This study examines the influence of low-rise structure orientations on tsunami-induced impact force. The particular focus is on low-rise structures since these often make up the majority of building stock in tsunami prone areas and are usually most vulnerable. The meshless method smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is used for simulating the tsunami flow. Multiple cube structures named A, B and C were arranged at different angles of rotation and were situated on a flat shore. Four cases were simulated with variation on the number of structures and orientation toward the tsunami direction. Case 1 comprises a single structure (SS) C without rotation (R=0°) and used as the baseline, Case 2 contains multiple structures (MS) A, B and C without rotation (R=0°), Case 3 includes multiple structures (MS) A, B and C with 30° rotation (R=30°), and Case 4 consist of multiple structures (MS) A, B and C with 45° rotation (R=45°). The simulations show that for a 2-solitary wave train the front structures generated a flow focusing effect that accelerated the bore velocity. The orientation of the multiple structures to the direction of the oncoming tsunami bore significantly affected the magnitude of the applied force, where the most effective structure orientation is provided by the 45-degree rotation. The results of this study emphasize the potential for improving tsunami resilience through appropriate positioning of structures. Importantly, such large reductions in force may provide an economic solution to building resilience in developing countries prone to tsunamis. © 2020 American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Changes in fluoride removal ability of chicken bone char (CBC) were investigated by both remained amounts of carbon including organic substances and crystallite size of hydroxyapatite in the CBC. Carbon contents in CBC were controlled by heating time at 600°C. Although temperature for crystal-grain growth for HAp, 650°C, was higher than 600°C, crystallite size of HAp in CBC increased with heating time. Fluoride ion removal ability positively related to the amount of remaining carbon and negatively related to the square of crystallite size, as an index of surface area, of HAp. These results suggested that fluoride ion removal from water by CBC is not only by ion exchange and/or dissolution-precipitation process, but also by adsorption by carbon and/or temporal capture of fluoride ion by microstructure of carbonate in CBC before immobilize it in apatite structure. © 2019 The Authors. A decision support system is a solution to help provide decision recommendations in determining which options to choose as a solution, in this decision support system research, namely analyzing and comparing the Matching Profile method and the SAW (Simple Additive Weighting) method in providing the best choice solution in the case of determining teaching staff acceptance. Determination of Admission, The selected teaching staff, are teaching staff who are in accordance with the criteria and quality. In an educational institution, namely TPQ Anbata, it is a very important issue to get elected teaching staff. One way to get teaching staff who is in accordance with the cafeteria is determined by selecting or determining prospective teaching staff by paying attention to various assessment criteria so that the selected teaching staff is feasible. From the tests that have been carried out, the results obtained include all test cases, and the testing is appropriate. The results of the system calculation accuracy test show that the calculation of Matching Profile and SAW (Simple Additive Weighting Method carried out by the system with manual calculations is correct and the feasibility test. Appropriate to use in making decisions determining the recruitment of teachers than the profile matching method in Anbata TPQ. The difference is in the highest value in each method. In the profile matching method, the highest value is Salman Al Fariz with a value of 4.70 while in the SAW method the highest value is Ali Gufron with a value of 8,778., it can be concluded that the most appropriate method in determining the recruitment of teaching staff at TPQ Anbata is the Profile Matching Method. © 2020 IEEE.

The purpose of this research is to know public perception of biogas users in Jetak Village, Semarang Regency viewed from technological aspect, technical (biogas installation), biogas benefit, economy and environment. The method used qualitative descriptive with qualitative descriptive approach. The technique of determining key informants was done by purposive sampling. Data were obtained from cattle ranchers who lived in the study sites through interviews, observation and documentation. The result of this research is overall the perception about biogas energy get a positive response from user society. However, there are some things that should be considered for the government and others in providing assistance that is necessary to consider the evaluation and monitoring periodically so that the constraints experienced by the user community can be known early and can be found right solutions. In addition, the sustainability of the use of biogas energy can be done from generation to generation not just the aid which in the end becomes only useless materials. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd. Coconut leaf is one of the most potential biomass to be converted into bio-oil through pyrolysis process and the availability in Indonesia is abundance. The mechanism of decomposition of coconut leaf into bio-oil productions requires further research because of the complexity of pyrolysis and differences in biomass composition. Therefore, the design, optimization and modeling of pyrolysis processes is strongly influenced by biomass characteristics. The purpose of this study was to find the characteristic differences in pyrolysis behavior of the three main parts of coconut leaf based on its constituent parts;leaflets, midrib and whole leaf. Moisture is removed by drying the sample in an electric oven at 110°C for 24 hours. Characteristics were tested using Cellulose Analysis, Ultimate Analysis, and Heat Value, whereas pyrolysis behavior used Thermogravimetric Analyzer (TGA). The results show that leaflets, midrib and whole leaf exhibit different pyrolysis behavior. In terms of considering flow process of separation, the whole leaf becomes an option as a fuel for further pyrolysis processes. The maximum temperature that as a reference in the pyrolysis process of coconut leaves is 500°C with temperature rate of 20°C/min and the process lasts as long for 130 minutes. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Using the Scopus database, this study aims to investigate the use of artificial intelligence for cancer detection in the last ten years from 2013 to 2022. The researchers used bibliometric analysis combined with VosViewer and Rstudio software quantification method for literature analysis. The results of the flushed articles show data such as publication year, journal, country, keywords, and authors, to the highest number of citations. Common keywords used by researchers are artificial intelligence, medical, and human. Researchers limited the findings through keywords such as in the last ten years, documents are journals, and English only so that 1868 articles were obtained. The results found that Harvard Medical School affiliation had the highest number of articles, with 101 articles, by subject area, Medicine had a proportion of 41.9% (n=1320). This bibliometric study will be useful for other researchers to examine the development of research on Artificial Intelligence for Cancer Detection in the last ten years.

Composition of pigments in brown algae collected from Bolok marine waters

Brown algae live and are attached to the bottom of the waters that can penetrate sunlight like land plants in general, macro algae have chlorophyll or other accessory pigments. Apart from being food ingredient, algae have also been widely used for medical purposes because it contains antioxidants so it is very good for health in addition to the function of photosynthesis. Each species of algae, has a different type of photosynthetic pigment, so that the type of color of light that is absorbed is also different to achieve an optimal photosynthesis process. Optimal photosynthesis process, in the end will directly affect all biological processes of the algae, for growth. The purpose of this study was to determine the composition of the types of pigments contained in the brown algae. The method used in this research was survey method for sample collection, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) and Spectrophotometry method are used for the separation of pigment types. The results of the study in the coastal waters of Bolok found three species of brown algae from Phaeophyta Division, namely Dictyota dichotoma, Pandina australis and Sargassum polycystum species. Pigment composition obtained 4-5 fractions with β-carotene pigment type, at Rf 1.0 while chlorophyll pigment is between Rf 0.5 – 0.6, pheophytin type is between Rf 0.4 – 0.5 while some groups of xanthophyll pigments found at the Rf value 0.2 – 0.3.

Muara Badak is one of the districts that prone to the road landslide in Kutai Kertanegara Regency of East Kalimantan province in Indonesia. Reactivated landslides have been identified in several locations in the road access to Muara Badak district, for instance the Simpang-3 Sambera. Geophysical study has been carried out using Wenner Alpha of Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) and Time Domain of Induced Polarization (IP) methods. Assessment and measurement conducted in three lines parallel to the road using MAE Unit-48 electrodes with three meters interval. Resistivity inversion shows the area predominantly composed of clay, sandy clay and coal, with resistivity value within 1-80 ohm.m, 81-200 ohm.m and >200 ohm.m respectively. Slip surface has been interpreted about 6 meter depth, occurring between the contacts of less-consolidated sandy clay and consolidated clay with translation pattern and thicker to the toe of the landslide. The IP data using to interpret the groundwater table at the depth of 3-4 meter based on the pattern of chargeability that closed to the surface. Furthermore and correlated to the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) data, the contact between the weak zone and the hard zone is interpreted to be at the depth of 6 meters. It is concluded that the trigger of the reactivated landslide in Simpang-3 Muara Badak were triggered by several factor including, rainfall and run of water, groundwater and steeply slope.

Mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana Linn) fermentation with Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast to increase antioxidant level

The presence of free radicals causes various diseases in the body. Free radicals are atoms or groups that have one or more unpaired electrons. In protecting the body from free radical attack, antioxidant substances stabilize free radicals by complementing the lack of electrons from free radicals, thereby inhibiting chain reactions. Mangosteen fruit is an abundant agricultural food product in Indonesia, with a production of more than 190 thousand tons of mangosteen each year, this is directly proportional to the abundant amount of mangosteen rind waste. Mangosteen rind contains relatively high polyphenols compounds, which act as antioxidants, but have not been widely used. The fermentation process is one of the most effective ways to utilize mangosteen rind waste to produce antioxidants to ward off free radicals that enter the body. One of the most widely used microorganisms in fermentation is Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Besides being cheap, easier to obtain, and commonly used in food and beverage industries, Saccharomyces cerevisiae yeast is proven to increase fruit antioxidant levels through fermentation. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimum fermentation of mangosteen rind biomass concentration with yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) to produce the best antioxidant activity. The results showed that fermented mangosteen rind with the 20% mangosteen rind powder sample using Saccharomyces cerevisiae produced high antioxidant activity, namely 5.93 ppm antioxidant.

Green campus development of UNNES postgraduate program: potential identification and performance analysis

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) with the vision of conservation-minded university with international reputation continues to develop a conservation-based academic life, namely the value of caring for the environment. This vision is supported by one of the internal UNNES Green Campus programs, namely H-BAT (green, clean and healthy). Based on the results of the H-BAT assessment in period of June 202, it showed that the achievement of the UNNES Postgraduate program (it's called PPs UNNES) performance was 62.24%. This performance achievement is a low indicator for PPs UNNES in its efforts to develop a green campus. The formulation of the problem that can be raised is how to improve the performance of PPs UNNES's H-BAT achievement in the field of conservation. The purpose of this study is to identify potential and analyse campus performance in accordance with the H-BAT indicator assessment criteria. The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory. The results show that the achievement of 62.24% of the H-BAT assessment illustrates that the PPs UNNES green campus governance is not optimal, both in administration, programs, policies and implementation in the field. PPs UNNES has great potential to be able to better improve H-BAT achievement, but it seems that there are obstacles that may be the cause of the low H-BAT performance achievements in the past period. It needs a lot of efforts to optimize the existing potential so that it can fulfil the H-BAT assessment indicators more optimally.
