This research aims to help the user monitor their heart’s condition and notify other people in case of an emergency due to an abnormal heartbeat (normal heartbeat around 60-100 beats per minute). From the heart rate graph, the user could do a consultation with an expert in the nearest hospital using a map feature that will show the nearest hospital with a 1 KM radius from the user’s current location. The heart is undeniably an essential part of the human body system. The heart's missions are to pump blood to the lungs to expel the waste carbon dioxide that resulted from the respiration and pump blood that will deliver oxygen throughout the human body's circulation system. While the blood that carries oxygen being pumped throughout the human body, the heart will provide the oxygen to all cells. Body cells need to use oxygen to get the energy from food through a process called cellular respiration. Monitoring our heartbeat and pulse rate can increase people’s awareness about their heart’s health, motivating, and encouraging people to maintain a healthy eating plan and exercise. This research will be implemented ECG Sensor. The sensor will then send the data to the android application via HC-06 Bluetooth module. Monitoring the heart rate and analyzing the user’s heartbeat will be done in the android with a microcontroller device's help. © 2020 IEEE.

One area that is developing in Indonesia is in the area of textile industry. These industries absorb a lot of labor and contribute to the country's foreign exchange but have a negative impact in the form of wastewater produced. The wastewater produced generally contains synthetic dyes such as Reactive Red 2 (RR2). This synthetic coloring material will pollute the environment if it is not well treated first before being discharged into the environment. In this study, RR2 will be used as a pollutant model. RR2 will be treated by several methods. Pollutant concentration is an important parameter in determining the most appropriate treatment method. The purpose of this research was to study the effect of RR2 initial concentration on reducing COD and color using Fenton, Fenton/TiO2, Fenton/UV, and Fenton/TiO2/UV methods. RR2 concentration was varied between 150-300 ppm. As the results, RR2 concentration from 150-300 ppm does not significantly affect the percentage of color degradation. However, at high concentration of 250 and 300 ppm, the percentage of COD degradation decrease by increasing concentration of RR2. When using 150 ppm of RR2, the highest COD and color degradation of 98.8 % and 89.5 %, respectively were achieved by using the Fenton/TiO2/UV methods. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Globalization had increased global economic activity, including production, trade and distribution activities in developing countries, especially in Asia. The increasing of trade traffic and cargo transportation in archipelago country like Indonesia, requires the utilization of sea lanes. This study was aimed to present the suitability of ship design to be passengers transportation in Berau Regency, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The proposed design should be in accordance with the conditions of Berau which has 6 districts crossed by the river which still lack of transportation facilities. This research proposed an optimal ship design that can be used as a reference for renewable ships in Berau waters. This study produced a watershed design analysis concept as part of the reference and boundary dimensions of the ship. The obtained main size of the ship using linear regression method was total length of 12.5 meters, 3 meters wide, 1.5 meters high, and 0.6 meters full of water. Resistance analysis using the Savitsky method showed the engine capacity of 2x150 pk with a service speed of 25 knots. Maximum speed of 30 knots with a distance of 57.32 mill can be reached with 2 hours service speed and 1 hour 40 minutes at a maximum speed of 30 knots with the resistance value 12.8 kN. The total estimated budget for the production of this ship was Rp 1.773.656.800. This design may be adopted as an integrated reference for the procurement of transportation facilities for passenger ships, especially in the Berau river. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Golden snail shell as a chitosan source for modification of membranes based off hydrophobic polymers: Performance of humus acid removal in a crossflow system

Membranes from blending of chitosan with hydrophobic polymers Polyethersulfone (PES) and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) have been prepared, characterized, and evaluated in terms of antifouling properties against humus acid contained in water. The preparation of membrane adapts the common phase inversion technique, whereas the filtration performance test was done by using crossflow set-up. The findings of the work showed that the addition of 5% chitosan into the casting solution increased the permeability of both hydrophobic membranes. The positive outcome from the increased hydrophilicity simultaneously results in a higher pure water flux of the chitosan-blended membranes compared to the original ones. Not only that, the modification also improves the antifouling properties of the membranes which shown from an increase in Flux Recovery Ratio (FRR) of 92% and 88% respectively for PES and PVDF membranes with the addition of 5% chitosan. The obtained results evidenced that golden snail shell is a potential modifier for membrane production.

The need for quick analysis for road pavement survey is inevitable, especially in a developing country. A new data collection method by using small format photo, which is recorded by drone is developed. The function of drone is not only for photographic purposes, but also developed to measure and record road damage. Digital aerial photogrammetric methods are developed faster than before. A small format areal imagery based on pixel size is developed for this study, so that the degree of road damage can be obtained quickly. In order to obtain a maximum pixel size to detect a maximum damage level of 1 cm, the shooting is done at a height of 24 m drone from the road surface. The result of road damage measured by measuring distance through image is then tested based on the measured sample, directly in the field with a trust level of 97.83%. These results show that the accuracy of road damage measurements made above high resolution photo images is very effective for data collection of road damage. Analysis of Condition Priority can be obtained in one day in complement with contour map and road level, while in previous time it is done within a week without contour map and level. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a type of dementia that leads to memory loss and impairment, which afects patients’ lives badly. It is not curable yet, but its progression can be slowed down if detected at earlier stages. In this research study, we propose a transfer learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) model to classify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into one of four stages of Alzheimer's disease. One of the major limitations of the deep learning-based classification model is the non-availability of healthcare datasets related to AD. The widely used Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset has a major class imbalance issue. We propose a generative adversarial network (GAN) based data augmentation technique to overcome the data imbalance. This promotes the investigation of applying GANs to generate synthetic samples for minority classes in Alzheimer's disease datasets to enhance classification performance. The results show the progression in the overall classification process of AD.

The best solution to the problems caused by fossil fuels and the limitations of renewable energy sources is the conversion of hydrogen into energy in fuel cells. The transportation and storage problems, which are the main obstacles to the conversion of hydrogen into energy in fuel cells, can be overcome by storing hydrogen in boron compounds. The recovery of hydrogen stored in boron compounds when needed is carried out through catalytic processes. In this study, a supported catalyst was synthesized for use in hydrogen production from sodium borohydride (SBH), which is one of the main boron compounds used in the solid storage of hydrogen, and the dehydrogenation parameters of the synthesized catalyst were investigated. In this context, chenopodium botrys plant extract was used as a support material for nickel (Ni) metal atoms. At the end of the extraction carried out through a hydrothermal process, Ni atoms were decorated using the impregnation method in the extract, and the Ni@KBHE catalyst was produced via reduction under SBH. After the washing, filtration, and drying processes were carried out under a nitrogen atmosphere, the solution medium, catalyst amount, SBH concentration, and temperature parameters of SBH hydrolysis with the crumbled catalyst were optimized. Optimum values for hydrogen production were obtained using 5% NaOH, 60 mg of catalyst, and 2% SBH. The hydrogen production rate (HGR) at these values was 4664 mL/g min. As a result of the catalytic reaction kinetic calculations, it was determined that the reaction was nth order, and the reaction activation energy was 49.4 kJ/mol.

In order to overcome the disadvantages of conventional method, innovations on how to produce coconut oil were applied with the technique of PENDAWA (Pendayagunaan Asam Jawa). Coconut oil comes from coconut milk which is the substance between oil and water (emulsion). So to get coconut oil, acid is needed as an emulgator to break down emulsifying substances. In this case, Tamarind is used because it is cheap, available, contains a lot of antioxidants, and is efficacious. Coconut oil contains medium chain saturated fatty acids, namely MCT (Medium-chain triglycerides) where MCT provides extraordinary health enhancing properties. We compared three types of coconut oil, namely coconut oil in the traditional way, coconut oil with the addition of tamarind, and packaging oil on the market. The result was coconut oil with the Pendawa method very good in quality and quality with FFA 0.0067% and peroxide number of 1.5 mg ek/kg. In conclusion, this oil production with the PENDAWA method is very effective, efficient, high in quality, and provides high profit for the industry that wants to produce it. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The use of deep learning in medical image classification has become an important study in the past few years. The proper use of this method, however, is still hindered by many problems, one of it being the imbalance of dataset available for training which resulted in small-set database. In this study, the effect of noise-based augmentation on the performance of deep learning based classification will be studied. The noises which were used for the augmentation method were Perlin-noise and Gaussian noise. The modality of medical image used in this study is X-ray. 174 X-ray images (87 cancer, 87 normal) were used in this study and will be classified by using transfer learning from previously trained deep learning architecture. The deep learning architecture used was vgg-19. The images were divided into two groups, 138 (69 cancer, 69 normal) images were used for training phase and 36 (18 cancer, 18 normal) were images used for testing phase. Three deep learning models were used for the classification tasks, the first one was retrained to classify the original images, the second one was retrained by using mix of original images and images with Perlin-noise, and the third one was retrained by using mix of original images and images with Gaussian noise. The results showed that the three models returned similar accuracy of 0.8 which indicate that the use of noise-based augmentation can increase the performance of deep learning in classifying medical images with small set training database. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
