Thermal comfort relation to air temperature data characteristics in Ternate

The amount of heat transferred within a building defines its level of comfort. The data’s conformance to the SNI (Indonesian National Standard) thermal comfort zone can be utilized as a reference for the outside air temperature data’s features. This study aims to provide an overview of the idiosyncrasies associated with data on outside air temperature in the Ternate region. Daily, weekly, and monthly intervals of 30 minutes are used to group the data. Additionally, the mean value, standard deviation, data volume, maximum value, and minimum air temperature value are tabulated. The graphic illustration comprises a polynomial equation line generated from the average value and the data correlation coefficient value of the resulting equation (R). The data illustrate the characteristics of air temperature in 2021, with April having the highest maximum and January having the lowest minimum.

Education about health sciences has historically been limited in the curriculum of health professionals and largely inaccessible to the public. In practice, most of the health science education is still running conventionally. Supposedly with the advancement of technology and the use of the internet everywhere, learning such as e-learning can be important, especially in the health sector. Until this research was conducted, only 514 academic documents about e-learning in health sciences were found for 20 years from 2001 to 2020, obtained in searching on the Scopus database. This study presents a comprehensive overview of studies related to E-learning in the Health Sciences sector. This study uses bibliometric analysis and indexed digital methods to map scientific publications throughout the world. This research employs the Scopus database to gather information, as well as the Scopus online analysis tool and Vosviewer to show the bibliometric network. The method consists with five stages: determining search keywords, initial search results, refinement of search results, initial compilation, and data analysis. Among the most published and indexed articles by Scopus, papers published by researchers in the United States have the highest number of publications (80), followed by United Kingdom (63) and Australia with 45 academic publications. The processed data shows the pattern and trend of increasing the number of international publications in E-learning in Health Sciences field, which Scopus index.

Precise force measurement is critical to probe biological events and physics processes, spanning from molecular motor’s motion to the Casimir effect, as well as the detection of gravitational waves. Yet, despite extensive technological developments, the three-dimensional nanoscale measurement of weak forces in aqueous solutions still faces major challenges. Techniques that rely on optically trapped nanoprobes are of significant potential but are beset with limitations, including probe heating induced by high trapping power, undetectable scattering signals and localization errors. Here we report the measurement of the long-distance interaction force in aqueous solutions with a minimum detected force value of 108.2 ± 510.0 attonewton. To achieve this, we develop a super-resolved photonic force microscope based on optically trapped lanthanide-doped nanoparticles coupled with nanoscale three-dimensional tracking-based force sensing. The tracking method leverages neural-network-empowered super-resolution localization, where the position of the force probe is extracted from the optical-astigmatism-modified point spread function. We achieve a force sensitivity down to 1.8 fN Hz–1/2, which approaches the nanoscale thermal limit. We experimentally measure electrophoresis forces acting on single nanoparticles as well as the surface-induced interaction force on a single nanoparticle. This work opens the avenue of nanoscale thermally limited force sensing and offers new opportunities for detecting sub-femtonewton forces over long distances and biomechanical forces at the single-molecule ***-resolved photonic force microscopy employs the fluorescence of lanthanide-doped nanoparticles as a force probe, enabling the measurement of sub-femtonewton forces with a sensitivity of 1.8 fN Hz–1/2, approaching the thermal limit.

Jagakarsa is an urban area in South Jakarta, Indonesia, that uses groundwater for raw water because there are no clean water supply facilities. The significant increase in the need for clean water due to increasing urbanization threatens groundwater availability to maintain the balance of the surrounding environment. Natural conditions with a deep layer of clay and a dense built environment further increase runoff capacity because water has difficulty seeping into the soil. The intense extraction of groundwater without balancing groundwater recharge results in land subsidence. Until now, there has been no research on this issue. Thus, our research is necessary. This research aims to assess the potential of groundwater infiltration areas in Jagakarsa. Due to limited data, as a first step, we used a qualitative model with MCDM analysis (AHP and MIF methods) integrated with GIS to map potential groundwater recharge areas. The AHP method is explained in detail with a matrix system formula, readers can understand the calculation steps more easily. This study uses five influencing factors: geological formation, land use, slope, rainfall, and soil type. The results show that most study locations have low potential (AHP 74.49 % and MIF 75.25 %) for groundwater recharge. This groundwater recharge potential map was validated using groundwater level measurements. The accuracy of the AHP is 74.51 %, and the MIF method reaches 75.26 %. Therefore, further research is needed to obtain appropriate and effective technology for maintaining groundwater availability. © 2024 The Authors

Biosurfactant is produced by a certain microorganism to reduce surface tension. Microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is one of the many applications of biosurfactant. However, the biosurfactant for MEOR needs to be able to withstand the extreme environment of oil reservoirs with high temperature and high salinity. Halomonas meridiana BK-AB4 is a halophilic bacterium obtained from the Bledug Kuwu crater in Central Java, Indonesia. The similarity of both environment condition indicates the potential to produce suitable biosurfactant. This study evaluates the potential of Halomonas meridiana BK-AB4 in producing biosurfactant compared to several bacteria isolated from the crater. The blood agar test of Halomonas meridiana BK-AB4 exhibited greenish discoloration around the colony, indicating the ability of type α-hemolysis. The interfacial tension was measured using the Du Nouy ring method to represent the biosurfactant activity, with the results of 0.014 dyne/cm. These results showed that Halomonas meridiana BK-AB4 has a very good potential for producing biosurfactant for MEOR. The optimum time of the culture starter for production is 6 hours, as determined from the bacterial growth curve. © 2020 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

The development of telematics technology is increasing rapidly and this capability is supported by multimedia devices or even telematics that supports the development of multimedia itself. For instance, in the configuration of telematics with websites to control air traffic with a voice communication system, multimedia applications serve as devices for monitoring the use of this technology. Consider the research trends, this study aims to evaluate the current development and trends of research on telematics and its multimedia applications through bibliometric analysis over the last two decades and a half (1999–2023). Several publication characteristics were analyzed, including the most cited articles in this field. This study uses data from the Scopus database to evaluate the productivity, impact, countries, research institutions, authors, and research performance of journals based on the impact factor, citation counts, and h-index. According to the result, the annual number of publications on this topic fluctuates but tends to increase, with Germany being the most prolific country producing articles in this field. Additionally, the most researched telematics and its multimedia applications and most cited lists offer insight into the future. This is the first study to use bibliometric analysis to evaluate research on telematics and its multimedia applications and is expected to be useful for telematics researchers by identifying potential research directions. In addition, this research serves as a valuable resource for future researchers and practitioners. However, improvements can be made by incorporating additional analysis, such as content analysis.

This study aimed to 1) investigate the concepts of an android-based instrument for assessing performance in Hot Stone Spa course and 2) assess the feasibility of the instrument. This study was conducted based on the ADDIE design (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The feasibility test was carried out by means of questionnaires distributed to experts at educational evaluation, teaching materials, and media. Moreover, another questionnaire was filled out by lecturers and students (users). The subject of this study was Cosmetology students taking the Asian SPA course. The results of this study show that the product feasibility percentage is 88.49, so it is assumed that an android-based assessment instrument is highly feasible to use.

A 3D flower-like structure composed of porous bismuth oxychloride (p-BiOCl) nanosheets was synthesized through a hydrothermal process utilizing Bi(NO₃)₃･5 H₂O, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and LiCl. Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) studies confirmed the successful formation of the p-BiOCl. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were exploited to identify the nanosheet structure. The catalyst appeared as reduced Bi⁰ nanosheets at an applied cathodic potential of − 0.92 V (vs. RHE (reversible hydrogen electrode)). The maintenance of Bi nanosheet structures, controlled by the cationic surfactant of CTAB, resulted in enhanced electrochemical activity with a favorable Tafel slope and lower charge resistance. Defects of under-coordinated Bi sites and oxygen vacancy with interconnected 3D structures possess abundant active sites that further assist the activity. In 1.0 and 2.0 M KHCO₃ electrolytes, the catalyst achieved a maximum current density of − 80 and 100 mA/cm², respectively, at − 0.92 V (vs. RHE) with Faradaic efficiency > 99 % for converting CO₂ to formate in H-cell electrolyzers. The substantial H/D kinetic isotope effect revealed from H₂O versus D₂O electrolytes, and the feature of bicarbonate concentration-dependent performance provided the mechanistic insights that bicarbonate intermediates are in equilibrium with CO₂, activated by water, in the aqueous environment, together with the effects of electrode surface modulated by CTAB, are essential for the efficient electrochemical CO₂ reduction reaction to formate. © 2024 The Authors

Coastal residents have difficulty in fulfilling the needs of clean water due to tidal water and tidal water intrusion. Meanwhile, clean water is a crucial component in carrying out activities of daily life. This initiative aims to provide an alternative solution in the form of technology to treat water polluted by saline water into clean water. This initiative used the method of electrolysis, filtration, and ozonation. Electrolysis has functions to remove salt contained and reduce levels of heavy metals while filtration functions to filter out the impurities in the form of solid particles, and ozonation takes a role to kill bacteria. Moreover, the target output of this work is the creation of a prototype by using this technology as a technology that can treat water polluted by saline water into clean water. The parameters assessed from this initiative are physical, chemical, and biological parameters of clean water. The results of the total test of dissolved solids of water before processing were 7130 ppm while it was 2490 ppm after getting treatment. The decreasing total value of dissolved solids is 65.077%, which indicates that the test was successful. The result of an electrical conductivity test of water before processing is 310 mA while after processing is 88.6 mA. The decrease in the current value of 71.419% indicates that the test was successful. The results of the turbidity test of water before processing are 0 FAU while after getting treatment is 0 FAU. The turbidity value remains 0, which indicates the test was successful. The results of the pH test of water before processing were 5.7 while the result after treatment got 6.1. The increase in pH value towards pH 7 (neutral) indicates that the test was successful. The test results of salt and heavy metals (Fe, Cu, Cl, Na, and Pb) of water before processing were 0.073 ppm, 0.07 ppm, 0.17 ppm, 0.04 ppm, and 4.24 ppm while after processing was 0 ppm, 0 ppm, 0.07 ppm, 0.03 ppm, and 1.36 ppm. Gynura procumbens, also known as Sambung nyawa by Malays, is a traditional herb that can be found in Malaysian forests. Traditional Malays rely on this plant in many ways. The leaves can be eaten raw as a salad, and it is believed to have medicinal effects for humans suffering from cancer, diabetes, and other afflictions. The extraction of G. procumbens has been conducted using various techniques, including supercritical fluid extraction (SFE). The study presents the methodology for an artificial neural network (ANN) model with the intention of predicting the overall yield, Y_T of G. procumbens in supercritical fluid depending on the SFE parameter, namely, water content in ethanol (10–30% v/v), temperature (60–70 °C), and pressure (18–24 MPa). The overall yield from SFE was optimal with a 15.90% wt/wt sample at 30% water content in ethanol, 70 °C and 24 MPa. A three-layer ANN model was generated using the experimental data obtained. The Levenberg–Marquardt back-propagation (LMP) algorithm with a trainlm transfer function was used to predict the Y_T. A total of 1–8 neurons in the hidden layer were trained, and the most suitable network found was with 6 neurons in the hidden layer. The value of the mean square error (MSE) was 0.3011, and the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.9877, showing that the (3-6-1) model is a better option for predicting the Y_T. © 2021 The Authors
