaching renewable energy topics. This study uses the ADDIE model to adopt the Research and Development (R&D) method. This research results in a STEM-PjBL student worksheet as a physics learning media to understand renewable energy topics. The STEM-PjBL student worksheet is expected to assist students in mastering 21st-century skills effectively. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a part of the practical courses in educational institutions. This research was aimed at investigating: (1) students' knowledge of OSH used in practical courses, (2) students' attitudes toward OSH, and (3) the implementation of OSH in practical courses in the Electronics engineering Education study program, faculty of engineering, Yogyakarta State University. It is a non-experimental study employing a quantitative descriptive approach. This study was conducted in the Electronics engineering Education study program, faculty of engineering, Yogyakarta State University from February to June 2018. The subject of this study included students, lecturers, and technicians. Students' knowledge of OSH in practical courses in the Electronics study program is good (74.2%). Their attitudes toward OSH are also good (92.2%). Although some students do not implement OSH procedures when conducting practical courses, the implementation of OSH in the study program is categorized good (63.3%). Furthermore, more intensive studies on the importance OSH implementation in practical courses needs to done. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The challenge of distributing climacteric fruit is quality assurance due to the long-distance and perishability nature of the fruit. While monitoring transportation conditions is common, little research has developed a prediction model of fruit quality affected by transportation conditions. The presented study designs a quality monitoring system for mango's long-distance supply chain by integrating the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine learning. The system modeling utilizes Business Process Model and Notation and a Use Case Diagram based on requirement analysis. The design of IoT architecture addresses the needs of the supply chain actors to monitor the transportation process and predict the final quality of mango upon arrival. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) predicts mango grade classification upon arrival. The dataset consists of initial (harvest) maturity level and transportation conditions as predictor variables and mango final grade as the target variable. The accuracy of the prediction model reaches more than 95%. The verification and validation of the system with traceability technique on the user's requirements confirm the fulfillment of each requirement's input, tasks, and output. This conceptual design presents IoT and machine learning as promising solutions to quality assurance problems in the global fresh produce supply chain. © 2022 IEEE.

Hydrogels is a unique material that affordable to apply as a membranes layer. In tropical country, such as Indonesia there is easily found water hyacinth (a weed plant) which is potentially used for hydrogels materials fabrication due to high cellulose content. Carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) from water hyacinth cellulose and banana peels pectin are used to produce hydrogel for ultrafiltration membrane. The aims of this study are to characterize the functionalization of CMC-pectin membrane with different ratio using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and to determines the morphology of its membranes structure. The CMC was synthesized from water hyacinth stems through carboxymethylation. The functionalization group of multiple CMC-pectin membrane ratio is domination with carboxyl group (COO-), carbonyl stretching and carbon group. Meanwhile, CMC-pectin 70:30 wt% ratio displays not smooth structure. There is a water hyacinth stems extracted cellulose fibre on the surface of hydrogel CMC:pectin membrane. In other hand, the addition of pectin in all ratio variation exhibit increasing contact angle number from 63.98° to 68.16° (0-30 wt% pectin). The existence of pectin from banana peels on hydrogel membranes contributes to increase hydrophobicity of hydrogel-membrane, in spite of the contact angle value is below than 90°. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are bioelectrochemical instruments that exploit living microbes as biocatalysts for the conversion of chemical energy stored in the bonds of substrates into electrical energy. Monitoring of current or voltage generation in microbial fuel cells at rigid time intervals is noteworthy. Unfortunately, bioelectrochemical studies are often constrained due to the need for expensive and precise devices for electrochemical measurements. Utilization of low-cost microcontroller as monitoring system can be a considerable solution, compared with data logger that is a high-cost device, or compared with commercial multimeter that have to be used manually in collecting data. In this present work, microbial fuel cells electricity generation was successfully online monitored and the voltage data was also successfully collected using an ESP32 based-data logger. Statistically, there was no significant difference between ESP32 and multimeter in voltage reading, and the average of absolute and relative error values were 0.85 mV and 2.72%, respectively. It suggested that ESP32 could be a possible and low-cost monitoring system for microbial fuel cells bioelectricity generation. Additionally, ADS1115 (an external analogue to digital converter interface to ESP32) has up to four analogue channels, whereas multimeter has just one. In this research, microbial fuel cell powered by isolate KCf1 generated highest voltage value of 789 mV and power density of 541 mW m⁻². © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Iranian Society of Environmentalists (IRSEN) and Science and Research Branch, Islamic Azad University 2023.

A novel double-coating technique was employed to encapsulate levofloxacin (LVF), a potent antibacterial drug, using the particles from gas-saturated solutions (PGSS) process to achieve extended release. The primary coating utilized glyceryl tristearate (GT), a lipid with a high melting point (72 °C), followed by a secondary coating with trimyristin (TM), a lipid with a lower melting point (52 °C). For comparison, a single-coating approach was also explored, using the biocompatible polymer poly-(ε-caprolactone) (PCL). The resulting particles were characterized for their shape, size, and LVF encapsulation efficiency, with confirmation of LVF entrapment provided by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and X‐ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis. The particles, with an average diameter of 95.3 ± 16.5 μm, exhibited an encapsulation efficiency of up to 92.1 ± 2.5%. Furthermore, in vitro release studies revealed that the double-coated microcapsules effectively suppressed the initial burst release and provided controlled, extended release of LVF (t30D = 36.3%), demonstrating the efficiency of this encapsulation method for prolonged drug delivery.

Artificial intelligence was recently implemented in various fields. One of these applied artificial intelligence systems was the Performance Monitoring System “SiMoniK” for MSMEs. This system was designed through the C4.5 algorithm and the Porat-Rank method. The C4.5 algorithm was applied to classify the MSMEs into three classifications, e.g. the micro enterprise classification, the small enterprise classification, and the medium enterprise classification. Moreover, the Porat-Rank method was also applied to distribute the solving-problem recommendations and to improve the independence of MSMEs. The result of this study was that the C4.5 algorithm could classify the MSME data correctly in the form of an accuracy value of 99.2%. Besides, the Porat-Rank method could also provide recommendations in the form of outstanding quality with an NDCG mean value of 0.87.

Optoelectronic, mechanical, and thermoelectric characteristics of the material halide perovskite RbBeX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) are theoretically investigated in the current work. The structural and elastic properties of mentioned materials are examined using the generalized gradient approximation (PBEsol), whereas electronic and thermoelectric properties are better understood using the modified Becke-Johnson (mBJ) functional technique. Born Criteria along with energy of formation have been examined for stability of all of these halide perovskite variations. The elastic constants of the cubic symmetry are investigated to ascertain anisotropy, Debye temperatures, and the distinction between brittle and ductile nature. Based on the mBJ potential, the bandgaps for RbBeCl3, RbBeBr3, and RbBeI3 are 3.8 eV, 2.1 eV, and 0.45 eV, respectively. To confirm the optical properties inside the visible region, all of these halide perovskites are further analyzed for their properties such as absorption, refractive index, and dielectric constants in the energy range 0–14eV. Furthermore, because of their lower values thermal conductivity, larger values of Seebeck coefficient, and Figure of merit (ZT), these halide perovskites are also suitable candidates for thermoelectric applications. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

The Semarang City Government has issued a Mayor Regulation on Green Buildings since 2019. Since then the construction of buildings with a certain floor area in Semarang City must follow this regulation. Evaluating implementation constraints related to green building construction based on the experience of the development actors, is an important thing to do. This study aims to identify obstacles in realizing green buildings in the city of Semarang. Data collection was carried out through a questionnaire survey of respondents from development actors involved in green buildings such as contractors, consultants and project owners and bureaucratic officials related to green building licensing. Data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis to reach agreement between respondents. Next, a hierarchy of these constraints will be sought. Constraints found in realizing green buildings are: lack of socialization from the city government, alternative materials, lack of best practices, experts, and financing. For this reason, a strategy is needed to overcome these obstacles from every aspect or based on a combined consideration of all aspects. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
