The Government of the Republic of Indonesia states that the thermal energy for hot-mixed asphalt production shall be supplied by the direct combustion of fossil fuels in the form of diesel oil,natural gas,or fuel gas from coal gasification which may generate GHG *** are able to substitute the fossil fuels through gasification *** converts the biomass using limited air into gaseous fuel containing mainly CO and H_(2) that are subsequently combusted to produce heat,carbon dioxide,and *** is obvious that the CO_(2) is then absorbed by the plants for photosynthesis,main-taining a balanced closed *** study examines the level of global warming potential of this system for supplying heat based on the openLCA v1.9 *** analysis used a gate-to-gate approach to evaluate scenarios of shell gasification to produce 1 metric tonne of hot-mixed *** scope covers raw material supply and transportation,palm kernel shell gasification,and *** evaluation concludes that gasification could potentially reduce CO_(2) *** impact analysis and interpretation of the results using the openLCA database of Traci 2.1 recommend that greater CO_(2) emis-sion reduction is possible using palm kernel shell gasification,not only for supplying heat but also for electricity generation to operate all electrical equipments.

The objective of this study was to determine the determinants between Community-Based Total Sanitation and the incidence of diarrhea in toddler at communities near rivers. This study used a quantitative approach with cross sectional design. The sample consisted of 76 mothers who have toddler with the sampling technique by accidental sampling. Primary data obtained directly from interviews using questionnaires and direct observation to respondents. The independent variable was Community-Based Total Sanitation which includes the behavior of open defecation, drinking water and food management, household waste management, and household waste water management. The results showed that only household wastewater management was significant with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers (p value 0,0000;OR 5,2), while, open defecation (p value 0.118), drinking water and household food management (p value 1,000), household waste management (p value 0,979) was not related to the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. Toddlers in households with poor wastewater treatment were 5,2 times more likely to have diarrhea. The conclusion is household wastewater management was significant with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers, so that innovative efforts are needed so that the community improves their waste management. This is useful for preventing the occurrence of diarrhea in toddlers. © 2022

Lampung Province is one of the regions with the highest cocoa production, but many factors can interfere with cocoa production. One of them is the factor of pests and diseases of cocoa that cannot be identified and prevented beforehand. An expert system is a system that adopts expert knowledge or experts in a particular field. However, the diagnosis usually contains uncertainty in the form of answers and statements used. Certainty Factor (CF) algorithm, is one of the algorithms that is able to overcome uncertainty by providing a value for the level of trust from experts and users. However, because the CF value is based on the level of confidence in the symptoms experienced by the user, it creates a problem, namely the consistency of the user's answers. So, it is necessary to make improvements to the CF algorithm, to overcome the inconsistency of user answers through the use of Consistency Ratio (CR). Through the use of CR, inconsistencies are overcome through comparisons between the consistency index and the random index. Based on the results of the accuracy test, the proposed model is able to produce an accuracy rate of 86.67% in the diagnosis of pests and diseases on cocoa plants. © 2022 IEEE.

The problems and challenges for the government in seeing disease growth trend patterns are very important. This research focuses on infectious diseases, namely Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), while non-communicable illnesses focus on epilepsy and thalassemia in 2023-2024. The priority in this research is that the Health Service can take action to prevent disease distribution patterns that are seen based on the results of identifying patterns and trends using the fuzzy c-means model and mapping for each region. The research methodology includes collecting patient data, inputted by recorded medical data consisting of sub-district data and the number of incidents. The research results of the Fuzzy C-means model in analyzing infectious disease trend patterns show 3 clusters. The first cluster of vulnerable areas has four sub-districts: Sawang, Syamtalira Bayu, Dewantara and Muara Batu. Then, the second cluster still consists of 18 sub-districts. Finally, the safe cluster consists of 8 sub-districts. Meanwhile, the results of the ward model research showed that there were 2 clusters, namely vulnerable consisting of 19 sub-districts and safe eight sub-districts, which were then included in the spatial map. Meanwhile, analysis of non-communicable disease patterns using fuzzy c-means, namely thalassemia and epilepsy in cluster C1 (High) in 4 and 7 sub-districts, medium cluster in 9 and 7, and low cluster in 14 and 16 sub-districts. Therefore, this research can provide an important picture for the Health Service in analyzing trends in cluster patterns of growth of infectious and non-communicable diseases in children.

In recent years, there has been an increasing research interest regarding the development of superhydrophobic coating for various purposes with tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) as the source of silica. Unfortunately, TEOS is hazardous as an alkoxide and need long step as well as time consuming to synthesize it. Typically, previous researches using fluoroalkylsilane (FOK) as the surface modification agent is containing fluoro compound which is not safety to use. This paper is aimed to develop a cost-effective and environmental-friendly superhydrophobic coating by utilizing bamboo leaf silica. This work was particularly conducted to develop the method of purification of bamboo leaf ash as the source of silica to produce superhydrophobic coating material. This method could be an effective and efficient way of preparing a superhydrophobic coating using silica bamboo leaf with eco-friendly solvent exchange agents. This observation used n-hexane, cyclohexane, isooctane as a solvent exchange, and trimethylchlorosilane (TMCS) as a surface modification agent which is not containing fluoro component. The initial bamboo leaf silica and purified silica were examined using XRD, BET, XRF, and SEM EDX Mapping to obtain essential information such as structure, porosity, purity, and surface topography. Also, the coated zinc plat with different solvents was assessed hydrophobicity by contact angle measurement and surface morphology by SEM. The efficient and effective formulation of the superhydrophobic coating was attained by applying n-hexane solvent, 13 %-v/v TMCS, 1.75 %-w/v of bamboo leaf silica was the highest of contact angle. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Challenging body shaming with grading techniques in the fashion industry

Body shaming remains a prevalent concern in the fashion business, as conventional beauty standards sometimes exclude persons with varied body shapes. This study investigates the effect of pattern grading and motif grading approaches on reducing body shaming, particularly in the context of batik shirt production. The research highlights how various grading systems improve garment fit and cater to a broader range of body shapes, thereby challenging body shaming and promoting body inclusivity. The research examines the impact of grading methods on tailors' engagement, skill level, and self-assurance, showing that these methods enhance garment quality and empower industry professionals. This study employed a mixed-method approach, combining the creation of graded batik shirt prototypes with quantitative analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The research indicates that motif grading maintains the traditional validity of batik designs while facilitating size modifications. Tailors expressed strong interest in adopting grading techniques, and the study proposes inclusive design solutions that effectively address body shaming in a traditional manner. The results suggest that integrating grading methodologies into fashion processes can foster a more inclusive and diverse business. Suggestions are offered for fashion designers, educational institutions, and companies to promote the implementation of grading techniques that accommodate body variation. This research identifies future research opportunities, such as incorporating technology in grading and formulating design methods to mitigate body shaming in the fashion industry. © 2025 The Authors

In 2022, there are 1,524 flood events out of a total of 3,531 disasters occurring in Indonesia. East Kalimantan Province ranked 20th among the 35 provinces in Indonesia with 28 flood occurrences in 2022, resulting in two fatalities. This highlights the urgent need for addressing flood hazard to prevent future casualties. There are some methods that can be used to determine the flood hazard in a region. In this research aims to identify flood-prone areas in East Kalimantan Province and evaluate the effectiveness of different mapping methods. The methodology that compares are the Pairwise Comparison method and Geomorphic Flood Index (GFI). The study's results provide flood-prone area maps of East Kalimantan Province using both methods, recommend the more efficient method for flood-prone area identification, and offer mitigation strategies based on the findings. This research is intended to serve as a reference for selecting the best method for identifying flood-prone areas and for informing policy decisions to mitigate flood impacts in East Kalimantan Province. © Author(s) 2025.

The primary objective of this research, utilizing computational fluid dynamics (CFD), is to investigate the specific drying parameters of cannabis by employing an experimental methodology with a vacuum heat pump dryer (VHPD). This method involves an intricate computational analysis of airflow dynamics within the drying chamber and the temperature distribution across multiple layers of the cannabis tray. Latin hypercube sampling techniques were employed to carry out this analytical strategy, resulting in a set of 20 paired values for pressure and temperature variables within the ranges of 20–40 kPa and 30-45 °C, respectively. As a result of the CFD investigation, three specific pairs of pressure and temperature conditions were observed: 20.2 kPa at 31.6 °C, 24.5 kPa at 41.5 °C, and 28.5 kPa at 43.9 °C. To validate the simulation results, an experiment was conducted utilizing a VHPD, designed based on insights obtained from thorough CFD analysis. These identified conditions were then integrated into the experimental setup, offering valuable insights for VHPD design in both theoretical exploration and practical engineering applications. Furthermore, the experimental conditions were carefully established to intentionally reduce the cannabis moisture content to 12% db, with specified values of 20.30 kPa and 32 °C. © 2024, The Authors. In this research, the ability of papaya tree trunks as nanocellulose adsorbent for dyes removal was conducted. The synthesis of nanocellulose is carried out in several steps, including isolation of cellulose using the extraction method, immersion with a variety of alkaline bases, namely KOH, KOH+NH3, and KOH+Na2CO3 and synthesis of nanocellulose by hydrolysis reaction. The adsorption process was carried out in batch method, by contacting the nanocellulose adsorbent with the dye, then filtered and observed the change in concentration using UV-Vis. Meanwhile, to observe the functional groups contained in the nanocellulose obtained from synthesis of papaya tree stems FTIR result was evaluated. The results showed that all cellulose-forming groups (CO, CH2, CH) were present in synthesis nanocellulose in accordance with those of the commercial. The synthesis results with variations in the alkaline base which the closest to commercial yield was the variation with the alkaline KOH base. In addition, determination of adsorption performance of ones is compared with performance of commercial nanocellulose. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
