The features present in large datasets significantly affect the performance of machine learning models. Redundant and irrelevant features will be rejected and cause a decrease in machine learning model performance. This paper proposes HyFeS-ROS-ANN: Hybrid Feature Selection and Resampling combination method for binary classification using artificial neural network multilayer perceptron (MLP). The first stage of this approach is to use a combination of two feature selection methods to select essential features that are highly correlated with model performance. The second stage of this approach is to use a combination of resampling methods to handle unbalanced data classes. Both approaches are applied to the academic performance classification model using the MLP neural network. This research dataset is obtained using three-dimensional (3D) frameworks such as the Big Five Personality to determine the Personality that affects academic performance from the student dimension, the Family Influence Scale (FIS), which measures factors that affect academic performance from the family dimension, and Higher Education Institutions Service Quality (HEISQUAL) to measure service quality and its influence on academic performance from the Education institution dimension. Previous research shows that the CoR-ANN algorithm has a model accuracy rate of 94%. The research results based on the dataset show that our proposed method can improve accuracy by selecting more relevant and essential features in improving model performance. The results show that the features are reduced from 135 to 108, while the HyFS-ROS-ANN model for binary classification accuracy increases to 100%. © 2023, Brno University of Technology. Looking forward to the abovementioned conditions, this research is needed to elaborate on the effects of the reclamation to the marine resources in Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Port Terminal as the reclaimed product. In order to describe the impact of the port development, this study will analyze the shoreline changing, the current pattern modeling, as well as the Total Suspended Solid (TSS) modeling using the remote sensing data. The several numbers of expected objectives through this study are to get the set of scientific information on the shoreline changing in Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Port Terminal in the year of 2012 and 2020, to get the figure of current pattern in Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Port Terminal in the year of 2012 and 2020, and to elaborate TSS concentration through the modeling approach in Teluk Lamong Multipurpose Port Terminal in the year of 2012 and 2020. Hence, there is a set of methodologies and tools to cooperate with the information before and after the reclamation. The use of the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) software to analyze coastline conditions. The using of Mike 21 to analyze the current pattern and TSS concentrations. In addition to the TSS analysis, it will also need a set of remote sensing data from the Google Earth Engine (GEE). The modeling and calculation give information about the End Point Rate (EPR) values and TSS values. The EPR values are 107.5 m/year, 59,625 m/year and 10,375 m / year. The TSS values are 0-20 mg/L, 20.1-40 mg/L, 40.1-80 mg/L, 80.1-120 mg/L and >120.1 mg/L. Moreover, the result shows the different values among the length of coastline, the current pattern, and TTS in the years 2012 and 2020. The difference in the coastline reaches 950 m at this latest 8 years. While it also brings the changing to the current pattern and sediment transport which show through its current velocity and sediment content per liter of seawater during high and low tide accordingly. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing

The pandemic has brought many negative impacts on human life. One of the negative impacts is economic downturn of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) actors in Bangka Belitung Province. To solve this problem, a website-based marketplace platform called Yobagi was created. As we know, a new software product must have a good user experience. By having a good user experience means that the product has met the needs of its users. For this reason, an evaluation of the user experience is necessary. This study aims to measure the user experience of using Yobagi. The evaluation uses the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) tool, which consists of six scales: Attractiveness, Efficiency, Perspicuity, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty. There were 40 respondents who were taken from the top of MSME actors. As the UX evaluation results, it is known that the final score of the six scales is above 0.8 and at the excellent level. This means that Yobagi users have a very good user experience in using Yobagi. In addition, Yobagi has met the criteria for good software by having an excellent user experience value.

Indonesia central government policy in managing national level energy plans must be succeeded by the government at the provincial level. Every province has to make its energy planning projection until 2050. This study aims to study the potential of biogas at provincial level. The method taken for this research is based on secondary data that refers to documents issued by the Department of Mines and Energy, data from the Department of Food Security and Livestock of North Sumatra Province as well as data from the Indonesia Statistic Bereau. These data are used as a basis for calculating the biogas energy potential of livestock. This research is limited to biogas particularly biogas from cow/buffalo for household hold energy necessity/cooking. The calculation results show that the biogas potential in 2050 is 1,178 TOE, meanwhile the projection data issued by the Department of Mines and Energy of the Province of North Sumatra in the first projection, namely business as usual (BAU) is 12 TOE and the second projection, namely the Regional Energy General Plan (RUED) is 55 TOE. Based on the result it can be recommended that biogas potential from livestock has to be utilised as much as possible for household energy necessity/cooking. It is reasonable because the result show the value reported by the Department of Mining and Energy BAU 12 TOE and RUED 55 TOE is far from the value resulted from this study where 1,178 TOE. © 2021 IEEE.

Coffee shells are one of the potential renewable materials used in the pyrolysis process to produce bio-oil. However, the amount of phenolic compounds, which is roughly 36.74%, is one of the primary drawbacks of using coffee shell bio-oil as a fuel source. Only a little amount of research has been done on the mass transfer modeling and phenomena of phenol extraction from coffee shell bio-oil. The objectives of this study are to identify the best extraction circumstances, ascertain the empirical correlation of total mass transfer, and produce the empirical correlation of Sherwood number, which can be used to characterize the role of variables in this mass transfer process. The ratio of impeller diameter to tank diameter and the Sherwood number, as well as Reynolds, Schmidt, Weber, dispersed phase holdup, were studied as dimensionless numbers. This study used liquid-liquid extraction process at the temperature of 50 °C, with chloroform-methanol 80% as a solvent with ratio of 2:1 v/v and use bio-oil to solvent ratio of 1:1 v/v. The extraction time has an interval of 30 min (20, 50, 80, 110 min), with varied impeller diameter (3.5 cm and 4 cm), vessels diameter (9 cm and 10 cm) and mixing speed (250 rpm, 300 rpm, 350 rpm). According to the findings, the greatest phenol yield was obtained at impeller diameter 3.5 cm, tank diameter 9 cm, and mixing speed 300 rpm, with a distribution coefficient of 0.848. The results demonstrate that the maximum overall mass transfer coefficient is 4.096 × 10-4 m/s and that the liquid diffusivity is 1.7965 × 10-9 m2/s. The equation model from this study could be applied to a liquid-liquid extraction process that is scaled up to extract more phenolic compounds from the the produced bio-oil. © 2023 Elsevier Ltd. Investigating the influence of methanol:chloroform:water solvent ratios on the extraction process of tocotrienols from rice bran oil

Tocotrienols, belonging to the vitamin E family, exhibit neuroprotective, antioxidant, anticancer, and cholesterol-lowering attributes. A significant reservoir of tocotrienols is found within rice bran. Notably, rice bran oil stands as one of the most abundant vegetable oils in terms of tocotrienol content. This study aims to amplify tocotrienol levels in rice bran oil by fermenting rice bran with the fungus Aspergillus terreus, and by modulating the solvent ratio of methanol:chloroform:water during the extraction process. The research involves a comprehensive approach that encompasses solid-state fermentation of rice bran, succeeded by rice bran oil extraction utilizing the Bligh-Dyer method. This extracted oil is subsequently analyzed using UV spectrophotometry and GC/MS to ascertain tocotrienol levels within the rice bran oil. Findings from the study highlight an optimum solvent ratio of methanol:chloroform:water at 1:1.5:0.9 (v/v/v). Through this optimal configuration, the tocotrienol concentration escalates from 2541.44 ppm to 3642.79 ppm. Furthermore, the introduction of fermentation leads to a rise in tocotrienol levels within the extracted rice bran oil, ascending from 2541.44 ppm to 3257.66 ppm. The resultant rice bran oil extract also presents an array of antioxidant compounds, including n-hexadecanoic acid, benzoic acid, and chlorogenic acid. This collective insight underscores the potential for enhancing tocotrienol levels in rice bran oil through controlled fermentation and strategic solvent ratio adjustments, thereby enriching its potential health benefits.

Almost all farmers are unaware that rice straw and paunch manure are potential feedstocks for bioethanol besides organic fertilizer, biochar, and biogas. Farmers' perceptions regarding the multiattributes of bioethanol development are still underestimated, indicating that farmers are still indecisive about the potential use of rice straw and paunch manure as feedstock for bioethanol. They still need extension and training to improve their knowledge. Digital image processing aims to improve the quality of an original image so that it can display an image that is relatively better than the original image, so as to obtain the detailed information needed for an analysis need. Quality degradation Biomedical images in computerization usually experience changes in brightness, blur, and contrast stretching. Because of the deterioration in the image quality, doctors and patients cannot obtain the information needed for analysis, therefore the need for biomedical image processing techniques with spatial domain methods to improve the quality and details of information in the image so that it helps doctors in diagnosing. Data analysis is biomedical images like X-ray images, CT-Scan (Computer Tomographic Scan) images, and USG (Ultrasound Graphic) images. A focused study on improving image quality can be done with digital spatial domain image processing techniques. Digital domain image processing is digital image processing based on the manipulation of pixel values in the image directly, in the form of point processing and mask processing. Process testing for each image for Blur level is CT-scan images with a value of 0.98436, ultrasound images with a value of 0.9875, X-ray images with a value of 0.9836. This value is blur level value get near to 1 which means the image becomes clearer. The analysis results prove that the spatial domain method can clarify the object image in this study. The biomedical image quality processing model is proven to be able to improve the quality of the image that is declining due to the digitization process and assist the user in analyzing the biomedical image. © 2021 IEEE.

This study evaluates bacterial cellulose (BC) membranes reinforced with zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NP) derived from pineapple biowaste. While BC membranes are widely studied, their use in aquaculture and ZnO reinforcement remains underexplored. Membranes were synthesized with 0.25–1.0 wt% ZnO-NP and characterized by SEM, XRD, FTIR, tensile strength, antibacterial activity, filtration efficacy, and analysis using one-way ANOVA. Results showed ZnO-NP enhanced membrane crystallinity and tensile strength, with 0.25 wt% being optimal. The membranes exhibited improved antibacterial activity, reducing bacterial content by 90.6 % and contaminants by 57 %, enhancing water quality for aquaculture and supporting sustainability and the long-term viability of aquaculture. © 2025

Good air quality is very important in human health. However, air pollution has been polluted everywhere, whether in the house, in cities. This is caused by a growing industry that produces air pollution. Room air pollution and various cities will contribute to air pollution, which will cause problems for human health. This work measures the carbon monoxide level using the MQ-7 sensor and measures the air's carbon dioxide level with the CCS811 sensor and MH-Z19 sensor. All three sensors are connected to the NodeMCU ESPS266, and we call it a NodeMCU module. Tests are carried out in three rooms in the house, and then three NodeMCU modules are used so that the three modules will send data alternately. Raspberry Pi3 (RPi3) functions as a server that collects data and acquires information data from sensors. Data from the CCS811 (TCOV) sensor, MH-Z19 (co2), will be processed first with fuzzy logic rules to make decisions about CO2, which are right, moderate, nasty conditions. The process is carried out on the Raspberry Pi 3 server with MQTT using publication, customer, fuzzy logic, and broker services. The value of the sensor's measurement results can be accessed via a smartphone and provides good air control values. © 2021 IEEE.
